Jenn is an extremely skilled hairdresser and a genuinely nice person. I didn’t give her much to work with — a short, bad haircut. She managed to texture it in all the right places to achieve the look I wanted. The price was very reasonable and the atmosphere relaxed. I will definitely be back!

Jenn has the magic touch and is an awesome conversationalist. I LOVE that this salon is cooperatively owned, they don’t try to sell you any products, and all of the stylists seem to really enjoy their work (and each other). The unpretentious and relaxed vibe is really refreshing.

I have followed Lacey for several years, this being the third location (and I’m so happy these ladies have their own spot now)… she has always been a godsend to my weak and pathetic hair which I have struggled with for many years, and has also always been a great ear for me. Over the years, she has cut and coloured my hair, put in extensions of different varieties, and on top of it, been a great friend/​therapist!
As much as I’d like to keep her to myself, I can’t recommend Lacey enough for any kind of hair help.

I go to this salon to see my hairdresser Nikki. The salon has a really cool, relaxed vibe. Some salons can be intimidating to go to but I always feel comfortable here.
I have been seeing my hairdresser Nikki for seven years and I would recommend anyone to see her. She always does an amazing job on my hair. I have bright red, short hair that needs to get colored and cut every six weeks. Nikki has a great personality, is easy to talk to and has great suggestions when I want to change my hair up a bit. I wouldn’t go to anyone else but her.

I was referred to this salon by a friend and am thrilled that she told me about this hidden gem!
I enjoy the super-​relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere, and that the prices are affordable.
The gal I have been seeing is Lacey and I love her. She’s genuinely friendly, a great conversationalist, and most of all, a fantastic hairdresser.
If you are looking for a new salon/​hairdresser, I highly recommend Bye Napoleon and Lacey.

i have been a client of jenn’s since approx. 2001 and i am so happy she is back in vancouver cutting hair! i love coming to see her in this new salon because it is so laid back and doesn’t have that loud/​stressful vibe that so many can have, everyone is really friendly.
jenn has been so great at taming my thick, wavy hair– i always feel better after seeing her. i also really appreciate how she listens to what i want but is also really good at suggesting what she thinks will work or look best too. see you again soon jenn!

I live two blocks away from this place. My husband really needed a haircut one day and thought he would drop by here. I realize it says by appointment only but it was the attitude that bothered him the most. It was fairly early in the morning on a weekend and the two stylists that were working simply looked him up and down and said, by appointment only. There were no customers and they were just talking to each other. They did not suggest booking him an appointment or anything else, that was the end of conversation. My husband has very simple short hair and it would have been very easy fifty bucks in fifteen minutes for them, but no. He probably looked like he just woke up and had shorts on with paint on them so obviously they chose to judge. It’s really disappointing for a neighbourhood place. I know banzai is opening practically next door to them, so we will see how long they last after that.

This is definitely a hidden gem for now but it is sure to blow up huge in the next little bit while the upper Main street area begins to develop. Lacey is my long time hairdresser and she is truly fantastic. She is a whiz with my long curls and bangs. I can’t highly recommend her enough. Her years of experience really shine through with her talent with hair and with people. As for the salon itself, it is gorgeous in its simplicity. The ladies that all work there are mega sweet and friendly. They’re currently working on a website so look for that soon.
