Valrhona Chocolate Brownie(Gluten-free) — bitter condense moist chocolate cake with a piece of solid dark chocolate as the bottom; sweet rock candies decorated on the top of the brownie Salted Caramel Blondie — lightly salted with light caramel taste; same moist condense cake texture with walnuts in the middle; sweet piece of biscuit(white chocolate taste) decorated on the top with gold powder For the service, the dark brown hair lady wearing glasses said it is okay to put the box, which contains the two items, sideway into the paper bag for carrying. I was surprised to hear that because the two items would move inside the box in which they might be ruined. Also, she told me to pick up the name card so I can called in advance if I want any item to be put aside for me. She should hand the name card to customers instead of telling customers to pick up the name card themselves. In addition, I don’t know why she, who was also the cashier, told the taller and light brown hair lady to come out from the kitchen to take my money, who seemed not friendly and just went back to the kitchen after giving me back the change. Same with the previous reviews, their products also do not amaze me, and their service is less than their price. You can find the same products with similar quality and with similar price but with better service elsewhere. Just imagaine if the brownie and the blondie are made with a square shape with no decoration instead of a bar shape with decoration, then they would be just like a gluten-free chocolate brownie cake(with dark chocolate) and a salted caramel square. I was originally planning to try their other baked goods but now I think I don’t need to.

This might be the best bakery i have been in Vancouver, everything we tried was AMAZING! Croissants were super buttery and flaky, the chocolate chip cookie was perfect, and i got a mini morning bun which was to die for. Bakery itself was hip, and nice. It’s not super big, but there is tables if you decide to have some pastries and coffee there. Will definetely be back

OMG! Beaucoup’s croissants are like«heaven in my mouth»! I have yet to try real croissants in France, but the croissants here are nothing like I’ve ever tasted in LA. If I were to think of a flaw, I would say that they’re a bit on the sweeter side, but that’s also coming from someone who does not have a sweet tooth. Get this, from someone who’s gluten and dairy intolerant, my walls crumbled at the sight of their almond croissants. It also didn’t help that my best friend, the San Diego transplant turned Vancouvernite, could not stop raving about their croissants and told us that we HAD to go there before we left. I am so glad that we did! I will never forget the butter inside of the croissant that blended so well with the glazed sugar, mixed so nicely with the almond pieces and powdered sugar on top. I melted with every bite and could not put it down. It complimented my london fog, so well. The boo thang couldn’t agree less with his chocolate croissant paired so perfectly with his coffee. We were both dancing back home on top of clouds carefully making sure we did not drop one crumb on the ground for my BFF’s dog, Aspen, to lick. It was just too good! I would definitely return the next time I’m in Vancouver and make sure to recommend that others do the same upon their next visit. In the meantime, I’ll have to settle with the thought of floating croissants from Beaucoup in my mind. Sigh…

I always choose Beaucoup for meetings with friends. It’s a toss up whether there will be seats since it can get busy, but it’s always worth trying. The baked goods are made fresh daily and I just love the buttery flaky croissants. Don’t expect a doughy pastry, it will flake all over you in a most divine mess! For sweets, I go for the deliciously salty sweet peanut butter sandwich cookies(not to mention the chocolate rosemary sea salt cookies).

Very cute place & friendly staff. My husband & I tried the regular croissant, almond, & chocolate almond and they were all delicious! One thing I didn’t like was their espresso. I had that acidic taste I don’t like otherwise, It enjoyed the pastries!

I came here for a work meeting. I bought a mocha only. The mocha tasted a little different from the regular one. I could taste a little bit of salty and sweet. There was a little square of cookie beside the cup on the plate. It was cute. Many people said that croissants here are excellent. Unfortunately I was in a work meeting, so I did not buy and try a croissant. I didn’t want to be talking and eating at the same time. I will definitely try their croissants next time. The café is located at Fir street and 6th street. Many people dropped by and picked up beverages and croissants or snacks. I was at the café from 4pm to 5:30pm. The customers came into the café continuously. The sales was quite good yesterday. The café is not very big. It is like an «L» shape inside. When there is a lot of customers, the café is packed and there is not much room to move. The price is average. Croissants are a bit more expensive because they are special in this café. You can tell this is a lot of people’s favourite café. If you haven’t been here, give it a try.

A bit pretentious but one of the best, by far, the city has to offer. The pastry here truly is a work of art, let’s be clear. Pricey, sure, but not overly so. If you are into quality, this is the place to go plus I love the unique location choice, it breathes a little life into an area otherwise semi-industrial. Try a croissant even if that isn’t your thing, I guarantee you will be impressed by the the pastry. I’m not a coffee drinker but I can find plenty of interest to me here but I take it to go,. I’m just not cool enough to be here, I might offend the resident clientele.

It only took one lovely coworker bringing in a box full of croissants from beaucoup to get me hooked on croissants for life, and this is coming from someone who didn’t like croissants before!

Can’t go wrong with the croissants here. The regular croissant is so buttery, simply delicious. Chocolate croissant adds even more indulgent goodness to have chocolate in between all the gorgeous flakey layers. Just perfect. Can’t wait to try more of their creations!

Best almond croissant or any croissant for that matter, in the city. No contest. I love every single thing here, SOGOOD. Staff is friendly too! They also serve up some good coffee from 49th and all in all I love this place. Best part? Next to my work: D

Just like what I remembered from Paris. The croissant was full of butter, which made it flakey, really flakey! The late made from parallel 49 coffee roasters was also delicious. Wish they have more variety of baked breads so I can take some home for dinner.

I so wanted this place to live up to the hype as the owner is a local celebrity of sorts… but I have to say I was let down. The place is tiny and the décor is just average… I was hoping for something that would remind of sitting at a café in Paris sipping on a latte while watching the world go by. I have only tried the Pane Au Chocolate which although quite fluffy was too buttery for my taste… all my fingers smelled like butter after and I was feeling rather full after just having one with a latte. I don’t if I’ll be back again as the location is quite out of the way and it failed to amaze me…

Absolutely delicious croissants – rival the ones I had in Paris, and are certainly the best I’ve had in Vancouver. If they were any closer to where I live or work, I’d be here daily! I’m not a coffee drinker myself, but their hot chocolate is excellent.

By far my favourite(double baked) almond croissant! My friend and I made a stop here on a weekend morning in late August before our trip to Granville Island. We were there pretty early but the place was already bustling — a lot of people looked like they had just come from a morning run/biking/yoga. The two of us shared an almond croissant(again, my favourite — the almond paste is the best part, and while some might find it a bit too sweet, I think it’s perfect), a pain au chocolat(good as well, but no raving review here), and a fig cake(fig was in season so we decided to try, but this was underwhelming). For drinks, I had an americano and my friend had a London fog — they were on par with other coffee shops I’ve been to. Before leaving, I had to take some almond croissants to go. I would definitely go here again in the future, whenever I visit Vancouver. Tip: come here early if you want the almond croissant — a set number of batches are made each day and these sell out fast!

My friend A and I like exploring local coffee shops for our meetings. It was my turn to pick and as I’ve been croissant crazy lately I did my research and chose Beaucoup as they spent 6 months perfecting their croissant recipe! Well the recipe may be great but I will never know as the chocolate croissant I ordered was so far over cooked it was almost burnt. and I’m not a conessieur of baking but any means but A suggested it was also cooked at too high of a temperature because of the consistency of the(limited) chocolate in its folds. A tally everything on the shelves seemed a little too crisp… Also disappointed to find 49th parallel coffee on tap. Don’t get me wrong — I love 49th parallel — but I like it when I go to one of their shops! When did I turn into a coffee snob??? That said it was a pleasing shop, the tables were filled and there was always someone in line! So what the heck do I know anyway? Oddly a large amount of staff working but it took a while to get served.

I have been following them on Instagram for the longest time and their pain au chocolates always catch my eye! Finally I came back in October and then again this May with my husband. He loved it here! It may be a tiny space but if it is lovely outside then it won’t be as crowded. There is a park across the street(careful, no crosswalks!) and seating outside. We got the pain Au chocolate again and lucked out ok some kougin Amann. Think beautiful fluffy pastry that has been caramelized to a crisp! Some people call it a Breton cake. Anyways so good! If you ever see one of those or a cannele at a French bakery you must order it!

Being a sweet tooth as I am I had to check this bakery out as I used to live nearby. I visited on a rainy weekend morning and found the placed crowded with a long lineup inside. The shop was cramped even for those of us trying to line up. My croissant-picker was pleasant and wasn’t bothered by my last minute change of heart. I ordered two of their chocolate croissants — knowing full well that it would be the better part of $ 10. We had them at home a few hours later and warmed them up in our oven. Mine was good but not legendary. In a pinch I would go back, but given the price point and the location relative to my new digs, I wouldn’t make a special trip.

Beaucoup Bakery is a small café on Fir St and West 6th Ave at quite neighborhood area. I saw some good reviews of this local café and went there to check it out on late Sun afternoon. When we walked in, they were so busy and all tables or stools were full. We were checking out the menu and tried to ordering, the staff showed impatient while taking the order. I had Mocha was mediocre(Milano mocha much better), hot chocolate just ok. Passionfruit tart was too sour and chocolate almond croissant really nothing stood out. I would say such average parties and cakes with unfriendly staff, I don’t’ see any reason I would go back.

Although the location is quite hard for me to get there since it is not close to many businesses, it’s worth a try. I went to Beaucoup Bakery for a quick dessert after a lunch that I had close by and I really liked it. I had the Salted chocolate rosemary cookie which is very good and tasty although I think the rosemary is unnecessary(I am not a big fan of the taste of rosemary in the food), but I love salted chocolate. I also had the Valrhona brownie and loved it, much more than the cookie. The piece of chocolate inside of the brownie gives a much better taste to the brownie. I wish I could try the famous croissants, but I will order it next time.
