A cute coffee shop that apparently also sells booze! This is in a super convenient location on the corner of Hastings and Cambie, and has a ton of space inside. It’s cosy and always feels very welcoming. The staff are friendly and their teas are truly spectacular! They always have good combinations of ingredients — rather than boring peppermint they have a bunch of mints and maybe liquorice? I can’t remember but I know I loved it! I have yet to try the food, but it looks tasty, and I hear the pizza are great! Somewhere I’ll be returning to for sure.

I came here for a monthly meet up of creative types that happens here on Fridays. The location is quite convenient, as almost all buses passing through Gastown here. The furniture is just typical and the place lacks any particular vibe… in contrast to the neighbouring coffee shops like Revolver or Prado. There was quite a bit of space so our group had room to mingle and chat. The service was ok, the server forgot my coffee order and only gave me my croissant… but then made up for it by giving me a free drip coffee. The coffee is just ok and lacks a distinct taste and my croissant was just average. I wouldn’t come back again unless attending an event.

Came in for a coffee & business meeting, was greeted by a barista who was eating a slice of pizza and continued to do so as I stood waiting, then took my order and had her head turned backwards speaking to her coworker while she handed me the ATM machine, I had to ask for a receipt and there was no thank you or any courtesy words communicated either. The staff seemed more preoccupied with cranking up the loudest rap music possible, making this coffee house sound more like a night club. I have nothing against this type of music. All in all a very poor experience and management should be embarrassed for having such poorly trained front line staff, one of the poorest staff attitudes that I’ve come across making it my last visit to this franchise. Please use this as a training opportunity.

The barista checked to see of we shared the same definition of machiato and dissed starbucks. That won my heart. The coffee was good too.

Motion and his staff are not only super friendly and make delicious coffee, but they are generous supporters of their community and downtown east side by regularly donating coffee to breakfast lecture events.

I ordered the caramel latte. It’s perfect for me. The staff is friendly. I will go again:))))

Beans and espresso machine must be pretty high caliber cause the Americano I had was very rich. This place is high energy, urban«rustic» hipster feel with some interesting art work and very bright with lots of indirect light. Staff were friendly and seem to love Beyonce(3 Beyonce songs in 30 mins).

I stumbled upon this place while walking around downtown Vancouver and decided to stop in for a snack. It had a friendly, bustling vibe, and I enjoyed sitting at the bar while I ate, browsing through a local paper and people-watching. I can’t say it was super-memorable or unique, but my experience was positive.

This was my first time at this coffee shop. I am a starbucks gal. But i came in here before my class since i was so early and was hungry! The atmoshphere was awsome. I actually like sitting in here better than sitting inside starbucks and i love their ham and swiss croissant which they warm up than grill. YUM!

Walking in here, you would never know that this was a «Bean Around the World». In fact there was nothing here that screamed anything like the chain. The location and the coffee shop’s ambience wasn’t stellar, however, it’s the only place close to my best friend’s that we can have tea and gossip about the music world together before making it back to my neighborhood. They do make a great ruby fruit tea that impressed me enough to write this review. The prices are the same as Starbucks… just better tea.

I visited this shop pretty much every day for the last 18 months as I work across the street. I am treated to great service every single day by all the staff without exception. I am greeted on a first name basis, and my order is almost always started before I get to the counter! My favourite coffee shop for sure

Bean Around the World in Gastown is a great place to people watch. Just around the corner from Revolver, we often come here when we forget that Revolver is closed. Located on Hastings between East and West, you can absorb the many faces of Vancouver’s culture thru the windows as punk rock indie music blars in the background. Although not a great place to study /work, it is relaxing to play catch up with friends. The coffee? Producer direct from the Zelaya family in Antigua Valley. It is rich. If you are in dire need of a caffeine fix, you’ve come to the right place.

Great spot to people watch. Grab your drink and plunk yourself down right by the windows and watch the nexus point between East and West Hastings mix and mingle. Staff were friendly. We enjoyed our coffee and tea.

Been here several times now, it’s definitely more crowded than the Sunday afternoon I first arrived, and not as relaxing as before. The music is often blaring, not ideal for work or some quiet reading, and the selection often features cheesy pop tunes. The service is brisk but efficient. And the punch card system they have, where you get each 10th drink free, makes Bean Around the World a useful place for grabbing drinks to go if you’re passing by.

mmm refreshing iced orange-cranberry tea! Came here because I was thirsty and I had 30 minutes to spare before I had to go to my appointment nearby. I saw the iced tea on the board and had to try it! I got it small and cost me about $ 2.35 I think? It comes unsweetened, but they have LIQUIDSUGAR that you can put on your iced tea. Have I ever told you how much I love liquid sugar? Putting plain old sugar in unsweetened iced tea does not work at all. Sure, you can use honey, but I prefer to put liquid sugar. You have no idea how excited I was to see liquid sugar! With the right amount of liquid sugar, I enjoyed the iced tea and you can taste the cranberry and orange. Great for a summer hot day!

This used to be my favourite coffee shop because of their chai lattes and«face cookies»(cookies the size of my face). They used to have Sawatta chai mix, which is delicious and incredible. But they’ve recently(not sure when) switched to powdered stuff mixed with powdered ginger. Way too much ginger and grainy gunk at the bottom of my mug. So gross. The location is still awesome, lots of sunlight and private-ish seating, the baked goods are still great, but the drinks leave something to be desired nowadays.

I write this review after I’ve moved away from yvr and my heart aches to return to this bean around the world. The espressos/americanos, lattes, macchiatos… let’s just say their beans and coffees are all knockouts. I used to work in the offices just above the café so it was my go to for caffeine fixes. The baristas(at least the ones a few months back) were all super nice and funky. They definitely make their loyal customers feel at home.

Did you know that there are many Bean Around the Worlds, and all of them are franchise operations? That’s why they’re so different! This one is bright and sunny(on a sunny day) with a great amount of windows and good seating options. You can have a private or a not-so-private seat. Good bike parking options as well.

I walked by this fairly new spot(opened 4 months ago) a few times and finally had some spare time to go inside and check it out. I loved the awesome space: hardwood floor, Eames loungers(although they were replicas, still so comfy :), Noguchi coffee table and Eames LCW(replicas as well I should think), giant windows… My cinnamon bun was okay, but not the best. Plus, they served my drink in a to go cup without even asking! WHAAAAT! This environmental craziness has to stop. What’s with those crapy cardboard tasting wasteful to go cups? Ugh! Overall, great space, very lit, cool furniture, but… Feels like something is missing… Their is no spirit to this place, it’s all very impersonal. AWESOME space though(I know I already said that :), definitely worth to check out.

This Heritage building has just been renovated. the newly opened Beans ATW offers swank location right on the corner of Hastings & Cambie looking out towards Victory Square, and across street from Nuba. The room is nicely finished with wooden floors and open beam ceiling, lots of counter seats looking out on the street and cozy chairs and of course the coffee is excellent.
