A good choice on west side if you’re in Kerrisdale and not feeling the drive to Oakridge. Does close a bit early, 7pm, typical government hours. Instead of paying metered parking, just go to the alley underground at London Drugs, I’m sure you can find something there too lol. Smaller store, with just 2 cashiers but pretty well you can find something to drink here ;)

I am a big fan of this BC liquor store! The staff are really nice and quite knowledgable, the store is clean and well lit. The prices are competitive and the bottle return is easy. You cannot go wrong! They have a pretty good scotch section as well!

«How can you not love your friendly neighbourhood BCL.» However, this location does have a few downfalls and this is why: I’d have to say it’s the smallest BCL I’ve been to as such the selection is a bit narrow. This location closes quite early compared to other stores. Maybe its the Kerrisdale factor. So make sure to be careful and check up the hours in advance before you head out. Regardless of its downfalls, its positives cannot be put down. It has lots of booze at government prices and as such is an automatic 5 stars in my books.

So I was coming home from work on a Friday and thought that picking up some beer would be a good idea. After thinking for several minutes as to where to buy alcohol, I decided that the BC Liquor Store would be the best place since it is close to my house and on the way home. As I entered and the doors automatically opened. This is definitely a nice feature of the BCLS and a nice change from normal store front doors which you have to manually push open. As I walked in I noticed that they had done an excellent job in separating the wine from the beer from the spirits. This made it extremely easy to browse and find what I was looking for efficiently. After a quick walk through the section of white wines i determined that I am in fact I am a 26 year old male and not a 55 year old female divorcee and headed towards the beer section. The BCLS employees had done an amazing job at organizing the beer so each brand was in it’s own pile, making it very easy to select the beer of my choosing. After grabbing a 12 case of Heineken, I headed towards the cashier and placed it on the checkout counter. My inability to grow a man’s amount of facial hair prompted the cashier to promptly ask for 2 pieces of ID which I provided. All in all the BCLS does a great job of organizing and selling almost any alcohol of your choosing. I will definitely go back the next time I am looking to pick up beer, a bottle of wine, or even some ‘hard alcohol’ as the kids these days call it.

This is yet another BC liquor store that is a favorite of mine… it’s new.clean.never too busy. and has very helpful and friendly staff. I like to stop in here after I have hit up the cheese shop down the street and get a good wine pared with it…
