Retail bakery and sit-down café. Artisan French pastries and desserts. Everything made from scratch and baked in-house. Lots of gluten free choices with our own gluten-free flour blend. Full espresso and tea drink menu served in-house and for take-out as well.
We also serve pastry trays for office and special events.
History
Established in 2014.
BAKERY SATE is the culmination of years of passion and dreaming by our Head Pastry Chef Eric Ho. Since childhood, he has always had a passion for baking and learning about the art of pastry. Even before arriving at a career in pastry, he has for years been baking and making desserts regularly to share with friends. Professionally trained with a Diploma in Baking and Pastry at Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts, Eric holds strongly to the practice of making everything in-house from scratch.
Eric’s path to pastry has been an intriguing one. He holds a Bachelor’s
Degree from UBC in Pharmacology, as well as a MBA. He has worked
many years in Vancouver’s technology field developing
wireless consumer electronics, and has also operated his engineering design firm for years. He has travelled extensively in Europe, especially France, due to his work. Ultimately, his lifelong passion is still in pastry and baking. He finds maximum satisfaction in baking and making pastry for others.
