Atrium Inn

1. A free breakfast is included… but it runs out if you come within the last hour. It will include usually banannas some cereal options, eggs, oatmeal, bagels, toast, cream cheese, honey, jam, and one meat option like bacon or sausage
2. There «is» a shuttle to three «downtown locations,» however the three locations are located on the waterfront and are all basically around Canada place. No exception of being dropped anywhere else. Also, if you are booking this hotel because you «think that as it has a shuttle it’s good to save some money and just transit downtown,» you may be fooling yourself as the «complementary shuttle,» is only available «if» they have a driver… which is honestly rarely. It’s not about the 7 passenger van being full but whether they had a driver, which in my trip of 4 days was only one of them… and he was only there from 10 – 1, so not a lot of flexibility there either. This shuttle would need to be booked the day before in any case. Also it’s only a one way trip… they will not pick you back up… so just some things to think about.
3. The pictures of the rooms found in their website as well as third party places like
are not necessarily accurate. The tv is actually a flat screen, no wooden box around it (you will be able to see where they pulled that apart on the dresser stand). The floors are readily stained and the lamps and as I mentioned the dressers and desks are pretty worn out. The bed’s mattress has also had a lot of miles on it. It was sinked in a bit and flimsy as it was very old. This was like the old guest bed in your grandmas house. It’s ancient, it sinks, but it was sleepable and the sheets were clean.
4. There is no mini fridge. If you want one, it will be 15 per night extra.
5. The hotel is located within a bit of a sketchy environment riddled with homeless people and the occasional drug user. These people don’t make their way inside the hotel as far as I had been aware, but it’s very present when you are transiting on the bus back and forth from the hotel.
6. There IS on the other hand free underground parking if you bring your own car which was a nice offered service.
7. The staff were kind but useless in terms of any special accommodations. Check in is at 4pm, check out is at 11am. It’s a clear cut costing mechanism. If this schedule however doesn’t match your traveling schedule, it may be possible depending on their availability to check in early and check out a little late. They also will hold your bags.
Overall, I would rate this hotel at a 5 out of 10. It wasn’t awful, but it wasn’t amazing. For the money you save by coming here, it doesn’t accommodate to the amount of time and expense of continuous 25 min transit to such an out of the way and sketchy area. The breakfast was good, but the room was that of a very worn out 3 star. The lobby was nice but I wasn’t sleeping in the lobby. The lack of fridge and expensive extra cost is unappealing and the luring of a «free downtown shuttle,» is very misleading as after the fact the staff will tell you it’s only if there is an available driver which if he is available it would be only till 1pm max. For comfort, unless your business is actually the near by waterpark or Burger King, spend the extra few dollars and get a hotel downtown you will be comfortable, accommodated, and near to your frequented destinations.

I can honestly say this was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The main reason for this was because the hotel lacked basic cleanliness. The prime example were the giant stains all over the carpet (to the point where I was afraid to take my shoes off.)
I asked the front desk to be switched rooms, only to be told that she could have someone «follow me up the room to see is it was ‘worth’ moving rooms for» it seemed like she didn’t believe me. My partner was napping on the bed (with shoes on) so I chose to not bring some random person into the room to point out where THEIR hotel was DIRTY. How unbelievably awkward would that be?! The appropriate response would have been «I’m sorry, yes, let’s move you to another room» and THEN check the room to see what the fuss was about.
I’ve contacted the manager and even included photos (which Ive posted here) and the customer service on that end has been just as terrible. Refusing to refund my room, offering me a free night stay (uh, no thank you! Did you see those photos?) and then after I declined, asking me what % off I wanted (I already told you, 100%) at this point I feel like I’m bartering with the hotel manager and the situation just keeps getting increasingly more frustrating. I’m ready to be done with this hotel for good, but first I needed to warn my fellow Unilocalers.
I encourage you all to avoid this place at all costs. Who knows, Maybe we got the one bad room, but I would hate for you to be the next to end up in the situation I’m in.

Meh. Its an alright hotel. I wouldn’t spend more than 1 night here. The neighborhood its in is pretty sketchy, as another review said below… essentially skid row a couple blocks away. The room was fine, clean for the most part. The carpet had a few large questionable stains which was a little gross. The beds were fine, although my husband complained that the mattress felt like it had a big hole in it.
The hotel seems to put a lot of effort into the way the lobby looks, with the «marble» floors and the fancy sitting area, but the rooms are pretty sub-​par. Personally, i think we paid too much for this place.

The hotel itself is pretty nice considering its affordable price. Pros: clean rooms, hot breakfast and free wifi. Cons: While the hotel itself is in an ok neighborhood, you should know that you have to go through something like skid row to get here from downtown – super sketchy. They have a shuttle to Canada Place but it only runs on the hour and only until 10 pm. And you have to reserve a spot a day or two in advance because it fills up. They don’t do pickups. There are several buses that run right down Hastings St. to downtown so you can take one of those instead. The biggest problem is that the hotel staff doesn’t really know what’s going on, even about things in the hotel. Like laundry or the shuttle. Customer service is seriously lacking.

Free underground parking, free (standard continental) breakfast included. The room was clean, the lobby way was very welcoming. The king size bed was huge and very comfortable. There was a little kitchenette as part of our room. This place is called the Atrium Inn because there’s an enclosed Atrium in the center of the hotel, where they sometimes hold events. The place was safe and a decent price for a short stay. Downsides were: you are a 15 minute drive east of downtown – so for those of you that like to be in the center of town, this is going to feel a little too far away. Also: when we arrived in Vancouver, we tried to check in at 1pm – they said the room wasn’t ready yet. The woman at the front desk said she would call us when the room was ready – and she never did. I can’t stand it when front desk staff promise something that they don’t do. The other downside… when we went to get breakfast, there were a ton of people in there – there isn’t enough space for people to get around and the room was very hot. So, we decided to go to the Starbucks 1 block down to get some food – it was too crazy and hot in the breakfast room. Other than that, nothing wrong with this place.

I spend 5 nights in this hotel. The administration guy were very friendly and polite. The room was clean and comfy. I can recommend Atrium to anyone who want to stay in a not expensive but a with very good quality hotel with a good service.

When our annual event West Coast Bound location had a fire it was switched to this hotel. West Coast Bound is the conference.
Staff were extremely helpful, present and yet unseen.
Although the general workshop rooms and scene areas were bed removed to allow for capacity interaction, rooms were clean and as expected.
