Bee & Thistle Guest House

My husband and I stayed at the Bee and Thistle last year and I have been meaning to write a review since. We originally wanted to explore Vancouver BC and stay in a B&B rather than a standard chain hotel. I discovered The Bee and Thistle by a simple Google search of «best bed and breakfast in Vancouver BC». I tried a few variations of the search statement but all the results came back with the Bee and Thistle as a top hit.
Although the price per night is more than what I wanted to pay, I have go say that it was worth every penny and then some. The home itself is beautiful and cozy; it felt like I was «home» the entire time. The breakfasts are incredible and beautifully presented. I was very impressed to learn that Lynn has no formal culinary training yet her breakfasts are incredibly tasty, unique and works of art. When we made our reservations, we requested that we were not served any pork or beef products, and our requests were met fully. I really appreciated that Lynn and Michael pay attention to all the little details that are required to make guests feel comfortable and welcomed.
As far as the room goes, it was lovely! The bathroom was clean and luxurious and the fridge waa stocked with all sorts of snacks. The bed was comfortable and fitted with clean and crisp linens. We also had a small laptop in our room which was provided to check emails, research the area for activities, etc. Michael was very helpful in sharing where the best spots in town were in terms of food, activities and such. I can’t express enough how lovely they both are and how much we enjoyed our time there. The entire experience was more than what I expected… if you want to stay in a beautiful place and treated like family, then the Bee and Thistle should be your destination.

Lynn and Michael offer the best Bs (Bed and Breakfast) we’ve experienced in quite some time, and we’ve tried out many over the years between the US and England.
We had the opportunity to have two mornings of scrumptious breakfasts that included amazing tastes such as brandied strawberries in lace toffee cups, blackberry oatmeal muffins, eggs benny, honeydew melon ribbons with lime honey drizzle, and chorizo potato petals. Every morning since then I’ve been wondering what is being served to guests and wishing I was there to sample!
The room was stocked with goodies such as in-​room coffee and tea, a fridge with complementary drinks and snacks, a corkscrew, free wi-​fi, bath products for the soaking tub, and an awesome fireplace. Luxury sheets and duvet on the bed, along with thick yet soft towels in the bathroom, all made for a wonderful stay.
The beautiful and comfortable accommodations in both the common areas and bedrooms, and warm hospitality from the hosts add up to memories we’ll always look back on with smiles. I would come back to Vancouver just to be able to visit more with Lynn and Michael and once again enjoy their fabulous B&B.

My wife found this place (through Trip Advisor I believe) and I was glad she did. The owners, Michael & Lynn are great and will do anything they can to make sure you enjoy your stay.
I believe the B&B has four rooms for you to choose from. Our room had a super comfortable bed, a great bathroom, a TV & Blu-​ray player and a fridge filled with soda, water, candy & chips — also two fresh baked cookies.
The breakfasts are amazing — gourmet is definitely the adjective to use. Some of the treats we had were:
Melon ribbons & blackberry; cheese & chive biscuit; fresh waffle with strawberry; orange frappé; maple Canadian bacon eggs benedict on potato latkes; brandied strawberries; blackberry & oatmeal muffin.
I am probably forgetting some of the food, but we never left breakfast anything other than completely stuffed!

This might just be my favorite B&B to date. Lynn and Michael were so welcoming and accomodating, and the rooms were amazing. We found out that they had done the entire remodel on their own, which makes it all the more impressive.
We stayed here over the holidays between Christmas and New Years. Lynn offered us a continental breakfast, rather than full breakfast, since they had family in town, and I could not have been more pleased. We were stuffed by the continental breakfast, which consisted of fresh baked pastries, yogurts, homemade granola, juice/​coffe/​tea, and fruit. It was delicious!
Every night, they left us a plate of homemade goodies on the bed. The small fridge also had tons of snacks and beverages that were provided free of charge. It was such a welcome place to come home to each night we were in Vancouver. I would definitely come back here again and I highly recommend!

We loved our stay at the Bee & Thistle! Lynn and Michael were wonderful hosts, making us feel very welcome and comfortable, answering any questions that we had, and even giving us a bottle of local wine in celebration of our honeymoon! The breakfasts were amazing, so delicious and beautiful presentation! Our room was comfortable and full of extras (a Netbook for checking email, tea, coffee, snacks in the refrigerator, etc.). We definitely will be staying here next time we come to Vancouver!

This is everything you hope for in a bed and breakfast. Friendly, but not obtrusive innkeepers; cozy quarters with a heavenly bed; a convenient location that’s out of the mainstream; and a breakfast that keeps you full all day.
You will not be disappointed… but bring your stretchy pants.

I found this place while searching online for a cute place to stay during part of our honeymoon in Vancouver. I read some great reviews, looked through the website and photos, and decided it would be wonderful.
We arrived in Vancouver a little early, but our room was ready and Lynn gave us a warm welcome. Our room was even more comfortable than pictures depicted. We stayed in Ivy’s room and had a king size bed, a flat screen tv, and even a little netbook with wifi in case we wanted to get online.
Lynn and Michael knew we were celebrating our honeymoon as well as my birthday, and had a nice handwritten note for us with a bottle of local wine. There were also freshly baked cookies waiting for us along with a very comprehensive folder of places to eat and visit in the area.
The guest house is in a very convenient location. We were able to walk to many bars and restaurants on the drive. Such great places nearby!
The breakfasts here are to die for. They are absolutely amazing, delicious, beautiful, and the list of adjectives goes on and on! If I lived in Vancouver, I think I would choose to stay here at least once a month to indulge in their gourmet breakfasts.
I really can’t say enough great things about this place. I will recommend it to everyone looking for a nice and affordable lodging option in Vancouver. I can’t wait to go back and visit again!
