This place isn’t really a dollar store. Nothing I bought here was less than $ 2 so what’s with the «loonie» in the name? Fake eyelashes cost $ 6. A feather duster cost $ 2. I saw them selling some costumes… $ 45.
Can you tell I came here Halloween costume shopping? I didn’t buy the costume here though, just some accessories – noted above.
In general, this place is not that inexpensive and there are much better dollar stores that actually sell things for a dollar. However, maybe the rent is higher in this area and they need to raise prices to cover the costs? It’s good for when you’re in a bind and can’t find any other dollar store in Vancouver.

This place has a weird selection of miscellany and smells super funky. And not in the cool-​70s-​music way. More in the stale-​dog-​house-​of-​old-​garbage kind of way.
To redeem itself, it has a good selection of gift bags for different occasions. It also has a fair selection of picture frames. Not that nice, but they are $ 2, so if you bust the glass in a nice frame it’s the cheapest way to replace it (if it’s a standard size).
