Food is usually pretty good but WAY over priced. The carrot cake is great but it’s not made there, they buy it from the Trading Post in Port Perry. I just feel that when I spend a couple hundred dollars on a nice dinner out, it should be better then what I can make at home. We went there for New Years once and it was really fun. Service is always great. I’d recommend if your a little challenged in the kitchen but if you’re a decent cook… maybe not.

I will never forget the first time I dined in the Tin Mill, and Don(one of the owners) who is a wonderful host, asked me how the food was. If you ask, I will answer, lol, and he was so taken back(It was positive but detailed), he asked me would I mind if he brought the chef out and reiterated the review. I was glad to do so. We went into details explaining the excellent marbling in the steak, the al dente fresh vegetables, and on and on. I was very pleased with the menu, and became for several years a regular customer. The ambiance is warm and inviting, you have to experience that. I would always highly recommend the Tin Mill for a number of reasons. Good quality, well presented food. Excellent service, Don is usually close by to make sure all flows well, and I have to say that if you are looking for a really great place to go on New Years Eve, check them out, its a blast. Recommended. Jim

I find the food here hit or miss. Certain items I’ve had were fantastic and others were just awful. For the prices they’re charging, I feel it should be consistently delicious. The service can be stuffy at times but has never been rude. The atmosphere is quite nice and cosy — great for intimate gatherings — and they have a room in the back to accommodate larger groups. There aren’t many options in town for fine dining so we’ve probably gone here more than we would have if there were better alternatives.

Having guests on short notice, we contacted the Tin Mill in Uxbridge to see if they could accommodate our group of four on a busy Sunday for brunch. Our reservation was graciously taken and we were able to be seated at the time we had requested. The Mill itself is an old flour mill that has been refurbished with loving care… beautiful ambiance! The brunch menu had a wide selection that suited our mixed group nicely: fish and chips, samosa galette benedict, peach and prosciutto flatbread, and traditional eggs benedict. The Classic Tin Frites were enough to bring me back another day… Delicious! Service was efficient, helpful and friendly. The deserts were all house made, and again, did not disappoint: Warm saucy lemon pots, coconut macaroon tower, and Tin Mill classic carrot and pineapple cake. A lovely day at a lovely restaurant. Thanks tin Mill!

I’ve only been here the once, but I’d come again. The fries were great, a standout menu item, and the rest of the food we had was above average. The building and locale are interesting. I’d have to come a few more times to have a considered opinion, but based on one visit, it’s definitely a place I’d return to.

Great atmosphere, great food. Good for once a month or so, due to a bit of a pricey menu. Sunday brunch is usually a very safe bet. I don’t think you’d be disappointed.

Great portion of sweet potato frites and tasty, too! The fish and chips were good. Light batter, ample portion and good Yukon gold fries. The dark chocolate flourless chocolate cake for dessert was excellent. I would definitely go back!

I came here with my Sister, her husband and my niece on Sunday for brunch. Very friendly, great history so points for that. $ 16.99 for 3 course brunch seemed pretty fair. The frites were awesome… potato and sweet potato with a nice spicy slightly sweet dipping sauce. HOWEVER, if you order those, they should know better than to give you a huge serving of deep fried sweet potato chunks when you order the eggs benny as the second course. Either way, the eggs benny were ok. Although huge points for the peameal bacon YUMMO. Suggestion, lose half the sweet taters and double up the egg. Desert was just ok, choice of what looked and tasted like store bough lemon/vanilla cake or chocolate cake. They do have a nice selection of micro brew beers on tap! Sis had the tomato-brie-bacon sandwich that looked awesome. She loved it and it came with a huge side salad. I think I will go that route next time. It was kinda cool that Graham Greene held the door open for me when I got there(dude from Dancing with Wolves… dating myself i know). Even though I didnt recognize him until my Sister said… did you notice… I was like. um no, I thought he was a street guy. almost gave him a buck for holding the door open… how embarrassing that would have been eh?(a little Canadian touch for effect) Anyway…nice little place
