Uxbridge is a town in transition, and I think this little shop is a good example of it. It’s next door to and mated with Blue Heron Books, with a nice little passthrough inside from one to the other. It’s an interesting mixture. Alone one wall, you have racks of cosmetics and specialty soaps, made by the shop. These are almost entirely goat milk based, which is one of my favorite bases for soaps, and is something that’s really taken off in recent years. They have a number of lines, ranging from standard, to baby line, to a nice collection of man soaps with a beer theme, as well as some mineral cosmetics and shaving accouterments. Along the other wall, you have a tea shop, selling tea by bulk, as well as a small bakery counter and a few chairs and tables to sit and eat. The staff are knowledgeable about their products, and this seems like it would be a great place to spend a few hours, along with the bookstore next door.
