For those who enjoy the great outdoors, this is an amazing trail for people of all ages and disciplines. Walking, fishing, dog walking or biking all permitted. I myself took Ol’Red, snacks and plenty of water and hit the trail. We started in Terra Cotta. It took us approximately 2 hours to get to Tottenham which is approximately 41 km away. Several Photo ops, and small cafes along the route. The trail is the old railway line that has been covered by compact lime stone and some sections compact dirt paths. There is a gradual elevation towards Tottenham but it is very easy to traverse. In case some of you read other web reviews on this trail, be advised that they have built a bridge over Hurontario. I strongly advise those who intend to travel the entire distance to bring snacks and plenty of water. Check the weather conditions prior to you journey just incase of rain. Remember that you have parked your car in Terra Cotta so when you reach Tottenham, there is another 41kms back. Lol. I did notice people parking their cars along the route adjacent to road crossings. So if you don’t want to do the entire trip, from start to turn round to end, park your car somewhere along the route and start the path there. This trail isn’t heavily travelled. We encountered only a few other cyclist and a couple of dog walkers. On our journey back, Mother Nature presented us with a 20 min heavy downpour of rain. It was a great test of our ability and will yet we persevered and stayed our course.(We did come equipped with rain gear and had a change of clothing waiting for us back at base camp). The last two hours of our journey was full on sunshine. The trail was still very wet and the mud and goo stuck to our entire bodies reminded us of this epic journey. 82 kms. 4.5 hours. Oh yah, bug spray and sunscreen is a must. Peace out!
