Established in 1999.

Zirger Academy of Martial Arts is dedicated to the teaching and documentation of the process of learning, training and applying martial arts of many origins. Established by Shawn Zirger for the pursuit of Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do Concepts and Philosophy, the Academy has committed itself to facilitating and maintaining an environment where its students can develop their skills and challenge their limits.

Business Owner

Shawn Zirger is the Founder and head instructor at Zirger Academy of Martial Arts. Shawn has been training in Martial Arts since 1980 when he began studying Hungar Style Kung Fu, Shomak, Jong Park Tae Kwon Do, White Crane Style Kung Fu, Muay Thai before finding his element with Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do and Guro Dan Inosanto, the instructor who would inspire him to open his own school.

From 1990 till present Shawn continues to study many different martial arts, currently he holds three instructor level ranks in Jeet Kune Do and Filipino Martial Arts, and the title of Dog Brother for his many bouts fighting full contact with Sticks. Shawn is very active in his own training, upgrading his current knowledge and opening new lines of study.

Additionally, Shawn Zirger teaches and practices massage therapy, orthopedic testing and provides additional lifestyle coaching, personal and small group training, for personal fitness and or competitive athletic pursuits.
