Specialties
Picea 997 makes Neapolitan Pizza in a authentic hand built oven by Stefano Ferrara of Naples, Italy. The pies out of an oven of this caliber are fantastic and perfectly cooked. Our toppings are both exciting and traditional.
Our menu features some delicious sfizi e antipasti (starters and appetizers) salads and fun desserts made with a Neapolitan spin.
The restaurant celebrates Naples in all it’s glory and our wish is to introduce our customers to a food they might never had experienced before and to serve them with the utmost hospitality.
We are housed in a completely restored building that was once The Standard Bank of Canada in the emerging Dovercourt Village.
History
Established in 2012.
We knew the neighbourhood needed a restaurant and we knew we could build a great concept. However, it took over 2 years and the project presented many challenges and set backs but we believed in creating something that will be here for a very long time so we plugged away. The start of the project saw a restoration of the original property to lay the foundation for a restaurant. During the second phase the owner enrolled in Enzo Coccia’s pizza school in Naples, Italy and spent several months there learning the craft of making Neapolitan dough and pizza. The third phase saw the vision come to fruition and finally we opened June 26 th 2012!
