YoYo’s Yogurt Cafe

A nice café visually, but I warn you, the staff member I encountered was rude and uninviting. Wild curly black haired girl, who cursed around customers and looked totally shut off and bored… Not the kind of person you want when you’re winding down with fro-​yo.
The frozen yogurt itself wasn’t good. Well, in my opinion it’s more or less similar to Yogurtys (also not good fro yo) but the tart tasted really peculiar. Also, the fruit toppings were dripping with fruit juice (was sitting too long) an the kiwis were unacceptably old looking.
Won’t be back.

I was curious after the Unilocal reviews. The place is small and has only 6(?) flavors. Which is good in a way otherwise i there is too much choice. The only reason why is doesn’t have four stars is because of the choice of toppings. I always put in some M&Ms or smarties but it wasn’t there. I also missed the reeses pieces and the fruit wasn’t that fresh anymore (i came in around 8PM). Pineapple was all dried out and raspberries were smashed.

I really love this place! I’ve been coming here since they opened. I remember the first time I ever came here and the owner and staff were all SO friendly to the sweet UTS kids that would come in. I really like when businesses don’t just treat kids like crap, and so that go my vote. Plus the décor is funky, they’ve got a nice, large patio, it’s clean, and I don’t need 500 choices. I have a hard enough time deciding between the ones they have. I don’t ever bother with toppings but I’ve seen others get them and everyone seems pretty happy and excited. I will keep coming back since it’s great!

Comparable and often preferable to Menchie’s down the street! I particularly love the mango sorbet and I’m not lactose or anything (it’s lactose-​free but also just really really good!). Good but not overwhelming selection of toppings and it’s not packed like menchie’s, but the seating is pretty much non-​existent.

Tried this yogurt place on Saturday with friend. Really liked the ice cream-​like tasting yogurt! giving it 4 out of 5 marks because of the price.
The yogurt there was charged by weight. The delicious fresh fruit toppings can really build up the weight;(

I loveeeeeee their smoothie option — you get a cup, and fill it up with any yogurt or fruit that you want, and they’ll blend it together with some juice for you. I’m a huge smoothie snob and it’s hard to get stuff that tastes good, so being able to make my own is so fun!
They have a lot of cool flavors to try, but a lot of them are on rotation so make sure to get them before they go away!

My wife has deemed YoYo’s to be the king of froyo row.

Just went back today, and was over the moon to find they had a bunch of amazing (underline AMAZING) new flavours. The new raspberry, red velvet, and especially vanilla blew me away, somehow managing to be creamy like ice cream and non-​fat at the same time. Now, I’m usually a froyo purist, but I have to admit I had more of each the raspberry and vanilla than the original flavour (which, for me, never. happens).
Between this and Yogurt Spoon’s sloppy consistency over the past couple visits, I think Yoyo’s might be a serious contender, dare I say it, for best in all downtown.
Yoyo’s, you have won me over. I will be back, often, to have froyo made by someone who knows how.

I have become a YoYo’s addict. First off, they have a loyalty card. I need to get on this. Second, you get your fro-​yo FREE on your birthday. Everything is by weight, so if you really load that sucker up you can get a $ 10 thing of frozen yogurt for free.
I really enjoy all their options for toppings and the staff are super nice. They have a cute patio that is spacious (although I haven’t tried it yet) and the store is really neat and tidy. Let’s face it, anything that is «serve yourself» can turn into a complete pig-​pen relatively quickly.
Their green tea is good but I suggest doing the classic vanilla or chocolate. It allows for a huge assortment of toppings. With green tea you’re kind of limited to fruit items.
The one downside is they are super expensive and by weight. My first time coming I was totally unaware it was by weight and ended up with a $ 10 vat of yogurt with a bagillion toppings, to the point where I nearly threw up. My boss was paying, and my yogurt came to twice that of everyone else’s order… combined! So beware, it can add up quickly if you go cray-​cray with toppings.

I usually go to one of the other millions of yogurt shops in the Anenx but was actually pleasantly surprised at YoYos. I think it’s better.
The flavour options are way more and they change frequently, they even make you feel not so bad by offering low-​fat, no-​fat options, which is nice.
I made the mistake the first time of adding lots of toppings and it was damn expensive, the second time I went on Mother’s Day, it was free for Mother’s which I thought was cute and mine was less than $ 4 (no toppings but still great).
They were friendly and best of all there is a cute little patio!

I always come back to the classic tart flavour here. Not sure why but there’s something about that pucker-​up deliciousness that makes me come back. I live this place better than Menchies because there is more seating and it’s got a nice patio and it’s not too loud.

3.5 more precisely. Yogurth ice cream remain yoghurt… but this place is really OK and the large choice of topping (including the passion fruit and lychee bobbas — small juicy bubbles) can really turn your ice cream into a fabulous experience! and ice cream to be paid by the weight is really a cool idea for huge tummies like mine!
(and they have a loyalty card program!!! yeahh!!)
Added later: much cleaner than Menchie’s; staff much friendlier; ice cream much better and globally same toppings… so I made my choice!

So I tried out Yoyo’s offering to see how it measures up to Toronto Froyo standards (which is not much, considering the sheer size and diversity).
The store is located in a cute remodeled home on Bloor and the interior is much better looking than competitors as they lack the overly bright fluorescent lighting. They also outdo Menchies. This is one place I’d stay in to have my froyo. Service is very friendly though the staff tends to hide in the back room, but pop out as soon as you approach the cash/​topping area.
They’ve got a loyalty card which they jokingly said was for ‘street cred only’ but turns out to be worth something like a free cup when you hit $ 55 worth of froyo.
I really liked their froyo for itself, and the rotating flavours were fun to try out. The best flavours are their orginal tart and green tea. The chocolate flavour tastes no different than ice cream.
Decent array of toppings and Kudos for their offerings of Mochi, pineapple, mango, blackberries, and reese’s peanut butter pieces.
Things to change: Sample cups are not on the table and you have to request them. This is probably for the abusers of the sampling privilege
though a pain to the rest of us.
Also, I really feel there should be more fruit but demographics take precedence and the students nearby are probably more inclined to go for Cap’n Crunch and M&Ms for their munchies.

However I had plenty of sweeten Soy Milk.

I’m happy Soy Milk was one of the options.

It’s taken far too long for Toronto to catch on to the frozen yogourt craze, but the wait has paid off as the city has suddenly exploded with fro yo options. After having dipped my spoon into many a cup, I now feel that it’s my foodie duty to spread the word that YoYo’s is by far the best.
It could be that I’m just really tired of getting all of my senses assaulted by the competition’s amusement centre like décor lead by a mascot that looks like turd on acid. However, it’s probably more simple than that. I love YoYo’s because their fruit flavours don’t taste like Kool-​Aid mix, their fresh fruit toppings are not unripe (I’m looking at you, green bananas!), the entire experience is more civilized — tastings don’t require fighting your way through a hoard of sample slurping folks, and their product is over all just a lot tastier.
My current favourite combination is country vanilla with non-​dairy mango, but have heard great things about the orange creamsicle. The tangy green tea is a little too tangy for my taste, but I know people who really like it like that. The presence of all of the non-​fat signage makes me want to initiate a Seinfeld inspired lab test, but frankly, even proof of it being unhealthy couldn’t stop me from eating frozen yogourt. The availability of non-​dairy options makes it an inclusive experience for lactose intolerant and vegan friends.
Upon my first quick visit, I found the décor too simple, but now that I’ve spent more time on both the enclosed sidewalk patio and inside, I have to admit that the vibrantly raspberry and lime coloured walls, varied seating options (clear backless stools along counter tops and a very interesting wooden structure for four) show how much thought was put into designing the place.
The staff are also always really friendly and personable. In place of free stickers, there are free candies by the till. They don’t yet have mochi as a topping, but I’ve been told that it will be coming very soon. Hang tight!

For fear of having a heat stroke, my friend and I decided to stop walking along Bloor and sought refuge in YoYo’s. We weren’t particularly in a ‘froyo craving’ mood, but it was the first place we saw when we decided our health was important to us.
I’ve been to Menchies a few blocks away, closer to Bathurst, quite a few times. In all honesty, I had no idea of this place’s existence. Looking at the review dates, it’s not like this establishment ‘just’ opened. They don’t have as many flavors as their competition (… I *think* anyway), but there were enough … I think there were 8 flavors when I went on Wednesday. The tart flavor was pretty yummy and was refreshing after I had wandered in 40 degree weather.
You can have the froyo in two ways — either in a cup or a shake. I had eaten just before so I was stuffed and didn’t try the latter, but I think it’ll have to be my excuse to go back.
What I liked the most about this place was that right beside your froyo dispenser, you could see the calorie count on what you were going to consume. I’m on a Lifestyle Change Journey (hate the word ‘diet’) so it was really helpful for a calorie counter like myself.
I love the Menchies look, but I’m thinking that YoYo’s will have to my ‘go to place’ for froyo from now on.

So many Fro Yo dessert places popping up all Toronto. and Yo Yo’s just another one of those. Good but not amazing!
Tasted a few of their offerings, non fat, non dairy, low fat or what not. I find the original is the best as I love the tartness in it. The other fruity taste was a little disappointing.
YoYo’s does have a large selection of toppings, but I prefer my fro yo plain and simple so cannot really comment on that. But for sure don’t go crazy on the toppings. you be in shock when you cashing out! :)
Staffs are super friendly… and if you want to taste any of the flavours just ask!
The front patio is nicely set up. would be relaxing and enjoyable to enjoy your frozen treats and watch all the action along Bloor Street.

You have reaffirmed my faith that froyo can be a nice light dessert after my terrible experience at Menchie’s
Yoyo’s can easily be missed. Their building is set back from the sidewalk and is squished between the Metro and a dentist’s office. Watch for the banner that hangs out over the sidewalk to spot them.
They have 8 options here. Tonight when I visited they were serving a mixed berry, mango, red velvet, green tea, traditional, raspberry, chocolate, and one other which eludes me at the moment.
I tried the raspberry, green tea, and red velvet. The red velvet was good, not too sweet. Both the green tea and the raspberry were just tart enough to make your lips pucker slightly but not overly tart so that you make that weird face. I loved that they had so many fruit flavours of froyo.
The topping station was good and had some options you don’t normally see at places like this, like fuzzy peaches. The only shady looking thing in the station were the bananas. They had clearly been sitting in there for a while.
My only complaints are that they charge $ 0.55 per ounce, but I guess their location dictates the price a little, and the consistency of the froyo. I don’t know if it’s the machines they use or the brand of yogurt, but it seems like there is lots of air mixed into the yogurt. This made it seem to melt faster than most places I’ve been to.

It exceeded my expectation.
The place is cozy enough to sit down as you enjoy yogurt. Not ice cream but yogurt. Which is apparently healthier than ice cream.
You scoop and they weigh.
It is completely self serve which adds to the the thrill and minimizes long line ups. The neighboring Greg ice cream has sometimes a line up of up to twenty minutes.
Your dessert is your own creation — mix two or three flavors, add almonds, chocolate chips, mangoes or bananas. You can have as many yogurt combinations you can think of.
Stawberry non fat is my favorite and mango sorbet comes a close second. My niece loves the non fat chocolate yogurt. I go crazy with toppings because it certainly adds to the flavor.
It’s a small place so there isn’t any seating for a group of more than six. There are two long tables with six stools each. Two single sofas. And a zen-​like booth that seats four people.
Price is competitive compared to other dessert place.
The bell rings whenever someone enters and leaves the premises. It can be annoying after sitting there for half an hour.
You come back home… still hearing the bells in your head. Ding dong.

They’ve added more toppings, like: mochi (sooo good!), strawberry bobba (kind of like the tapioca in bubble tea but more squishy), and vegan cookie dough.
They also have a loyalty card now. You gets points for every dollar you spend, and I think when you get 50 points, you get $ 5 off or something like that (not a huge discount, works out to 10% off essentially).
Another reason this place is awesome: they have funny signs like «serve YO self»:P
