Vapor Central

Incredibly relaxing environment. The place to hang out and relax while you’re enjoying your soy green latte from starbucks waiting on your boyfriend. Free wifi. Clean products and space. Reasonable price for a nice hangout with a couple friends or if you’re visiting downtown Toronto for the day. Podcasts on certain days. Bong and vaporizer rentals. Bring-​your-​own-​herbs. Strictly no dealing so it feels nice and secure.

I came here last night with some of my American friends who were visiting for the first time.
It was my first time at Vapor Central as well. It was exactly as it sounds, a room filled with stoners, tables and couches and vaporizers as well as bongs you can rent. We rolled a joint and rented a bong. We asked for a $ 5 bong (the prices range from $ 5 – 15) and expected it to be small but it was a very good size.
Cover was $ 5 to get in and they close at 1am.
They also have a no tobacco rule, something to keep in mind.
They had South Park BLASTING! Could have been a bit lower! Apparently they have comedians sometimes but not while I was there.
The staff were really friendly and all around great vibes!

Came here for the Wednesday comedy night.
The show started about 30mins late.
No complaints though since it’s a nice, chill, really friendly atmosphere.
Just paid $ 10 cover which allows in/​out privileges. Very nice.
The remainder of the evening was spent on munchies which were fairly priced at convenience store prices.
All the equipment for vaping was free to borrow, just leave your ID and get it back when you return your stuff.
The staff was super friendly and helped with usage of the vaporizer.
The comedy show was entertaining and had it’s own unique charm.
All in all, a pretty fun venue.

This place just for existing probably deserves at least 2 stars. I wish I could give this place 4.25−4.5 stars, because there are only some minor details that could use improving. It is a fairly large space with couches for groups, and then tables behind them. The tables along the wall have vaporiser set ups while the middle tables do not.
Positives: — a place to smoke indoors
— Excellent cookies
— good balance of music and funny tv shows plus occasional movie
Negatives — Chairs can be a little uncomfortable after a while. Hopefully as revenue increases so does improvements to thing like these.
This place is not a hippie palace where everyone is sharing joints and holding hands. You go with your crew or yourself, and just stick to yourselves. The no socializing rule is one that I understand, but I can also see why someone would be put off from it, especially if the circumstance was pretty obvious that no one was dealing and perhaps you weren’t attempting to have a full convo you were just answering a basic question. To be fair though, the anti trafficking measures are part of what keeps this place afloat in the first place. The business clearly had to make some concessions.
The staff doesn’t give the most welcoming vibe, but they will help you if you need help.
As for tips, I recommend going in the early afternoon or later at night (830). It is pretty busy between 420 and 830 and if you want a couch you will likely have to wait in a queue.

Fat Main Comedian Makes Fun of his Audience thinking its Comedy. And when he has nothing else to say he makes Farting noises.
I wanted to come and get away to a Happy environment, instead I felt uneasy, and sorry for who ever he took shots at. Thats not Comedy, thats a 10 year old screaming out for attention.

I originally gave this place 5 stars but i think i was just so happy that i didnt have to smoke joints in the cold anymore. Its still the best vape lounge in the the city, but it could be better.
Its spacious, and has many different areas to sit, they have sofa areas for big groups, the bar area, small single tables, and larger tables for 4 with vaporizers on. They have rizzlas available, they rent you grinders, bongs, and you can use the vaporizers. You can smoke joints inside which is much more appealing than the hot box café in Kensington, and its much bigger. They show really funny tv shows and movies sometimes inbetween the hip hop music playing, and the cookies are amazing. I see a few people with their laptops watching netflix with their earphones in, their wi-​fi is really good too. However the comedy is a bit hit and miss, with slightly more miss :(
I like how easy it is there, to get a membership, then you can just walk in, swap them your id for a grinder and vape bag/​bong, sit down and enjoy. They offer everything you need. All the staff are really nice and friendly, although sometimes a bit too stoned to remember to smile at people. So they don’t always appear approachable but they are all nice.
I dropped a star, because I don’t really enjoy the space, it could be more welcoming and comfortable. i dont like the décor, it gives off bad vibes. the seats are small and hard, its dark in there, everything is dark in there actually, but they do play good music … Although its deafening sometimes.
There are lots of different people here, mainly 20 – 30 something yr old guys but there are a few girls too, aswell as older people. There are loads of regulars that know each other, but new customers are always welcome, which I’ve found to not be the case in other vapour lounges.
All in all, if you cant smoke weed at home, here is the best place to come, super easy, really chilled, and its warm and safe

Not friendly at all. One time, when I was there, I was at a table for 4, alone (there was nowhere for a single person to sit as those spots were taken). Somebody came in looking for somewhere to sit and couldn’t find a seat so I offered to share my table. I showed them how to use the vapourizer. I got in shit. Apparently you aren’t allowed to TALK to anybody you didn’t come in with. Nice. And the place seems to be run by the two brothers from The Proclaimers, who never, ever smile at you. Ever. Ever. Let my membership expire and won’t be back.

A great place to chill out.
I haven’t been using medical mj for very long, maybe 2 years now. Everywhere I go I’m learning new things and VC is a great place for even newbs like me to feel comfortable to hang out and ask questions. There are *so many* different kinds of people using cannabis for *so many* different reasons now, vapour lounges like this that are inclusive are worth so much more than some perhaps hippie-​r places or whatever. I’m a post-​punk older lady who doesn’t exactly «fit in» there, but they are making me feel welcome, nonetheless. I got to try a volcano vaporizer (yesssss), and drank a lot of $ 1 bottles of water, and next time will bring my own sandwich. =D No smoking is great, and no alcohol keeps everyone in a happy mood, it seems. I feel totally safe in there. =)

Great place and awesome music good place to chill out and it’s cheap Cost only $ 5 to get in.

It is a great place to hang out with your friends on a Saturday night than the club. Since Cannabis is illegal because big Pharma hates competition and your parents are brainwashed to the idea os marijuana is a devil drug, I would go here and have a good time. Seriously, you cannot smoke in your house and with $ 5, you can come here and have a toke and do your homework. I do homework faster and more efficiently here than at school or at home. People here are very friendly and helpful and they made your time there fun. There is no fight or arguing happening here. People are high and happy, not drunk and angry. I would come back any day to chill here with my people.

Vapor Central is the largest vapour lounge in Toronto.
Couches, vapourizers, bongs, TVs, music, comedy shows — it’s all there.
It’s $ 5 to get in most of the time. The place is shaped like a rectangle with a bar-​type area (no alcohol of course). Seating is a mix of couches, stools/​high top tables, and regular seats and tables. While being the largest in the city, it’s not huge.
Some rules they have posted: no tobacco/​cigs, no blunts, no alcohol, and no dealing. You gotta be 18+ to get in. I‘ve seen people being denied entry for not having ID.
Use of the vapourizers is included in the entry fee but you have to pay extra if you want to rent a bong.
To get the equipment for the vapourizer (bag, mouthpiece, and chamber), just go to the back counter and ask for it. Note: they might hold onto your ID. They have the most vapourizers compared to the other lounges in Toronto (about 20, maybe a little more). You can also rent grinders for free.
There’s a water cooler, they sell drinks and snacks, and they have some cards and board games which are free to use. You can also grab some free papers and filters if you need (not entire packs, just a few).

In my experience, the majority of people who visit this place are guys in their 20s. Sometimes it’s more mixed but I often find this to be the case. Although it might not be scary/​ghetto, I could see some people feeling out of place (women and older folks). You shouldn’t feel worried though. It’s usually relaxed and laid back.
They have live entertainment on some nights (mostly comedy) and that’s usually $ 10. If you leave before the show starts, you’ll only pay $ 5. If you get there after the show ends, you’ll pay $ 5. But one time there was no show going on and I still had to pay $ 10 so it can be confusing, but that has only happened once in my many visits. I saw one of their comedy shows. The comics did short sets, were kinda amateur-​ish, and mostly talked about weed. It wasn’t that funny but it probably varies from week to week. They record shows and post them to their YouTube channel so you can check some out before you go see one.
They also do live podcast tapings sometimes which is usually $ 7.50. I don’t think this is the right type of venue for that though as I often see that most people don’t really pay attention to these things.
They get really busy sometimes. You might have to wait for a table and/​or vapourizer. Just as an example, Saturday evenings are probably the busiest and wait times can be over an hour. But other times it’s pretty empty.
Sometimes they play movies/​shows on the numerous TVs they have and other times they just play music. Some things I don’t like:
1) they put the volume a little too high sometimes in my opinion,
2) sometimes they play the same type of music for hours or when there is variety there’s no flow and the selection sounds very random,
3) sometimes they play movies/​TV shows but don’t turn the volume on and instead play music over it. Why?! Why put on an episode of The Simpsons if we can’t hear it?
4) sometimes they play stuff like horror movies which can be a buzzkill. Come on, put on a comedy so we can laugh and have a good time, not get paranoid.
Even though I hate these things, there are other times when things are more smooth.
The staff are usually good. There are, however, one or two employees who always look angry and don’t seem too welcoming. So maybe look for someone else if you need help or have lots of questions.
Good place overall. It remains my go-​to vapour lounge in Toronto because of the size, location (on two subway lines), and good hours (open til 1am everyday).

Now in its 5^th year of continuous operation, Vapor Central remains the go-​to destination for medical & recreational users alike in the downtown area. VC is also the spiritual home to the marijuana activist group, The Hash Mob.
Whether you are new to the scene and have no idea what a vaporizer is or how to use one, or an old pro who does dabs in her sleep (I’m looking at you Indica Blue!), VC is a friendly, safe place to try something new and have a great time.
There is live entertainment every night of the week, and while there is a small cover to compensate the performers, the costs are reasonable.
If you are a regular attendee, might I suggest getting a monthly or yearly membership? That way, you can put the $ 5 you would have given at the door to the well-​stocked snack bar at the back.
Oh yes … you can also rent bongs while you are there. and there are loads of Volcano vaporizers all over the room, so even when it is busy, you’ll always find a place to have a session with friends.
The demographic is decidedly mixed. There is a core group of under 25’s as well as an equally large numbers of over 40’s too. The important thing to know is that regardless of your age or level of experience with cannabis, Vapor Central is a safe, clean place where you (or you and your friends) can have a great night. You never know who might be there, which is part of the fun.
Remember to bring your own bud, as there is a strict no selling/​no mooching policy in effect.

I’d like to begin my review by saying that I am a member, frequent customer and friends with the staff.
I love how the staff greet you with a friendly smile, tend to your needs accordingly, joke with you at the snack bar, and discuss ANYTHING with you. Literally anything. Legislation, the city, restaurants, cats, you name it, they’ll talk to you about it.
I love how the music is excellent and depending on when you go, you’ll hear dubstep, classic rock, indie alternative, gangster rap, classic hip-​hop, electro, etc and occasionally a movie is shown on the TVs. Good movies too!
I love how the munchies bar has virtually any candy, soda, chips you could want and friendly staff to tell you what’s available if you’re too blazed to figure it out yourself. The stuff is cheap as hell too!
Weedy Wednesdays (the weekly comedy show) is the best! There is a bong hitting competition at the end where two random people hit a bong, dance to music and the crowd decides which one gets the prize: Smoking Papers, filters, and a Ukrainian Gypsy-​Proof lighter that has a retractable lanyard thingy on it so you can clip it to your pants and not worry about Ukrainian gypsies stealing it from you and taking it to their underground lair and putting a curse on you or something… the guy there explains it best.
My ONLY GRIPE with the place is that it is up a big flight of stairs. If you’re high as hell and you’re leaving the place you get paranoid as hell, hoping you won’t trip up and fall even though you probably won’t. Unnecessary anxiety is never a good thing.
Once I went outside for a cigarette (you can only smoke weed and hash at VC — no tobacco or blunts) and tripped over my shoelace and whacked my head on a guy’s bike as he was passing by. I was knocked out for a few minutes and my eye was leaking blood. Long story short I needed stitches and I have an ugly scar that exists on my face to this day, but the staff, upon hearing about what happened, cleaned my wound with alcohol, bandaged me and got me a bottle of Nestea for free.
Being a member, I get in for free ($ 5 when there’s a show), I get half price bong rentals, and discounts at the front where they sell papers, pipes and whatnot. It’s totally worth it if you go often.
Long story short, I love VC.

Me and 3 of my fave potheads headed here Sunday night at 8pm. We were all stoked. We’d all been to the Hot Box Café a number of times and I’d enjoyed the Vape Lounges in Amsterdam — we were expecting something similar. This is probably the most cheap-​a** experience I have ever had.
We had to pay $ 5 in cover, an extra $ 2 for the «performance», $ 2-​$ 30 depending on the bong you want to rent, plus 15% of the cost of any food you bring in. The last part just didn’t make sense to me.
We all felt really outta place too. I would describe us as mainstream hippies. EVERYONE in here was dressed like they were out of a G-​Unit music video (or what ever the reigning Rap Artists are right now). They were playing Rap, Hiphop, occasionally some trippy stoner tunes. I just didn’t like the vibe — I felt like I was gonna get shanked at any minute.
As for the Open-​Mic: the comedian sucked. Guess what he talked about? Getting high for the first time… real creative, huh? There was an artist after him, take a gander at what song he sung — «Burn one down»…not the most cutting edge of people… although I guess they’re all pretty blunt… HAHA get it — «blunt».

Vapor central is great and laid back place to go vaporize or smoke some bud. It is BYOW and has a strict no tobacco no alcohol policy, it is usually 5 $ to get in and volcanos are free to use. There are bongs and other things you can rent for cash, price depending on what you pick. The staff are usually very friendly and stoned haha. The vibe of this place is always very welcoming and the live shows are great.
My only complaint is that sometimes you have to re-​pay the 5 dollar entry fee at night if there is entertainment even if you already paid earlier in the day.
