This place is extremely strict about overserving alcohol. We were there one time and one member of our group had a little too much to drink. Mind you, we were completely able to help him home. He lived right next door and was not driving. What did they do? They put a lifetime ban on serving everyone in our party, for no good reason. I appreciate that there are reasons behind these rules around alcohol, but this establishment takes it way overboard I felt like I was in a dictatorship like North Korea or something. For this reason, I will not be inviting my friends back there in the future. It’s a shame, because there are very few pubs left in the Yonge and Eglinton area.

The food is quite poor here. Service is fine, pints are decent, but not worth spending an hour at to eat a meal or have a pint. I had the nachos and chicken fingers and they were really bad.

The place has good interiors, good food options but gets crowded and can get a bit tight. The food is reasonably good — check out their specials that include Brocolli Cheddar soup, Chicken Burger and the Salmon with Rice. The wait staff is mixed — some of them are good and some of them get rude as the crowd picks up(especially a guy with the Pony tail). They have quite a few TVs and you can catch up the games there. The washrooms are clean(which makes me give them an additional star!).Overall, a decent place but not ideal for big groups.

Came here on Thanksgiving with few friends. This is a really nice pub in the area. I ordered the Monday special(Burger & Butlers). Burger comes with fries and it was tasty. Beer was light. My friends had wings and they enjoyed it. Overall clean and spacey pub with comfy booths. Friendly service. Grab few friends and head over there for some beer and pub food.

I just wanted to follow up with another poor experience I had with your location last night. First and foremost your server seemed uninterested in building any sort of relationship with us. It was very down to business. What can I get you and so on — then we wouldn’t see her for quite some time. We ordered a beer and my wife who was feeling under the weather ordered a tea. We also started with appetizers which were deep fried pickles. On to the main course. My wife had small nachos and I had chicken strips and fries. Upon receiving our food i smelt quite fishy smell coming from my chicken fingers. I had stopped the waitress to inquire and informer her of my allergy of primarily shell fish but was concerned with eating these and had asked if they had fish n chips on the menu. She said they did but it is the guests responsibility to inform them of any allergy. I agreed and mentioned that I had dined there many times before and never had a concern. She said they always cook fish on the same place as they cook the chicken and they would have to take the recommendation of the kitchen on how to proceed. After about 2 or 3 trips from the kitchen to our table she finally said she would be able to cover this as a one time exception but going forward its my responsibility to inform and protect my food contact of allergies. My goal was not to get a free dish just seek understanding and offering of something new to eat that I was fully willing to pay for — both dishes in fact I was prepared to pay for. I have never had a reaction like this. Although never paid for the dish I felt quite bad and she made me feel as if it was her doing something out of her way. In no way was I attempting to get a free dish, rather just maybe something else to eat(which she only offered to wrap up the chicken fingers and take home) This is the second time we’ve had a poor experience at this location and will not return. The management need to focus on whether this is a bar or a restaurant because right now only the service on beer and drinks are ok.

Big big fan !!! This place is SUPERIOR. Actually, it’s the best, just the best. The foremost bar in the area, the paramount. What can I possibly say that hasn’t been said a thousand times before? I categorically approve!!!

Where to start — We walked in — bartender didn’t seem to be excited about having new customers — Ordered a Kamikaze — she wanted me to order beer — think she had to look it up. Got my drink which was pretty good — that is why it got two stars and not 1 — Finished my drink and had to walk up after 10 minutes to get a second one(Also reluctantly made) — I asked her about the Fish and Chips seeing how this was an English/Canadian pub. She told be she preferred the halibut(They were out of it) I ordered it anyway — came out only one piece for 17 dollars. The fish was yummy, flaky, and juicy. The fries were great the coleslaw tasted rancid — I ended up not getting sick — My friend got a burger(Which was sub par) could only order it medium well or well done — sign of a place that can’t cook. Overall the food was a 3 out of 5 rancid taste and all — The service was terrible and we felt very unwelcome — maybe it was because we’re from Florida — I would have spent twice as much money maybe more if she has gotten me buzzed enough.

the patio is really really nice and private. has music and TV, s. it good atmosphere. this place is good day or night, the food is not bad. the service is good. they have thursday night singer on guitar in the front. the drinks are OK,. but if you ask for a double they charge for two drinks instead of just adding the price of a shot. they have a good selection and pleasant cocktails for the summer. this place is a little $$ compared to all the other places on the strip. but it is worth it. i tried the yorkie, it was so good. The food is decent. the portions are good. they to changed it up from time to time. the staff are wonderful, although i do seem to see a change over a lot. Inside the place is set in a british trendy look, not like the old pub that it used to be. it is clean. and dont smell. Good date night place. or watching sports, or lunch with co workers. Parking is behind the place in public garage

The Firkins have recently spent mucho dinero revamping and redecorating their pubs. This is one of the flagship locations on Yonge. Its always rammed and hence when we went the service was quite slow. Generic Beer, Generic bar.

A clean pub, with decent atmosphere(I love the bowler hat lights), great staff and OK food. There aren’t a ton of great options near my work at Y&E for drinks so we end up here after work a few times a month.

The fox is awesome. Great vibes, friendly staff, delish food. I am here way too often(shhhh, don’t tell my trainer). Great spot for a young-crowd weeknight and for catching matches/games. Small but swank. Recently renovated, check it out. I’ve had a-many meals here… None bad but a few more memorable. You can not go wrong with the sandwiches, burgers and the fish and chips. And the beers on tap, duh… Helluuuurr. The turkey Cobb salad is also a great protein-healthy option. But… I(strongly) RECOMMEND: Firkin burger is like crack on a bun! The Mac and cheese with meatballs is not half bad either! EXTRATIP: best burger side so far: sweet potato fries for sure. Or ask for gravy with your regular fries. delish. Lots more side options though, including Greek salad.

Me and my girlfriend have been going to this bar for the past 10 months, at least once or twice a month, so first thing… service is GREAT! never had a complain, always been served promptly, food doesn’t take that long even on busy nights. On saturdays they have my favourite draft beer at $ 5(creemore), so you cant beat that. The reason why i dont give it 5 stars its because the menu has nothing special and the prices(outside promotions) are not great. At this place you will always find UFCPPV events and NHL games, and a decent amount of screens for the size of the bar, and no cover.

This is probably the cleanest and most updated pub in the Yonge & Eg area. Obviously, it’s a chain so don’t expect anything to particularly wow you, but they do have $ 5 pints every day and you’re not hit with a waft of mildewed carpeting upon entrance, which is a huge plus for me.

This Firkin looks REALLY dated. Considering the boring menu, completely tasteless french fries, and the dirty carpet that looks like it was laid in the 70s, I would at least expect cheaper prices. $ 50 for two people having a sandwich and 2 draft each. The staff are actually not bad and one of the more decent things about the place. But this does not make up for the overall experience. I have to recommend you go to Duke of Kent or one of the other pubs in the area instead.

ok out of all the Yonge and Eg pubs, this is the worst in my opinion, but really it’s not that bad. It’s one floor going all the way to the back, but they have a patio too. But the patio is kinda hidden in the back and so when you eat there, it feels like shit is flying into your food from all the construction happening behind the building/too loud. This is why my lunch crew stopped coming here on fridays. It seemed like the construction was never going to stop(over two summers now). But at the end of the day, it’s a firkin with firkin food and firkin beer. and it’s cold beer.

This place is NOT my favourite pub in the area, it just always feels a bit dirty. I love a good dark dank pub but this one misses the mark feeling grungy and open rather than dark and cozy. It’s pretty small inside. I’ve ordered Nachoes and wings here and they were fine. There is really just nothing that makes this place worth going back for.

Made it to the Movies just in time… We had to find a quick 45 minute dinner before the movies it was either fast food or the Firkin, glad we went with the Firkin. Quick friendly service, we could have stayed 2 hours and I would still give this place a good review.

No, just no. I am not one to visit chains in my hometown or even travel hours on end to sit in a Canadian bar-like, run down Friday’s. But, it was late, near our hotel and suggested by a local as a ‘no frills’, please all option. Waitress was sweet but slow. Prices were insane, even for Canada. $ 11.95 for a glass of Fat Bastard wine? That is just slightly higher than a bottle, a bottle. First glass was skunky, I could smell the skunk — did not even have to taste it. Gross atmosphere. Pretty empty for a Saturday night. Guess everyone is aware to avoid this place.
