What a nice find! I like the interior and look of this small joint. I went here for the first time, and I was impressed. The owner (I’m guessing) was very friendly and let me pick what type of coffee bean to use in my latte by letting me smell them. There were three different beans and they were all lovely. It’s evident that he puts a lot of care into making the drinks. I was handed a stamp card as well: every 12th coffee is free! Decent pricing and a decent drink! On top of that there’s a student discount for UofT students. The cup was smaller than the average coffee cup, but I can’t take that much caffeine anyway so it was perfect for me.

The Coffee Lab is a very welcome addition to the northernmost part of the U of T campus. For those of us who hang out around this area a lot, Josh’s excellent coffee has quickly become part of our daily routine; I’m constantly seeing colleagues and friends leaving his shop just as I’m coming in to get my caffeine fix.

I’ve waited years for something like the Coffee Lab to open up near this intersection — excellent coffee for good value! Josh seems very knowledgeable about his craft. I’ve recommended this place to all my friends and colleagues as an alternative to the drab chain coffee shops in the area.
