WORST customer and technical service I have received in MY LIFE. I cannot believe such scams get approval to work. The service couldn’t be more terrible. I had a screen to replace, and I had to visit the store 4 TIMES AFTER THE REPAIR. Each time, the screen failed a few hours after repair. Not only the store owner, Rich, didn’t fix our phone, he damaged the front camera and volume buttons. Even if he offers to fix my phone, I wouldn’t go back because I don’t want the rest of the phone damaged! STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM!

I wish I had seen the other reviews earlier! Would have saved me a lot of hassle and money. I took my fully functioning iPad mini here to repair a cracked screen, based on a personal recommendation. After THREE repairs (where I had to keep going back to the store), I kept having the same major new issues: the screen was separating from the case, it was turning itself off at random, and phantom touch points were being activated when I wasn’t even touching the device at all. Richard, the short man in a baseball hat and oversized sweatshirts that seems to be the only person ever at the store, initially told me he’ll get his boss to buy me a replacement ipad, since he thinks they owe me that. Then he told me his boss got mad at him for offering this to me and asked me to not say anything because he’s afraid he will lose his job over this and he has small children and is on the verge of depression (talk about inappropriate!). He also told me if I wait until he gets paid, he will personally buy me a new ipad to replace mine. Two months later, I have a completely unusable device (half the time I can’t even log in and when I can, it barely lasts more than a minute before going berserk again). They have stopped responding to messages. I have asked a dozen times to speak to the owner and have been promised a phone call on more than one occasion. That’s never happened. When I went to the store again to ask to speak to the owner, he blatantly refused, laughed at me, and called the police to get me to leave. I found out from the police officer that he and his wife are the owners, so there is no other mysterious owner and Richard has been lying to me this whole time. Completely disgusted with his attitude and actions. I am stuck with a device I can’t use or sell. Do NOT take your business here. This was a very costly mistake.

I shattered the screen on my Galaxy S5 and needed to have it replaced. I spent days searching for a good place and time after time, I came back to Stellar Cellular. Stellar Cellular specializes in phone repair, so my review is about their repair services.
I tried to go by on a Monday but they weren’t open. There were a few other people outside looking to see if they were open too, so I knew it must be good if people were going by at 11 on a weekday. Next time I called before I went to make sure they were open ;)
When I talked to the guy on the phone (Richard), he said my repair could be one of two things, either just the glass or the entire screen. Just the glass was cheaper, but would take longer, and the whole thing was faster but more expensive, but that he could fix it that day no problem. I was prepared to pay the higher price right off the bat, so I was happy he was willing to check to see which type of repair I needed instead of just charging the higher price even if it wasn’t necessary.
When i got to the store, Richard took my phone and punched in some stuff to bring up a screen and was able to test my screen right in front of me so we could see which type of repair I’d need. Turned out to only be the glass, which was great (cause it was cheaper!) and he told me he’d need a few hours to get it done. I called later that afternoon when I was finishing up at work and he said it’d be ready in about 45 minutes. The amount of time to fix it was longer than i expected but still incredibly reasonable given it was a Friday afternoon.
Picked it up and it looks brand spanking new! Working perfectly, looks perfect and I’m super super happy with it! All in the repair cost me less than $ 170, much MUCH cheaper than getting a new phone. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone needing a screen repair!

Low quality + no warranty + bad attitude = never going back to Stellar Cellular.
I broke my iPhone 6’s screen and I sent it to stellar; they fixed it and charged me $ 125 — fair price.
But only one week after, my screen popped out with no reason (the phone was fine before a class and it just stopped working afterwards). I went back and they blamed me for not taking care of the phone and asked me for $ 160 (even $ 35 more!!!) to fix the screen which they just fixed several days ago.
I argued that they have responsibility for the phone because it was fixed here, and it is just UNREASONABLE to pay more to solve the same problem. But they did not care. They were busy doing their stuff and didn’t even bother giving me a glance. I was absolutely angry and I just walked out of the store and they did not give a shit.
So in short: DON’T GO.

If i could give this place a 0 rating, i would. Horrible workmanship, horrible customer service. They messed up both my phones 3 times and I finally walked out because they couldn’t fix one of the phones that they messed up in the first place. I rarely give bad reviews, but this store shouldn’t be in business.
On the first visit, i brought 2 phones in with cracked screens. I was told to come back in 2 hours. When i went back the guy said he didn’t have white screens and trashed his staff for not telling him. Then he said he would give me a discount if I came back and paid cash. I went back and he blasted me for not being appreciative of the ‘deep discount’. When i went to pick up the phones, i later noticed that one had dead zones and the other had a disconnected microphone. I phoned him to tell him and he said «figures it would be YOUR phone. After what I’ve charged you, i now have to work on it twice». Like it was my fault. However, I just wanted my phones fixed, so i went back to have him repair the damage he caused. When I went to pick them up, they told me that they could only fix one phone. They said that the one with the broken microphone must have been given to them that way and they refused to fix it. It’s my daughter’s phone and then the guy with the red beard said something derogatory about my daughter who wasn’t even there! I walked out with one fixed phone and one phone which is of no use to me. This place is toxic.
STAY AWAY!

I responded to an ad on kijiji and was asked to pick up the item at the store.
The good: I got a Kobo Aura for $ 80.
The bad: I went in at 5:20pm so maybe their sales staff had left for the day but the guy who brought me the ereader had very poor customer skills. All my questions were answered with dumb snarky comments. I would hate to deal with him in case something breaks down or the product is defective.
Conclusion: I personally value good customer service hence I won’t be going back but for you the reader I will say that their prices seem reasonable so it might just be worth it

Recently my iPhone 5 stopped charging. Needing immediate service, as I depend on my phone for work, I was referred to them and decided to give them a try. In under an hour I walked out with my repaired and charged phone in hand. Great price and service, truly Stellar. Thank you again.

A couple of weeks ago, an friend came to me with an iPhone 4S, which she wanted to unlock. She had shattered the screen on her 5C and didn’t have the money at the time to get it repaired. Her cousin gave her her old 4S but it was locked to the wrong provider. Her provider wanted $ 50 to unlock it so I checked out some online options. Thinking I had found one, I paid $ 20 only to find out that their «unlock» involved factory resetting the phone, which was not an option.
Having purchased a secondhand cell phone from Stellar Cellular before, I gave them a ring. The guy told me over the phone that he could unlock the 4S in 10 minutes for $ 20. So we went over there and the guy got started on it right away. It didn’t take long and as he finished, he mentioned in passing that picture messaging (MMS) would not work and that she wouldn’t be able to update the IOS software ever again. This information would have been nice to have before starting the process, considering that my friend uses picture messaging all the time.
Feeling embarrassed, I had a private conversation with my friend, trying to mitigate the situation. At the same time, I was trying to purchase her old phone to try fixing myself. The same guy who fixed the phone was eavesdropping the whole time and rudely interjected to correct me on some inconsequential points and suggested that I was lowballing her on the purchase price.
A) I had to account for the time I spent explaining things to her and walking her around (I run a consulting business — time is money)
B) IT IS NONE YOUR BUSINESS STELLAR CELLULAR MAN!
Many people come to me looking for smartphone repairs, that I am not equipped to deal with. This is the absolute last time I ever send anyone to Stellar Cellular.

This is on account of a specific experience, and I had debated on whether to post this. Obviously, I opted to update my review, since you can read this.
I brought my old iPhone 5 in to be unlocked, as I was giving it to my girlfriend. Given my otherwise positive experiences with Stellar, I went there immediately with the excitement of giving my girlfriend a phone that actually works.
Well, what followed was this: After not hearing back from anyone there, I stopped in a week later to learn that the phone hadn’t been touched because the person who helped me apparently hadn’t written a service order for my phone. The owner (who is extremely helpful) was very apologetic and said he would get back to me the minute the phone was unlocked.
A few days later, I go to pick up the phone, and have my girlfriend’s SIM card cut down to fit. The phone wasn’t unlocked, and what was worse is that my girlfriend’s card was now useless. This resulted in a trip to the Eaton Centre (I hate that place and hope it will fall back into the hellhole it arose from) to get a replacement.
It took about three weeks in total. Not terrible, until I learned that not only could Telus unlock the phone (my mistake, I should have checked first), but it would have only been $ 35. That is substantially better than the $ 120 I paid at Stellar.
So, I do feel a bit ripped off, especially after being patient about the whole process. I guess it balances itself out universally (I saved a bunch of money getting my computer’s battery replaced there), but still, I can’t help but be a bit bummed out.

Great service and fast repairs. I got my iPhone screen fixed here and I was 100% happy with the way it turned out. For a very reasonable price, I had my screen replaced in under 30 minutes. The owner is super nice and made great conversation as well. I would highly recommend this shop.

These guys were able to fix my LG phone that I had bought in the states and ordered the part for me. They were super busy when I got there so I had to wait a little longer than I probably normally would have to there. The fact that they were that busy suggests they are doing something right. I’d give them 5 stars if they hadn’t misquoted me by $ 10.
Highly recommend them though.

Love these guys! They are straight forward, tell you if it can be done or why it can’t be done and best of all, their prices are very reasonable. The shop is small and lacks the glitz of a Telus store but makes up for it with geeky ambiance and no-​nonsense service. Professional. Affordable. Safe. Trustworthy. Really glad I found these guys.
In the past, I’ve had an ipod screen repaired, my iphone’s earphone jack receptacle thingy repaired, bought various iphone accessories and had them jail-​break a Samsung Note 3 all without any glitches.

These guys are the most unprofessional, snobbish (yes, there are even snobs that barter $#!+ cellphones), and generally miserable people on college street (that’s saying a lot for the street that has most hipsters per household in Canada).
I went in to ask about purchasing a smart phone, and this gross, lazy, heavy, Asian girl just snarls at me. I don’t know if she hadn’t been fed yet or if she was nursing one of her litter, but she was miserable and it was clearly fright night in stellar cellular. Any product I asked about I’d get a 2 word response (ie: ya maybe, ugh probably, I guess). I’m sorry I inconvenienced you!
During our exhilarating verbal exchange a mousey little man (apparently the owner, and gross girls husband) came in and acted like I was stupid for not knowing all the latest features. I came here for a new phone, which means I probably don’t know about all the new stuff yet! I guarantee this guy plays Magic the Gathering. Napoleon Syndrome at its finest.
Look, I’m not looking to make a new best friend, but cut the holier than thou shtick. Owning a cell phone repair shop doesn’t make you hot $#!+, you’re on the same level as the Quik-​E Mart.

Been here twice now. Purchased several iPhone cases for my iPhone 4 and paid only $ 5. They also do iPhone unlocking and repairs for cheap. My gf got a portable battery for $ 20. Best prices on iPhone stuff and friendly staff!
Update: I had them listed at a 5-​star review but had to lower it after my gf had some problems getting a battery installed on her iphone 3Gs. It seems they either had some faulty batteries or they were trying to install the wrong type of battery because she took it to i-​repair the next day and they installed one without a problem.
I think they are great for unlocking and accessories but might need some more experience in the hardware replacement area.

The Stellar Cellular Family have never let me down! And they truly Do have a sense of Family in the store… They almost always have what I’m am in need of (cell phones) and if they don’t have it… chances are they will aquire it for you within days!
Even when there is a line up in the store (yes, they are that popular ;)…the service is efficient, no baloney… and everyone gets aknowledged!

The customer service was unfortunately poor. I realize that it’s a small business, but this was a bit much.
I called 4 times over 3 weeks to get a quote on my Samsung phone’s screen replacement. Each time I was asked for my name and phone number, and told they would call me back with the info.
I never received a return call.
After the 3 weeks I went into the store. The person who fixes the phones wasn’t there and I was told that nobody else could help me.
90% odds they had my business if they just communicated with me. I ended up fixing my phone at Futuretel in Markham.

The store is a little sparse in the video game department but if you’re looking for older systems then check these guys out. They had lots of Gamecubes and Nintendo 64’s in the display cases. There isn’t a ton of selection of games, but they sell new and used so you might be able to find a good deal on one of those titles you’ve been meaning to pick up but never got around to doing so.
It would seem that these guys make their money on cell phone protectors and repairs. They have dozens of different colours and styles for most popular phones. At the back of the store is what looks like a work area for cell phone repair. The woman working that day didn’t have the opportunity to help me as she was on the phone with a potential customer looking for screen protectors, which they have a good selection of.
