Startec Global Communications

I never heard of Startec before today and hope I never hear of them again. I sometimes use Dar Communications for international calls. Their access code is 101 9898. I must have mis-​dialed and entered 101 6868, so I see a charge of $ 27 on my ATT bill for a 25 minute call to Pakistan. And Startec says «you made the call so you have to pay.» Why would anyone in their right mind use Starttec when they can make that same call with other long distance carriers for under $ 3? They just hope you will mis-​dial so they can get your money.

THE WORST COMPANY EVER! They started to charge my credit card after 3 months. However it was nothing written in the confirmation letter that they had sent me by Email. They just mention with a small font in their website that you will be charged after 3 months. I was no longer in the US and I just used that service for 2 – 3 times. I suddenly found out my credit card is going to be charged every month! I found out after 3 – 4 months. I called them for refund as I even havent used the service for that months. They said there is no refund! And I canceled the account after a long process of cancelation! Yestrrday they charged my credit card again! I asked them why! They said you canceled in a billing cycle! And there is no proration! Because i cancelled in the «second day of billing cycling «they charged me for «a month!!» I never recommend this company. Also they are rude and disrespectful.

Startec is a fraudulent company which was charging my credit card for one year without any use. Since the charges were less than $ 6/​mo, I did not pay much attention. My bad.
I have cancelled my account. They of course did not want to reverse the fraudulent charges and I don’t have the time to deal with a total of $ 70 in fraudulent charges.
They have many complaints filed against them with the FCC. Shame on the FCC for not shutting them down.

This is the worst company ever. For the past 3 months my line wasn’t working at all. I couldn’t make any calls. Each time I called they were making me stay on the line telling they don’t know what the problem is and they will open the ticket.
I got tired of it and called to cancel my service. Took me almost an hour being transferred back and forth between people who cannot speak proper English. Their customer service is in India most likely, and you cannot expect them to be able to solve any problem. Not only this but they also charged me money for the 3 months I didn’t have service with them and refused to reimburse me my money. Ridiculous. The WORST company on the market. The WORST customer service on the market. I am so glad I cancelled my services with them.
