Established in 2013.

The Ontario Academy of Technology was founded with a question in mind: How can we demonstrate to students the overall structure being developed in the myriad of technical high school courses? At OAT, we go beyond the regular curriculum expectations and demonstrate to students the overlap between technical courses.

The nature of teaching a curriculum is that students are evaluated on well defined criteria. For many students, succeeding in a course means demonstrating to their teacher an ability to achieve the outcomes specified in the curriculum. We’d like to offer a different attitude. We’d like to see students achieving, not in the sense that they’ve earned their teacher’s recognition for having learned, but instead for learning that it is their own recognition which is being developed.
