History
Established in 2003.
The story of Space Vintage started in 2003. At the time, Ashlene was working as a shiatsu massage therapist out of a small basement unit in the historic Mirvish Village and had the intention of opening an online vintage shop to showcase the beautiful pieces she’d amassed over the years. After her clinic partner left the business, she used the unit as a studio to photograph her vintage clothing and organically, the space transformed into a vintage shop.
«People who were curious came down to buy a few pieces,» Ashlene explains. «They just kept on coming and it ended up not being so much online but an actual store.» After moving to a larger space in a renovated Victorian on Markham Street in 2009, Space Vintage moved to its current location on Bloor Street in 2013.
