Spa Excess is Toronto’s largest bathhouse for men with over 18,000 Sq Ft. Opened in 1998, the bath has 250 lockers and 85 rooms spread over 4 floors. Enjoy the fully licensed lounge, whirlpool, hot steam, dry sauna. Also available: massage, tanning, 2 internet kiosks, and wireless and billiards. Sun deck open spring to fall.

History

Established in 1998.

In 1997 Michael Dorman, Robert Knight, and Peter Bochove (the 3 principals) developed the concept for Spa Excess (a bathhouse for men). On Dec 1, 1998 Spa Excess opened to a huge open house. Finally, on Dec 3, 1998, the Bathhouse was officially opened for business. Shortly afterwards, the owners added a 12 man whirlpool and roof top patio. The Spa now covers 4 floors and has about 18,000 sq ft of fun space. The Spa also opened with a fully licensed bar.

The 3 principals all came to Spa Excess with past entrepreneurial experience. Peter had been involved with managing and owning previous bathhouses. Michael and Robert planned and opened Pegasus On Church, a bar on Church St in downtown Toronto. After 20 years of owning the bar, we sold it as a going concern and it is still stronger than ever.
