Simply Frosted Cupcakery

Love the cakes they make! My friends got me the ombré buttercream cake and everyone at the party fell in love. Definitely will get cakes from them again!
4 stars only because the cupcakes that they make are way too sweet! It does taste good, but not the best, maybe if it was less sweet.

I ordered some specialty cookies from them (male celebrities) for a bachelorette party. On their instagram it showed the cookies were black and white or in full colour.
When I picked them up the cookies were BLUE. I asked them why they were blue and they didn’t look like that online. The person cashing me out was very dismissive and just said «that’s the way they are». Considering that these cookies aren’t cheap– i expected a better answer from them.
When I emailed them afterwards to say I wasn’t happy with the way they turned out, they didn’t even respond!
The cookies/​cupcakes are OK. The taste is nothing special and nothing you can’t find at ANY OTHER BAKERY. That being said, they’re decorated nicely.
1 star for awful customer service– I wouldn’t recommend anyone go there and I’ve told everyone I know about the bad customer service.

Not only do the cakes look beautiful, they taste absolutely wonderful! Excellent customer service, they really know how to please their customers. I recommend this establishment 100%. Anytime I’ve ordered a cake from them I’ve received many compliments!

They made the cakes for all of my brother’s wedding events from the wedding itself, the bridal shower, the engagement party and a baby shower in between. The cakes were phenomenal! I don’t eat cake at all yet found myself having a second serving at all of the events. Worth the drive from wherever you are

Really cute place! I ordered some custom cupcakes and they turned out great. It’s nice to be able to get good cupcakes without driving to downtown. Their prices are about the same for other cupcakes shops. The butter cream is a little rich for me but then again I’m not a huge cupcake eater. It’s definitely something I would buy for a bday.

What can I say. Their cupcakes and their yummy. Got half a dozen for $ 16.50
I like red velvet the best but that may be biased since they can make red velvet out of anything and I would like it.
They have a loyalty card program where if you buy 9 half dozen cupcakes then you can have the 10^th half dozen for free. I don’t think this card is very useful in my opinion. By the time anyone ever reaches the 10^th half dozen cupcakes they would have tapped out from diabetes or something if you know what I mean. The only way I see anyone getting to the 10^th dozen is from buying them as gifts.
There are other goodies here like brownies and cookies but their main focus is cupcakes hence their name. For the price, the cupcakes here are pretty good but I still think I would pay a bit more and get the ones from the Old Firehall Confectionery.

Great cupcakes, good frosting! I’ll call it an even 3.5 but rounded up. The cupcakes wer a little ‘crusty’ on the top. Not sure if they were overbaked or a day old. They definitely were a little crunchy. I love crunch on a muffin, not a cupcake.
They looked great however, frosting was yummy. Cake underneath the top was soft! Will definitely try them again. Pretty cute overall
Note: I hope their bakers see this. The cupcake recipes look like the tops are overdone. Even in their latest instagram posts. The tops definitely look crunchy and even have cracks. The baking time should probably be changed. None the less, they have some great talent in that store, creative flavours. Would check it out.

Hands Down THE BEST cupcakes ive ever had in mu whole damn life! my favorite is «nutty over chocolate» but every one ive had has been magnificent. there a tag more expensive but worth every penny! my goal is to eventually try every cupcake flavor, even if it means gaining 20 pounds in the process! if you guys ever open another location PLEASSSE be on warden and lawrence theres no bakeries foe cupcakes n cakes. you would make a killing! keep up the great work! PEOPLE YOU NEED TO TRY THIS PLACE!!!

I had the Dulce De Leche cupcake. Wasnt super sweet. I also had the double chocolate another time and the chocolate icing was a cross between mousse and icing. Sooo good. The flavour reminded me of Fudgee-​Os.
They have a nice shop with a lot of selection. Some of the options I saw today included: banana cream pie, double chocolate, Chocolate cherry pie, toffee caramel crunch, lemon pie, strawberries and cream, and pumpkin cheesecake.
They also had cake pops and chocolate coated marshmallows and sugar cookies. I had the cookies and cream cake pop. That was quite nice. Also not too sweet.
They have a lot of variety. Price is $ 2.75 per cupcake. But the sugar cookies are grotesquely expensive at $ 3.00+ for one. I lost a little respect for the owner when I asked for the price of a single square plastic container instead of the round one with no extra ribbon etc., and she said over $ 5.00. Over $ 5.00 for a square plastic when it actually costs her just under $ 1.00 each to buy them? That price mark is so insulting to the customer. The cupcake itself is not even that much money!!!
Other than some of her unseasonably marked up goods, I’d recommend the chocolate covered marshmallows.

Excellent — I am a bit ashamed to admit that although the shop has been in my community for over 2 years it was only last week that I tried the cupcakes. The young women running the business answered my first question about ingredients, with the right answers and that is that only fresh, real ingredients, i.e. butter, flour, real vanilla etc. are used in the baking.
The cupcakes that I purchased had very light fluffy cake and dreamy, buttery icing.
While people line up at other cup cake shops such as Prairie Girl, I do not get why as their products are not superb, in fact the taste of oil and lesser quality ingredients turned me off.
I love to cook & bake and only use the best of ingredients and so am really happy that the Simply Frosted Cupcakery can help out for parties and functions when I’m too busy to do it myself.

Fairly new cupcake place in Scarborough, and one of the only cupcake places in this area that does custom cakes and cupcake orders.
The cupcakes are yummy, great selection of flavours and reasonably priced for gourmet cupcakes. The store was clean and displays made choosing a cupcake extremely difficult. They also host a variety of cupcake classes and parties for kids throughout the year.
I recently ordered 12 custom cupcakes, 6 were oreo and the other 6 were red velvet. Depending on the design of the cupcake they will ask you to bring in or e-​mail them a picture. They reply to e-​mails quickly and they are very accommodating with pick-​up times.
I love this place and will continue to buy cupcakes and I will love to order a custom cake here next time!

Reese’s ain’t got nothing over Simply Frosted’s «Nutty over chocolate» cupcake. Let me start by saying that I am a chocolate fanatic! This perfectly crafted cupcake is fluffy and creamy all at the same time. Embedded within the heart of this melt in your mouth chocolate cupcake is a chunk of smooth peanut butter that will send your taste buds into overdrive. if the filling doesn’t, the unbelievably luscious peanut butter buttercream frosting will literally be the icing on the cake. it is the perfect balance of salty and sweet.
I also had the pleasure of having my girlfriend’s son’s birthday cake made by Simply Frosted. The Thomas the Train inspired birthday cake exceeded all of my expectations. There was so much detail put into the cake, from the Thomas on top of the cake to the fondant clouds, hills and train tunnel on the outside of the cake.
Simply Frosted is the best Cupcakery I have ever been to. The shop is very cute, the staff very friendly and the prices are very reasonable. I recommend Simply Frosted to anyone who is trying to «Wow» that special loved one.

I first «discovered» this place when my girlfriends got me a baby shower cake from them. It was AMAZING! Not only was the cake absolutely beautiful, it tasted so delicious! Since then, we regularly buy cupcakes from them, and there hasn’t been a flavour we’ve tried that we haven’t loved!

There is nothing bad that I could say about this place except I will probably run into debt from all the cupcakes I eat here. The décor inside is absolutely beautiful and they have cupcake decorating parties for kids. Their cupcakes itself are so moist and every bite just keeps getting better. I love their Oreo and simply white flavors. Their cake pops are also super amazing! This is where it’s at!

These girls make — hands down — my favourite cupcakes in the city.
They have some usual standard flavours, and rotate some new ones in and out as well. I haven’t had one that I didn’t like yet. We’ve tried a lot of different cupcake places around the city, and these ones are the top of my list. I think its something about their buttercream frosting, its fantastic. The flavours are really well done, and they have some great ones. The raspberry one (I think Pretty In Pink?) is filled with jam and the raspberry frosting is amazing. The hazelnut is great, and even the plain vanilla and chocolate ones are delicious. Pistachio was really well done, as was the lemon. Honestly, there have been no losers.
Sure, they aren’t cheap, but what specialty cupcake place is? If I’m going to put my money down on a 6-​pack, this is where I’m going to do it. I have to disagree with the previous comment on quality, as these easily compare to the «downtown» offerings I’ve had. Since I love their frosting, I don’t find it excessive at all. That’s like saying «my pizza has too much pepperoni!» (for non-​vegetarians).
Overall, I really hope that they become a fixture in the neighborhood, since I can walk to their shop, and I’m kind of uninterested in getting my ‘cakes anywhere else since having tried theirs.

Once a small business operated out of the owner’s own kitchen and now a full functioning bakery, I knew I had to reunite my taste buds with the cupcakes I fell in love with two years ago and check out the new store.
The bakery is located in a small plaza just off of Lawrence Avenue in Port Union. The interior décor of the cupcakery is very classy + boutique style, clean, organized, and has a glorious display of their freshly baked cupcakes. In addition, they also offer cupcake parties held in a separate room at the store although targeted mainly for young children (but I’m sure adults are welcome too).
The customer service is excellent — very friendly and efficient. The owners (both sisters and both very passionate and talented) greeted us right away and explained all the flavours they had on the shelf that day.
The cupcakes are much larger than they were from a few years ago but that is not a complaint, simply an observation. The prices of the cupcakes are comparable to other cupcake shops selling at $ 2.85 each. Recommended flavours:
strawberry & cream
vanilla cake with strawberry filling & topped with strawberry buttercream.
The cake is actually light and fluffy and the strawberry filling & buttercream makes it a wonderful summer treat.
oreos and cream
vanilla cake (with crushed oreos mixed into the batter!) and oreo cream cheese buttercream on top
This cupcake is perfect for those that want a heavier dessert with a good balance of chocolate.

Very moist and good for anyone that is craving a change from your typical cupcake flavours. This one is definitely a new favourite of mine.
Overall, I am glad to see the business is flourishing and that their cupcakes are still just as good as I remembered them a few years ago. If you are a lover of cupcakes and like to indulge, this place is definitely worth visiting and trying a cupcake… or 12.
