Place isn’t too bad. Having couches, the place is comfortable to seat for a chat and having a drink. The main floor is quite nice and clean but I can’t say the same for the floor underground. Quite weird and smelly since the washroom are located downstairs and beside the dance floor and I gotta admit, the washrooms are not one of the cleanest I ever experienced. Came here because of the reviews read here on Unilocal.I rated the bar 3 stars only just because they only serve beer in bottle and the variety of the drinks is a bit limited. But prices are definitely good considering that in other bars around the same area are much more expensive. We experienced this bar on a Saturday night. Walked in around 10.30, the bar felt empty. It was weird at first but we realized after awhile that we probably got here too early. The bar started to get busier and busier the closer we got to midnight and it was a great surprise to see that we had live music since 11.00. Overall a good experience and I’m sure I would get back from time to time. Again, the 3 stars are only because the drink choice isn’t very large and because the space below could have been used much better.

We couldn’t get into the Lockart so decided to walk here instead. The 13 of us literally constituted the majority of the people in this tiny dark bar. They have interesting décor — black walls, shimmery party streamers, a mirror stolen from a parking garage, and mismatched vintage couches. I loved it because it was poorly lit, mildly dirty, and they had $ 3 PBRs. But my boyfriend who has more upperclass taste did not appreciate that they didn’t have any scotch or cran juice available. I don’t understand the name. It doesn’t reflect the vibe of this place at all. No one is getting laid here. And there aren’t any lasers. So depending on whether you prefer dives or more mild-mannered venues, you may love or dislike Sex Laser.

Don’t let the name of this place distract you from checking it out. Sex laser is a great place to meet up with friends and have a couple drinks. Went here for a friends going away party. They had $ 3PBR’s and $ 3 mixed drinks until 11. The music is always good and they have a bunch of couches to hang out on. Every time I have gone her there is always people dancing and having a great time. The only issue with this place is that there isn’t sign so it can be hard to find. So check it out.

Original review: 4 stars New review: 3 stars Original review: Sex Laser is probably my new favourite place ever. It feels like you’re at a party in your friend’s basement. An array of couches adorn the front while the bar is at the back, and a dance floor emerges somewhere in between. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because the one bartender served stingy freakin drinks. As a former bartender, I know the equations for a proper pour and she did not follow the rules. I was not impressed. Other than that, this place was exactly what I wanted/needed. The DJ was great(I went on a Friday) but it did get a little poppy for my liking near the end. All in all, I can’t wait to go back to this place. Super friendly and an awesome crowd. ****Have since been to this bar several times and reduced my review from 4 stars to 3. While I loved my first visit(above review remains untouched), subsequent visits proved frustrating. The music has been too eclectic, men have been really aggressive in their approaches, and when I went to order jack daniels, I was told their bottle was just for show. I’d still go again, I don’t hate it, but it’s no longer a new favourite****

Yeah, so cheap drinks, decent music selection(I’ll get back to this), amazing name, cool couches, funky atmosphere but a bit of a young crowd. All in all, we showed up late at night on a Friday for some drinking and dancing. Drank and danced and enjoyed ourselves. That’s for sure. I’d also go back. I’d say it was a bit of a drag because the crowd was really young, but if you’re in your early-mid 20s it was a good mix. That said, it wasn’t so young that it bugged me. The one thing that takes a star off is the dj kept interrupting her music. She’d get bored of what she was spinning, or maybe not super into it and would just change the song. Given that it was really great 60s-70s music, it was driving us all a bit mad with the lurchy music. But that aside, it has a recipe for success, so I’d go back. Also, seriously guys, it’s called Sex Laser.

$ 3PBR, great DJ, free arcade machine, friendly staff, cozy sofas — my new Dundas W hangout favourite!

Really cute little spot, they have really cool décor and some nice large couches if you want to chill. If you move some of the furniture around there’s a small dance floor! Drinks are reasonably priced, just the regular hipster shit that you will find all along the Dundas strip.

We were walking down the street one night and saw a dark storefront with no signage with a chalkboard outside with positive messages written on it. This made us pause long enough to realize there there was a dim glow inside the bar. We’d never seen a bar this dark. It looked like the sort of bar vampires might hang out in. So we went in. There were empty picture frames on the walls, dim red-shaded lamps, candles in red glass holders, velvet couches, a trunk, a dark black table, a piano, and two posters behind the bar, one of Beethoven, the other of the Smashing Pumpkins. I didn’t know what to order, so the gentleman asked the bartender for a drink for me using various terms not usually used to describe beverages(this was not our first bar of the evening), she gave us a look, and said, «I make a mean Bourbon Sour.» And she does! It took googling to figure out what strange place we’d been to the night before, but we’d certainly go back.
