Lucy Brock feels like a new local hangout on Dundas West and Dufferin, but it’s been here for at least 2 years now. It’s absolutely recommended for groups: birthdays, get-togethers, celebrations, maybe even break-up binge drinking too — anything with a group, this place is golden. We came on a Friday evening, maybe around midnight and the place was full, but not elbow-to-elbow packed. The bartender was the only one working(poor him!) but he was very speedy and super friendly. The crowd was maybe late 20’s and mid 30’s and not exactly hipsters, more like the cool-kids crowd. The décor is unusually hip. Some of the lights are made from street lights — that’s one long ladder used to punk these! –There’s also an upright piano near the front, which may suggest a music night. For a quiet drink with your friend, sit at the front of the bar, where the window is facing Dundas. Otherwise mingle with the crowd anywhere. Pro tip: The vibe suggests a perfect bar for mid to large groups.

Great little place. Interesting décor and a good range of classic cocktails as well as some originals. For a small place it’s surprisingly airy in the summer and quite cozy in the winter.

My friends and I have made this a common spot to hangout during weekends as they have good cocktails and it is usually not to crowded. The bartenders are usually open to making any drink you can up with as long as they have the ingredients. Watch out when going here as not all of the bartenders are the same. Some make great drinks others don’t.

Nice little place with some great interior design. Old street lamps and a counter tiled with pennies give Lucy a distinct look. The cocktail list features some things I haven’t seen in many places such as fizzes and the classic Blood & Sand. Prices are decent and and I was happy to see that PBR didn’t feature anywhere on the shelves. Let’s just let that beer die shall we folks? It was never any good and you know you didn’t enjoy it in the first place. Ryan gave my friends and I a little tour of the place where we saw the kitchen and back patio. Once things get rolling in the kitchen and the patio gets sorted out for next summer, I don’t see any reason why this place shouldn’t be jammed on the regular. If you have a chance, go there now while it’s still quiet and cozy so you can brag to people about it when Lucy gets super popular and no one can get in.

I was on vacation in Toronto last week and randomly found this amazing bar, Lucy Brock, on Dundas Street West in the city’s Little Portugal section. My girlfriend and I were looking for some alone time after a day of being tourists with our friends(and doing an extensive amount of walking), and we happened to stumble upon this bar that was located just around the corner from the apartment we were renting. The bartender, Ryan McVittie, made us some of the most excellent drinks I have ever tasted. I had some Tom Collins(es) and my gf had a cucumber-infused drink that was exquisite. He then prepared a cocktail just for us based on what we thought would taste good — and man, it did. I was a little thrown off at first because there was no drink menu, just a listing on the wall that was hard to read in the dark, but in a small intimate setting with a bartender like Ryan who has personality and vast knowledge about drinks, it didn’t matter. I loved the atmosphere. It really felt like a neighborhood hang-out that was casual but still upscale. Someone even brought their dog in. The décor was really cool. I think this article describes the place well: Next time I go to Toronto, I’ll have to make a trip back here.
