I have been running for most of my life and the Running Room is my go-to. I really like that they service the niche market for just running. The products are great and the sales associates are usually very helpful. I’ve been to quite a few different locations but this one is closest to my house so I went there recently for some new shoes. The associate that helped me was very friendly and he was very knowledgeable. The only issue I had was the Assistant Manager seemed to be quite dismissive and rude when I asked for help. She seemed to be more interested in texting then helping me, which is odd for someone who is supposed to be leading. With that being said the male associate on duty helped me find just what i was looking for. I will still shop at the running room but not sure it will be this location again.

When it comes to running, there seem to be three kinds of people: hardcore running evangelists, weekend warriors, and people like me who won’t even run for the bus(it’s the TTC, surely the next one will arrive within a few days). The Running Room strives to meet the needs of all three classes; super advanced shoes, and enough tight-fitting neon t-shirts, tights and shorty-shorts to make the 1987WWF roster blush. More casual runners(and wannabes like myself) have their share of options, too-less expensive shoes that meet post-New Years resolution commitments, and a few toned-down(and less revealing) clothing choices. Ain’t nobody gotta see these thighs. Staff is invariable welcoming and friendly, and pretty knowledgeable for the most part about the products on offer… but they walk the line between evangelists and snobs-not always successfully. Walk into the store and you’re pressured to join one of their running groups. And buy an extra pair of shoes to give their cushioning a rest. And a silly mesh baseball cap with lower profile to minimize wind resistance. And a heart rate monitor. And so on and so forth… so it’s fair to say the sales associates are well-trained in the art of the up-sell. All well and good if you get enough use out of your gear, but if it’s a few months later and you’re still getting blisters on your feet from your $ 250 anti-pronation shoes, and wind up happier with a pair of $ 50 nikes purchased from the sale wall of the outlet store at Vaughan Mills, you may rethink future shopping ventures. Some may run to the Running Room, but I ran… I ran so far away…

I came in looking for new running shoes — mine were all worn out. The place was pretty busy, but a salesgirl spotted me within a minute and offered to help me. She evaluated how I walk and determined which kind of shoes would best support my feet, and pulled a couple different brands for me to try. I also mentioned that I was going to be doing a Colour Run the following week, and that I needed a pair of inexpensive running shorts that I wouldn’t mind getting all dirty — she immediately pointed me to the sales rack and gave me a change room to try things on. Their sales rack was extensive and had lots of options in all sorts of sizes! Left with an inexpensive pair of shorts and a fantastic pair of running shoes, and so far they’ve been worth every penny. They’re corrected my pronation and the achey shins that I was starting to feel from my old shoes have completely stopped. I wish I’d gotten the salesgirl’s name, because she was friendly, helpful, and deserves to be complimented on her work by name. Sure, they’re more pricey than getting running gear at, say, Wal-Mart, but they’re not wildly expensive and they’ve got great quality stuff. I’ll definitely be going back!

I came in knowing exactly what I wanted(a toasty warm base layer in a girly cut but not a girly colour) and found what I was looking for right away. Being a newb to running gear, I wandered the store(clean, bright, organized) a bit to make sure it was the Very Best Thing. There were two folks working who were both, by all appearances, very busy helping someone on the phone. That’s fine. I found what I needed and got out, but I can’t really speak to the customer service in this little review.

I realized that I was in need to get some running garments after deciding I was going to become one of those people who run past you on the sidewalk or jump out of nowhere in front of your car and scare the living day-lights out of you. So, I ran to The Running Room. The Running Room has running clothes, shoes, accessories and more for both men and women. I can’t say much about the men’s section, but the girls section had tons of stretch pants in all different cuts and styles, shorts, jackets, shirts & tanks, socks, water bottles, watches, a nice selection of sport bra’s(padded and non-padded) and so much more. They also had a nice selection of running shoes that looked like they would really support ones feet while running. I was happy with the variety that they had and the quality of the clothes were good and breathable. Their prices are higher compared to other places like Sports Check by $ 5-$ 10. The store was clean, organized and spacious and they carry a ton of great things. While shopping, I did not receive any help, actually I did not know anyone was working there until the last few minutes I was there, someone popped out and said hello. I would have appreciated some help picking out a few items. Overall, this particular Running Room has a great selection of running wear that come is lots of awesome styles and cuts and so much more. However, their merchandise is more pricey compared to other places and the staff is not helpful at all.

Came here to get fitted for new runners ’cause my old ones were stretched out to the max from being old and trampled on by my serious flat feet. The last time I bought runners I was at a DSW in Vegas and tried on 50 pairs(no word of a lie) before finding ones that were comfortable and supportive. Forgive me but I can not remember the name of the owner who after checking out the wear and tear of my previous Reeboks and the shape and archlessness of my feet and observing my running form she patiently helped me pick a pair of Adidas that seriously has improved my form and has significantly reduced the pressure I was beginning to feel in my right knee and hip. She was more than patient and really funny as well. I would take a clinic here but its a little far from my house. My running buddy does the clinics here and she can not say enough good things about the group and the owner. Really great small business ethics and definitely worth supporting!
