This is a funny little shop in Kensington run by the cutest little Romanian lady! She is very personable and interesting to talk to, making this little shop of random wonders a good place to stop for any dried goods you may need in the area. Overall the cheap prices, decent dried goods, and the atmosphere make this a fine place to stop by for bulk snacks.

I love bulk stores. I primarily cook for myself, so getting anything more than a sneeze worth’s of spices is excessive. Here, here for bulk! The lady that works in this shop has a rugged, straight-to-the-point, and salt-of-the-earth demeanour. Though she is a woman of few words, she’s there to get the job done. I like that — not to mention her skill using a gigantic knife under the jar lip to haul the spices down to her level. Watching her reminds me of watching my parents and their no-frills work attitude, and I get nostalgic just thinking about it. Kiss-ass customer service can be kind of draining, anyway. As with the rest of Kensington, it’s super fun passing by in the summer, when she’s sitting outside by the nut bins, just staring off in the distance; it makes me feel like I’m walking down a street in old-town Europe.
