My husband and I stopped in when it was Planet Kensington. We weren’t cool enough to be there but we like it anyway. Havana Cuba Grill & Bar opened two months ago. Julio made us a couple of delicious mojitos. We sat at the bar. Alan and Julio were very friendly and talkative. Mojitos are less than $ 7 each. It’s a small place with a dining area in the back. The tunes were good. Though the menu is small, it looks like it’s authentic Cuban food.

Havana Cuba Grill & Bar is a new place in Kensington located in the old Freshwood Grill space. Wandered in here today to check it out and peruse the menu but didn’t have a proper dining experience so I can’t really comment on that. It is a tiny spot with seating for 10 or so inside and a 2 table patio. The interior also has a nice little bar area. The place is decorated with Cuban flags and old pictures of Havana. They had a good selection of Cuban food on the menu — very basic, simple Cuban farmer fare(Ropa Vieja, blackened chicken with fried plantain, rice & bean type dishes, calamari and even Cuban sandwiches). They also had a lot of rum based cocktails(mmm Havana Club) and the mojitos were only $ 5.50! I will return soon to give the food a proper go.
