I went there just before 8pm on a weekday and was the only customer. A male technician did my nails: gel refill with shellac, $ 40. He was quick, precise, gentle, and he made the nails thin like I prefer them. He didn’t talk much that that doesn’t bother me at all. Someone else mentioned that a male technician just pointed to tell her what to do with her hands while he was working. He did what I guess is the same with me, but I realy didn’t have a problem with it. I think it’s just easier to guide someones hands than to verbally explain how to maneuver. I’m from out of town and the people where I usually go do the same thing. He even gave me a little shoulder massage :)
If I were staying here longer I would go again.

This nail salon is my favourite place to go however there are some things I dislike.
This salon is the only place i’ve found that uses the dipping method rather than placing the acrylic on the nail and shaping it. I find the dipping method much faster and makes the nail look more natural and not as thick.
What I don’t like is the grumpiness of the workers. A few of the ladies there give so much sass when you ask questions etc. I find most of them unfriendly but they do good work.
The only reason why I come here for my acrylics is because they use the dipping method. My nails are always even and natural looking.
$ 35 for a set with polish.

I came here for mani&pedi combo and was disappointed to learn that the prices raised from $ 30 to $ 35 in the last few years. But well, another place just 2 blocks away charge $ 40, so I guess it’s okay.
Together with tax it was $ 40+tip, about $ 45.00. Wow, I guess I’ll do my own mani pedi from now on, or find a bit cheaper place.
Sabita (not sure if I spell it right) did my nails and she did a very good job! My mani (also pedi) lasted more than a week (11 days in total) and no chip at all! I think it depends how well the job is done, what nail polish is used and how careful you are afterwards.
My only complaint is that few nails had missing polish in the corners (that I didn’t even notice for 2 days, so no big deal). I definitely recommend Sabita — such a great person with friendly attitude.

The woman who did my pedicure was very nice, but she left my nails too long. The application was too thick and despite sitting under the dryer for 45 minutes, my toes were badly smudged and the pedicure ruined by the time I got home. Polish chipped by the next day and overall I was very unhappy with the results. I re-​did my own pedicure a couple of days later.
I give them an extra star for my nice pedicurist, but I wouldn’t go back.

Really bad service. I got a gel Manicure and they took about 15 minutes talking to me about me simply not wanting fake nails, just the gel on my natural nails (I have really long nails).
A very angry man did my nails, he was rough and he just ordered me to do things by pointing and directing me with his finger. Oh god… it was horrible. My nails lasted about a week and a half before the first chip. It was 35?
Never going back there again, the majority of people who have done my nails there in the past treated me pretty bad.

I’m not sure what has changed in the past year but this place has gone down hill. To say the least. This was once my go-​to spot for mani’s and as of yesterday I will not be back. Dirty! the station I was told to sit at had hair, nail clippings and a bug (yes a bug) all competing for the space I was suppose to be resting my hands on. The girl doing my nails took the polish that I had chosen for my mani and squashed the bug with it… I didn’t know what to do so I just sort of smiled when she looked to see if I had noticed. Of course I noticed! She blew my nails dry after applying old, yellowed base coat as spit particles bounced off of my cut-​way-​too-​short nails. As I sat under the hand dryers once my mani was finished, the staff packed up and left, as in went home for the night, and I was left in the salon to sit and wonder if It was ok to leave and if my nails were dry. There was no one there! I was literally the only person in the salon. It was a confusing 45 minutes and it’s safe to say this place will no longer be getting my business. Too many other quality salons in the city.

I had gotten paid so I figured I dropped by and get my nails done
Ive never gotten my nails done before so I was excited. Pop in and was greeted by a not so nice young women who wouldn’t let me see what they were offering & that I had to choose what i wanted. Whatever. I got acrylics with shellac.
She sat me to a table and an older man started doing my nails. He was nice, polite and asked me many time if I liked it, I said yes. He even gave me a shoulder massage when it was over.
$ 50.85 + $ 10 tip and my nails looked horrible when I left and saw them up close in outside light. They were uneven, slanted and my ring finger and general looked effed up. It didn’t even look straight.
Went to another place to get the fixed. Stamp card or not, I’m not returning even if it is 5 min from work.

I’m actually very surprised with all the bad reviews here. I had an excellent experience! Everyone was nice and greeted me with a smile. No one spoke about you in their language. They offered to put on a English speaking movie while I got my nails done (Serendipity) the woman listened to everything I wanted and did my nails exactly how I wanted. They used the Dip Powder Method that isn’t used everywhere but it’s fast, neat and convenient. After I washed my hands the woman stood beside me with a towel and dried them for me. After she completed the job she finished with an amazing hand massage. They also gave me one of those stamp cards for a free manicure on the 10^th visit. This place is clean, attractive, enough staff so you won’t be waiting ridiculously long to be tended too. The price is a little more than expected but worth every penny. I will definitely be coming here again.

I had to get pedicures when I was pregnant because I couldn’t reach my toes and this place was so cheap.
That’s because they gave me ATHLETES FOOT!!! I now have a horrible case of it and nail fungus, neither of which I had ever had in my life!
Do not go here!!!

I am a regular customer and never have I had any problems or issues at this salon. Everyone is nice and polite, I’ve never had to wait, and their service and speed is great. Their prices are reasonable and they offer a frequent customer card that gets you a free manicure after 10 visits.
I regularly get shellac, there are many colours to choose from and the process is always the same. They ask me if I want my nails trimmed or not, what shape I want etc. They clean them up, wash, prime, paint and seal. When they are drying they offer a shoulder massage, which I think is the icing on the cake.
Definitely recommend this place! :)

DON’T EVER GO HERE! I NOW HAVE AN EYE INFECTION! I will be contacting a health inspector… Not to mention the bad service. I am disgusted with the atmosphere and the experience as a whole.
I visited the location on Queen ST W and Spadina early this week on Wednesday October the 15^th. It was an immediate decision to get a lash refill (eyelash extensions). My lashes were’t in bad condition, actually I liked them better before i went in the store than when i left. Before the procedure i politely asked questions about the eye lash extension service they provide, What kind of lashes do you use? What do you recommend? How many lashes do you use per eye… Non were answered. I should of known then, but I was vulnerable and tempted to get them done.
The lady escorted me downstairs to a private room. As we start i realize that the lady did not wash her hands… I started to feel really uncomfortable and immediately questioned my decision. The lady really lacked experience, she really didn’t know what she was doing… She didn’t even know how to use the tweezers needed to place the extension on my existing lash… They kept dropping on my face… She quickly gave up using the tweezers to apply the lash and surprisingly, she started applying the lashes WITH HER OWN FINGERS. She was struggling tremendously, dropping the lashes on my face almost every time. At that point I started to really regret my decision.
Not to mention that she was pulling out my own eyelashes with tweezers. This is a NO NO! Every lash technician should know that this pulls out your natural lashes leaving bald spots on your lash line… I now have to use a lash serum so that hopefully my natural lashes can grow back. Remover gel is suppose to be applied before removing eye lash extensions. I even told her to stop because it pulls out my natural lash but she continued.
Then end result was horrible. Hardly any lashes were put on my eyes. I liked them better before i came then when i left. I paid for the service because i just wanted to get out of there as quick as possible.
I will be contacting the company… For my money back.

Went to this nail salon yesterday to get my gel nails removed and get a regular manicure on top of that. $ 10 for gel removal. $ 15 for regular manicure.
I know that removing gel nails can be a tough job. But if you don’t know how to do it properly, then don’t do it! Wow the girl who did my nails did not know how to take off gel nails.
She took her metal tip tool to try to get an open space at the side (although my entire gel nail was still very hard and stuck onto my nail firmly) and she tried to lift it up with so much FORCE that she RIPPED THE TIP OF MY NAIL by like 1 cm. I was in so much shock because it hurt so much. I could not believe that this girl just ripped my nail off. But this girl doesn’t even say sorry or anything. So I told her «hey you just ripped off the tip of my nail!!!» and she simply says «it was already like that». WHAT THE F***??? It was definitely NOT like that before. I definitely felt my nail ripping from one side to the other side and also the pain along with it.
This was the point I should have just left. But I had an important event to go to later that I couldn’t just leave with my nails in such a horrid state that this girl made. So for the rest of my visit at Rainbow, I was basically on my tippy toes, worried that she’ll rip another nail off or something. I thought going to the nail salon is supposed to be relaxing?! Not here.
Okay so what the girl did next to try to get rid of my gel nails is that she just took her electric sanding tool to basically sand down my nails… She sanded down so much to even my own natural nails that my nails are paper thin now and feel so sensitive like they’re going to snap any second.
So yeah. Don’t get your gels removed here. The people here were rude to me and didn’t even apologize for what they did. I would have understood if they explained to me that the girl was inexperienced and if they sincerely apologized. But the fact that they didn’t even care or properly apologize and just wanted me to get out of there after they finished, I am just left furious. They should have compensated me for what they did.

I am such a fan. I’ve visited a few times for a shellac manicure/​pedicure and each time has been a pleasure. They always accommodate walk ins and the service is friendly and quick without being rushed.

I got my nails done before a trip on a Tuesday. 5 days later, I’m staring at 2 broken nails wishing I could leave my vacation to tell them about themselves.
My fav nail place couldn’t book me for bio gel nails. I would’ve had to wait till tomorrow. Because I was leaving the next day, I needed to get it done that day. I walked up the street and saw Rainbow and decided to stop there. When I walked in, they could take me right away and I was happy. I had my nails done by a gentleman who I must have met and angered in another lifetime; because he was well upset doing my nails and telling (and by telling, I mean indicating as he didn’t say a word) me when to dry them. Under the dryer, my fingers hurt but he got mad if I took them out. He didn’t soak my nails, clean my cuticles and after describing the process to a friend, she’s convinced it wasn’t even bio nails. It was finally over and I left… only to get home and notice it was bubbling & looked bad.
Back to today and two nails have broken and I will never go back there again.

So yesterday I was waiting for a friend so decided to pass by this place. I first thought of doing something more complex or even using dark color on my nails, but then changed my mind and went with beige manicure (how could that go wrong)
So the lady started doing it, didn’t care to respond to my attempt to have a small talk, but that’s OK, I was ok not to talk tbh. She started removing cuticulas, actually hurting me in the process. She was kind of annoyed with me too 0. o
Anyways, after that and before putting any nail polish she asked me wherever I’d like to pay now, I got confused but then thought it’s not a bad idea considering me nails would be wet so I may as well do it now. That’s when you also give tip, which I did, $ 5 to the $ 15 procedure. I don’t really care as long as she does her job well.
Alas after she barely put 2 layers and coating she went away to the back.
I’m sitting there and then by accident touch the thumbs, at which point the nail polish obviously smudges. She is cleaning the floors. So I call her, when she looks at me. She totally ignores me, completely, and walks off. I then call the other person to help and she sits down, trying to fix it. Instead of erasing it, just puts an extra layer of polish. Then looks at the job the other one did and tries to fix that… Holy shit. I even had a sharp corner on my thumb! Seriously?!
Anyway, the other one finally comes back in her cost and leaves! And I’m sitting next 40 minutes waiting for the 4 layer coating on that one finger to dry.
Today I showed my «manicure» to the friend of mine. She was surprises such simple task can be batched so badly.

Never have I ever had such a great manicure. It was done promptly, with great care and perfection. Lasted 3 solid weeks for Christmas and New Years. Highly recommend this salon to anyone looking to get Gel nails for a special occasion. You won’t regret it.
