Puppy Machine is a post production audio facility and recording studio for film, television, music and multi-​media.

History

Established in 1998.

The owner of the biz started playing music at 14. After playing live for about 10 years, she one day realized she wanted to play ALL the instruments (kinda like Prince did with the Black album). She had a complete soundscape and symphony playing in her head, but didn’t know quite how to access it.

After being exposed to the sound studio at Ontario College of Art + Design, and getting her hands on some field recording equipment, she found herself on subway platforms recording the noise of the trains and patrons. After hearing the field recordings back at the studio — she was hooked. One year later, she started building Puppy Machine.
