My friend and I were denied any service on a Monday at 10:30 pm. Their sign said they close at 2 am but the lady wouldn’t seat us or serve us. It was clearly a race based discrimination against us. Avoid.

I would best describe this as a small and intimate local bar. It’s cool that staff actually engage with the customers. Had an okay experience the last time I visited. Good vibes. Does this place set itself apart from others like it? Not entirely. I would most likely visit if I was in the area but wouldn’t exactly go out of my way.

It is clean and cheap. I mean crazy cheap for Cool beer but it has a feeling that is slightly off. Perhaps it was when we were there but the crowd was sketchy, I’d almost say unbalanced. This was entertaining unto itself but it was. weird. There was one guy in particular who stared at me the entire time I was there in a way that made me think he wanted to cut me into pieces. The karaōke is gone — what remains is a odd machine that plays old music videos. Random experience. I almost want to go back to see if it was a one off thing.

Not your average bar on bloor. This place is clean and cheap(small pitcher of local beer for 6 bucks) if you speak Spanish, or want to learn Spanish, this place is right for you. Cute and attentive Asian bartender might just be another excuse to visit.

Monica for mayor! Monica for mayor! Just kidding, Monica put her weight behind Olivia. This is the cleanest dive bar in the entire world. It’s bordering on sterile, but I still dig it. Sandwiched between McDonalds and Baltic Avenue you can find this Karaōke-clad lady. I came in here with my usual motley crew for a few laughs, drinks and to intermittently discuss the situation in the Ukraine and then when despair hit we started an impromptu dance party. You know… the uge. Cash only, no food that I know of and drinks run between $ 3.75-$ 6.

Monica’s! Pints of Cool Lager are $ 4.25 tax in. They were playing Depeche Mode loudly out of a karaōke machine when I stopped by. No tabs! Usually fairly empty by the looks of things… But no reason why it shouldn’t be more busy. Great location, modern interiors and very cheap.
