I recently started to go to Memorial for mom & baby classes(music, yoga) as well as preschool swim time with my little one. Overall I’ve really enjoyed coming to Memorial. It’s relatively new, clean and modern. There’s free parking, although during the day, the parking that faces the front entrance tends to be pretty full because it shares a lot with the Catholic school next door. However there is plenty of parking around the sides. The classroom is easily accessible on the first floor just past the information desk, and is nice and big — tons of space. The pool is very nice — it is accessible downstairs, so if you have a stroller you need to take the elevator down one floor. There are male and female change rooms, but also there’s a family co-ed change room which is nice when I’ve come with my husband, we can be tougher getting our son changed etc. The change rooms are clean and pretty easy to use with a baby — plenty of benches to lay them down for a second while you get dressed. What’s really nice is that you can not only bring your stroller into the change room, but you can also bring it onto the pool deck and leave it in a designated area, which is super helpful. The pool itself is pretty warm, and has a ramp which makes it easy to hold your baby while walking in. The only thing I don’t like is the time for pre-school swim time, which is Thursdays at 1:45pm, smack in the middle of nap time. Who plans this stuff? The swim is free to do, and is a great way to get an epic nap from your little one. All in all, I really like Memorial. I just wish they’d fix the wheelchair automated doors to the exterior, they always stick and it makes it tough with a stroller.
