Specialties
As medical, surgical, and dental procedures have evolved over the years, so has the commitment of McGilvray Veterinary Hospital to provide the most up-to-date diagnostics techniques and treatment to pets, and advice to their owners. We practice preventative medicine and strive to develop a personal relationship with each and every patient and owner. We believe this relationship is the cornerstone of high quality veterinary care.
We are a full service veterinary hospital in Toronto offering exceptional medical care for dogs and cats. These services include annual vaccines, spay and neuter, dentistry, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery (including cruciate surgery), emergency care, intensive care, digital radiography (x-ray), dental x-ray, ultrasound, stem-cell therapy, boarding and grooming.
We have 4 veterinarians with over 100 years of combined clinical practice experience and a loving and committed staff.
History
Established in 1948.
McGilvray Veterinary Hospital was built in 1948 by Dr. Roy McGilvray. Although the interior was designed specifically for the hospitalization and care of dogs and cats, the exterior resembles that of a traditional home.
The hospital has been an accredited member of the American Animal Hospital Association since 1950. The AAHA is a self-regulating body that sets very high standards of practice. Compliance requires regular inspections and submission of records, with less than 10% of animal hospitals in Canada meeting these requirements.
