I had such a great experience at JC Salons yesterday, I had to leave a review. First of all, I heard about the salon because I saw a stranger with a great haircut and asked where she had gotten it. Answer: with Noelle at JC Salons. Let me just say, last year I had tried a different salon in the neighbourhood and had not had a great experience — really, really pricey for a cut I didn’t even like. This time, for almost half the price, I got exactly the cut I wanted. I showed Noelle some pictures, we talked it through a bit, and then got down to business. I liked that she picked up right away that I prefer to just relax and not chat, so I was just able to enjoy the entire experience as I like. She was focused, and by the time the cut was done, it was honestly perfect.(Also, I had overhead her boss telling her while my hair was being washed that he was so impressed by the last cut she had just given, and that THAT client was super thrilled.) She did a great job at making me feel like a million bucks — isn’t that we all want when we leave a salon? Staff is super friendly, they offer complimentary drinks when you arrive, and they give you the amazing cut that you want. I’ll definitely be back!

I went there as a recommendation from a friend, as a good salon for a guy with thinning hair. You do need to make a reservation before going. Pros: — friendly staff — complementary coffee — hair wash included — great cuts Cons: — expensive($ 50 for a guys haircut)(–0.5 star for the price) — reservation only — parking can be difficult to find Haircuts(5⁄5 stars): I have thinning hair, and the barber I went to before charged $ 20 but the hairstyle would look really bad after only a few weeks. + The haircuts are quality and take about 40 minutes to complete. + The stylists only use scissors. + the hairstyle looks good for at around 3 months. Service(5⁄5 stars): I went there around 6 times, and got serviced by 3 different people(Due to the original one taking vacation…) I never had a bad experience. Both Noelle and Joanne are amazing. Very friendly staff, they pay attention to detail and follow your wished. They wash your hair(if your hair is really long, they cut a bit first then wash it) before finalizing your haircut. Ambiance(5⁄5 stars): The whole room is very well lit and they have a receptions. As soon as you walk in, someone takes your jacket and provides you with a robe. They offer you coffee before you even sit in your seat. Depending on how busy it is, there might be a few people servicing you; one washing your hair, one cutting it. Parking: There is street parking available on Windermere Avenue but it is usually pretty busy. They got a few parking spots right by the salon, but they are almost always full.(–0.5 star for parking) If you want a quality haircut and do not mind paying the price it is worth a visit.

I highly recommend Darren as a colourist. He has a fantastic eye for colour and really caters to what you are looking for. He gives great advice on what would work for you and what would not. I trust him completely with my hair and am really happy every time I go to see him.

Ashley always cut my hair for over two years and she was the best! She took the time and effort to perfect my haircuts and after a while she would manage to cut my hair just the way I wanted in 15 – 20 minutes. Sadly she went to Europe and when I returned to get my haircut by someone else they screwed it up. Not returning there ever again.

OK, I admit it. I’m a guy and I like a salon. Originally started coming here because it was blocks from home, and got to know a number of the people who work here. I don’t think my hair’s too hard to cut, but then again… I now live elsewhere and still make the trip, because other places keep screwing it up. I’ve always appreciated the wit and passion the owner(and family) bring to their business. A great, friendly culture.

I came to JC because I followed my stylist Rudy here. He gives amazing cuts and really listen to what you want. I’d highly suggest him for a cut. Unfortunately, everyone here specializes in either colour or cuts, so new clients can’t get colour done by Rudy. Which is a shame, because he does an amazing job. That being said, I found the front desk staff a little stand off-ish. After I filled out their contact form, I sat there for a while even tho my stylist clearly wasn’t busy. Then I was led down to this strange basement and given a lab coat type thing to put on after being told to hang up my coat. I found this a little weird, I’m use to the salon staff takin your coat for you. It seemed even more strange because the coat closet and the stairs going down to it seemed like it was the staff area since there was a laundry basket and washing machines there. Anyways, make an appointment for a cut with Rudy. Always does an amazing job!

Sarah from JC cut my hair recently. She’s a junior assistant stylist and she did a fantastic job cutting my hair. The environment was very relaxing and the other staff were friendly too. I felt like they made the effort to provide really great service and I walked out pleased and would happily recommend it to anyone I know :)

I had been in a rut for soooo long and was looking for a hairsalon to help me finally look my best. I had been putting my hair in a ponytail forever. I had never been to JC Salon before and was expecting to deal with stuck up people and expecting to feel uncomfortable… it actually turned out to be a wonderful experience. I have to say that I fell in love with my new hairdresser Margaret… she really gave me a great cut. I was very emotional at first after cutting 10 inches of my hair(but it was donated), but only because I haven’t had my hair cut that short since I was 15 years old. I will say that she really knows how to cut hair and I really love my new look. She made me feel relaxed. I’ve had nothing but amazing compliments and it’s finally given me new confidence. Also I recieved hilites from George… I clicked right away with him and he made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. I love my new hilites and I love his personality, he really knows customer service… thank you George … I will definately be coming back to JC Salon. Sandra

Did not have a great experience. I walked in for a trim and ended up walking out with really short hair. The stylist did not listen to my instructions.

I’m so happy to have found this place however many years ago. I totally don’t go enough, and my stylist gives me sh*t for not coming in to get a bangs trim, but when I do go, I always walk out happy. Margaret, my stylist, has been giving me this perfect cut for a few years now. When it’s short, it works. When it’s too long, it works. I couldn’t find that before, so I’m sticking with it! Also, one of the guys leaned in once, interrupting us to say I had beautiful eyes. You can’t beat extra compliments when they’re already making you look great!
