Hyatt Regency Toronto

Staying here for a couple of days for NYE. Awesome location, very walkable to CN Tower, aquarium, theaters. Hotel staff impeccably polite and helpful. Room with 2 queen beds is not highly functionable for two adults and two teen children. Room style is more European than American: limited drawer space, closet/​bathroom counter/​storage space, dim lighting and no secondary mirror or dressing area other than the bathroom. My teens disliked the frosted glass window separating the room and bathroom citing lack of privacy. That said we liked the hotel very much and would recommend it to other travelers.

We stumbled upon the Hyatt last minute. The ambience, service, and amenities were awesome. The rooms were spacious, well put together, and had very comfortable beds and linen. I would highly recommend this hotel. This one has all the gym equipment a fitness buff would want.

Not a bad hotel and close to financial district. Last time I stayed there, I found it a bit noisy and heard people running in the hallway, doors slamming and music/​TV in adjacent rooms. Sleep quality was not stellar. Maybe I will ask for a higher floor room next time.

Really good service. Been to different hotels with my girlfriend in toronto for our anniversary before but i have to say this is by far the best one yet. They upgraded our room as well when they found out its me and my girlfriend’s anniversary. They made our anniversary special this year!

I love this hotel. It’s my go to every time I’m in Toronto (every two months). Staff is always friendly. My bed is wonderful and too comfortable to get out of most mornings.
There’s a nice little gift shop with reasonable prices to grab drinks, food, etc.
I’ve ordered room service once. I ordered the Angus burger. Very pretty display and tasted really good. Hotel is very close to tourist things (4 – 5 blocks) although I’ve never done the tourist stuff.
This will always be my go to. I don’t understand the low reviews. Great location and great people.

Very nice and conveniently located hotel. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Room service was prompt and the food was good. The bed was very comfortable. I slept well, no noise could be heard from the hallway or adjacent rooms. All in all, I’d stay here again. The location is reason enough, it’s in the middle of everything!

This is a nice hotel. A Bit tired. I see water damaged side tables, Plastic Coated doors on room. Otherwise, Nice TVs, Bed is comfortable. A Desk for your laptop or work area. Nice shower.
Check In was great with Friendly staff, and was quick and efficient. Located right in the heart of things on King St. you have no problem doing some shopping.
Starbucks right in the Lobby makes for getting a good coffee in the morning is no issue.

I know I’ve rated this hotel before but I am continually surprised at how awesome their customer service is, so here I go again. First of all, I arrived in Toronto and opened my email and there was a check in notice from the Hyatt. With one button I checked in and one more tap on my iPhone and I told them I’d be there early. I arrived to happy smiling faces and Allan was there to greet me, he had my keys all ready… oh, and would I like a room on the top floor? It had adjoining capability so I said I wasn’t too thrilled and he said NO PROB! How’s the 12^th floor facing the CN Tower? Beautiful clean room, gorgeous view. Then, I went to work. Came back tired and went over to the bar and who was there but the beautiful, happy, bubbly Maria. She remembered what wine I ordered last time I was there — ahhhh, 2 months ago! My husband doesn’t even remember and we’ve been married 10 years! Maria speaks Spanish and helped me with a few of my words… she is incredible. Abdullah and James are wonderful servers… Why stay anywhere else? EVERYTHING is within walking distance — shopping, dining (20 feet away), comedy club, sports clubs, pubs, you name it, you don’t need to rent a car. In the summer there is a spectacular outdoor pool. There is a great buffet breakfast… I

I stayed here on my recent visit to Toronto. I was upgraded to an amazing room with a view of the CN Tower, so was very pleased and it brought back memories of a family trip years ago when we ascended the CN Tower and enjoyed the spectacular views of the city. The hotel has recently undergone a renovation and they did a great job with the common areas. The rooms are comfortable too and this will definitely be my «go to» hotel when visiting Toronto.

I was really expecting better from this hotel based on the photos and the «four star» title all over their website. The décor in the lobby is gorgeous, and lobby attendants are very friendly, especially towards tourists. But when we opened the door to our room, we were surprised at how small (and tight) it was. The bathroom is even tighter, which I didn’t know could be possible. Housekeeping does not supply enough clean towels and cloths after removing those already in the room… which lead to me and my friend to constantly ask for more. The headboard situation with the beds was also strange, leading to the pillows constantly slipping.
We had an issue with the heat not working at all, and after having to call the front desk twice the technician finally came. He informed us that the heat was never on, even though it was displayed that it was. The heat was finally working after he took out his tools and got busy, and shortly after our room turned into a sauna no matter how low we had it. Eventually, we turned it all off completely. Have to be careful what you wish for with this hotel, I guess.
The place is pretty convenient to bars and restaurants, as well as stores to shop in. The proximity was probably the greatest thing this hotel had to offer.

We were exiled from the Park Hyatt for our first night of reservations due to them overbooking, and were went to the Hyatt Regency. The hotel is an older building that was recently renovated and has a clean, modern feel to it (resembling Aloft by Starwood).
Check-​in and check-​out were both fast and efficient (it seems like this hotel is designed with the business traveler in mind). We checked in late at night and were happy to find a row of restaurants, patios, and bars right across the street on King — definitely not an issue to locate some late-​night grub here.
We got upgraded to the Director’s Room on the top 18^th floor which had separate rooms for the bed/​bath and the living room/​work area. There was a nice patio but we were not allowed to use it due to local laws. The view is just OK, there are too many new constructions around and blocks much of the view of anything more interesting downtown.
Overall our experience was simple and comfortable, not a lot of amenities to enjoy here, but I can see this being a great fit for the business traveler.

Stayed here on a Friday and Saturday to see the Dame Edna show. The hotel is in a great location– a couple blocks to the theatre, and also near Smoke’s Poutinnerie. The lobby is classy and modern. Good security, not allowing anyone without keys to the elevators at night. The room was spacious and clean, very classy looking. Overall, a very nice hotel.
The negatives:
There is NO drawer space. None. I am not exaggerating. There were 4 TINY drawers that could barely hold underwear and socks. They had to put extra hanging shelves in the closet as I’m sure there have been complaints. There was plenty of room in the room for an actual dresser– They REALLY need to put in a dresser.
The bed was comfy, but had this weird curved headboard with a gap between the mattress and the headboard, so your pillow kept falling into the crack. Very annoying.
Also– the restaurant is extremely overpriced. Breakfast for 2 was over $ 65 dollars, and was only OK.
I would definitely stay here again, but PUT SOME DRESSERS IN THE ROOMS!

Great experience at this hotel.
Good location right on King St, and a short walk to to most food or bars.
Modern looking hotel with a nice lobby and very nice staff.
The rooms here are pretty large, comfortable and modern as well.
Good TV and work area in the room.
Bathrooms were clean
No complaints at all.

I have mixed feeling about this location considering I’ve been there at least 3 or 4 times. I think it’s getting a little dated and the service in the restaurant and the bar isn’t great. Rooms are nice and it’s convenient for its location but that’s about it.

I have to say I enjoy the Hyatt for its locationand the energy in the front lobby. It’s a pretty young crowd and I almost always run into travelling artists and teams here, so it’s nice to be around if you want to take advantage of what Toronto has to offer it’s 30-​somethings.
But as far as the rooms go, they lack a certain warmth. Our room didn’t have a fridge or bar, which is fine, but it didn’t make up for that in space. The Hyatt strives to be modern but miss the mark. The bathrooms need an upgrade (soaker tubs or rainforest shower head please) given how much the stay costs.
The front desk staff and room service crew are always kind and accommodating which earns a star in this review.
As for their eating-​in menu, it is totally uninspiring as you would imagine. There are some wonderful dining options nearby (despite condo mania taking over) so the Regency may want to offer more interesting dishes to keep guests happy. On that note
I RECOMMEND– staying away from the eggs Benny.
EXTRA TIP– internet is $ 14.95 daily for basic, $ 34.95 daily for premium. Foutaise.

Where do I begin? I must say that this hotel did not meet my expectations. I expected a high standard from Hyatt Regency because this particular location was listed as a 4 star establishment.
Upon arrival at 6:30 pm, we immediately went up to our room. When I walked in I was surprised at how small the room was. When I went into the bathroom to put my toiletries away, I stepped in a puddle of water. I investigated further and noticed that it was leaking from the base of the toilet. GROSS! When I called down to the front desk they said they would have some one come take a look and if they were unable to fix the issue they would move us to another room. My boyfriend and I went to have dinner and came back to a caulked toilet. It was a «quick fix» and unpleasant looking. I was also grossed out by the black mold on the walls of the shower where it met the tub. To top that off, the handle for the pocket door was not properly secured and it was very hard to close the door to the bathroom.
The hotel staff agreed to give us a roll away bed for our friend at no extra cost because of the incident we had with the toilet. I thought that was reasonable. There were a total of 3 of us staying in the room and it was quite cramped. Also, the cleaning staff would only leave 2 towels and 2 wash cloths each day.
My friend decided that he wanted to order internet in the room ($ 15 per 24 hours), I was not on board with this because the internet in the lobby was free. Alas, he charged it to the room. The WIFI ran at a snail’s pace. None of us were able to watch a video on YouTube or browse any social media sites. Mind you, the lobby internet was speedy. I’m not sure if being on the 10^th floor had something to do with it or not.
On our last night we decided to enjoy a few drinks at the hotel bar. The bartender was very professional and knowledgeable. A bottle of beer was pretty pricey but, it was what I expected.
The one thing that I did love was the location. I chose this hotel because it was only a few blocks away from the convention center. We were going to the Fan Expo. I was pleasantly surprised to find that so many restaurants and bars were right across the street.
While we were packing up to go home, my friend noticed that there was black mold on the ceiling on the top of the window. I have included pictures of the condition of my room. I don’t know that I would ever stay here again.

Ok, here goes! Three stars because this hotel is in the top top top top-​notch area in downtown toronto. It is in a super convenient in that it is central to all. At nites, it was sooo happening. Also, the service is good and the lobby is fantastic. The parking is also pretty convenient, as well.
HOWEVER, I DO NOT GET WHYYYYYYY the hotel rooms have no fridge??? It is a standard amenity… or shouldn’t it be? Am I living in 2010s and fridges are no longer a part of the rooms? No clue. But the point is, it turned out highly inconvenient because of the lack of this addition. Further, the rooms are pretty small, like NYC small. or better yet, Japan type of small. But the size of a room is manageable, though.

Shout out to the manager Jay Hong for upgrading me even if I was a Priceline customer paying less than half the price. Very good service at check in despite computers being down.
Rooms are what is expected in the financial district. Small and chic. They could do more with the upkeep of the rooms tho. Lots of chipping and staining scattered throughout the place. Also, the sheets were pilling so no matter how comfortable the bed was I still couldn’t sleep with how scratchy the sheets were.
Rooftop pool was small and shallow. Gym and steam room were very nice tho.
Definitely not a destination hotel but a good place to call it a night after exploring Toronto.

While traveling to Toronto for an overnight business trip, I selected this Hyatt Regency based on its proximity to my business activities. I have found that, in general, Hyatt offers nice properties.
After I arrived at the hotel from the Toronto Pearson International Airport, I entered the lobby and saw a modern, contemporary atmosphere. That is not my preferred style as I always can’t imagine how anyone is comfortable sitting in those modern art style chairs etc… They are incompatible with the human anatomy. So, this place would impress someone with contemporary tastes, which I can appreciate, and not criticize it for a simple difference in taste. Besides, I didn’t plan to spend much time in the lobby.
The front desk, a minimalistic non traditional structure, was staffed by very professional and pleasant employees. I had traveled together with the owner of the company I work for and we checked in together. My boss received her room keys and was checked in. I then presented my information and was happily told that I was selected as «guest of the day». This meant, I was told, that I received a complimentary upgrade from a standard room to a two room executive suite. Who was I to argue? I happily accepted this upgrade.
I took the elevator to the 15^th floor and proceeded to my suite. The hallways were dark and punctuated with scuffs and wear marks on the wall and doors. I thought this would be a foreboding as to the condition of the room. After I entered the room (OK, suite), I was happily pleased to note that the hallways did not reflect the state of of the suite.
The suite offered two rooms: a living room with a wet bar, wide screen television, sofa, chairs and a large window. The separate bedroom offered a queen size bed with a wide screen TV. The bathroom was clean, well designed and very convenient.
Overall, the room was very comfortable although, the atmosphere lacked a comforting or luxury sensation that would be aligned with the expensive price per night.
The complimentary upgrade to a suite which I received was quite nice but, not for the reasons you might expect. A regular room is equally equipped minus the living room area, however, the real perk was the astounding view of downtown Toronto and the CN Tower. Otherwise, if I traveled at my own expense, I would try to reserve a standard room via a service like Priceline.
I ordered room service because I did not have the time to leave the hotel for dinner due to my need to complete documents and a presentation for my meeting the next day. Ordering was easy, although I would note the prices were quite expensive. The food was delivered in a timely fashion and the service was attentive. The food itself was, in some instances, prepared well in advance and simply re-​heated before serving. The food was overall disappointing and, I would have preferred the chance to walk a few blocks and find a restaurant serving better quality, fresher food at a reasonable price.
I met with 3 of my colleagues early the next morning and had breakfast in the hotel restaurant. Again, expensive, however, I received great service and a deliciously, freshly prepared breakfast of very flavorful coffee and oatmeal with fruit and walnuts. It was outstanding.
Overall, I recommend this Hyatt with the knowledge of some of its shortcomings, expensive food, some interior decoration choices but, a great location that can’t be beat. Also, I stayed during the cold of winter and could not enjoy a roof top pool etc…
I would return but look for a better price per night through special offers or other web sites.

Welcome to the New Year 2014! What better way to ring in the new year by scoring a sweet deal for a hotel room in the city on
. OK, maybe sweet deal was a strong overstatement, even on a deal I still got skewered, but such is the case everywhere on NYE.
I have a strong affinity for this hotel as I used to work for an ad agency located on the buildings office floors, so I spent many days in their lobby, using their facilities, and paying countless visits to their conveniently located Starbucks accessible from the lobby.
The décor of the lobby, the rooms and hallways are über modern and stylish, a perfect fit for its Entertainment district location. Echoing the sentiments of my good Unilocal pal Evelyn W, the staff here are incredibly friendly (not phony) and professional. Plenty of Sir and Madam name calling (call me Madam and we might have some issues).
My main gripe about this place is price from top to bottom this place is a money suck. On a deal my room still went for about $ 245 after tax for a King Bedroom, no clue what it would be at full price but JEEZ-​US! Add to that they lock up another $ 250 on my credit card to cover for damages AND (I’m going to spell this out for effect) THIRTY-​TWO DOLLARS PER NIGHT FOR PARKING — seriously? For that price my car should have been washed and detailed but alas it was not…
Will I be back? Maybe… but not at these prices. I know it’s a prestigious location and elegant hotel but come on! This is a special occasion hotel for sure.
