I’ve been on the lookout for a vintage racer motorcycle jacket for awhile now and am I ever glad I popped into this hip Queen West spot. The owner was there and he was cool and pleasant. The shop is big with lots of room and mirrors so there’s no claustrophobic feeling that you get in many of the other jam packed vintage shops. Lisa was amazingly vibrant and helpful and after trying on every Jacket on the rack I whittled it down to two. I bought both. Very pleased. Great selection of quality vintage goods. Awesome experience and I’ll be going back.

This shop is a beautiful open concept space and unlike other vintage stores, it feels more like an artfully merchandised contemporary boutique than a last refuge for yesterdays threads and thankfully HOV’s careful treatment of it’s goods means it’s not guilty of having that mouldy odor like some other vintageries do. The owner Dennis is a true arbiteur of good taste and has a keen eye for choosing exceptional pieces that hark back to a swinging past yet at the same time are very relevant and wearable today. House of Vintage’s drool worthy collection could easily boast a retrospective for any of the great designers like Ossie Clark, Halston or Bob Mackie. One part western, some rock’n’roll and a bit of bling, House of Vintage really has something for everyone. On my stop here I spotted a signature razor sharp shoulder padded blazer from Thierry Mugler, and a killer pair of 80’s teal suede thigh boots that were too, too big for me. Oh yes, I died a little having to walk away from those boots(ToT) If you’re a vintage-ista or fancy getting yourself something uniquely cool to wear, House of Vintage is where it’s at. What’s more if you join HOV’s clientele list you may even be privy for invites to some of their amazing shopping parties. Yes, drinking and shopping together, ’tis a good thing!

House of Vintage is a top quality vintage and consignment store located on Queen Street West. Prices are slightly higher than market value; however, the price reflects the condition of the merchandise. The store is large, bright and well laid out. There are nice hard wood floors, exposed wood beams and ductwork. They have an excellent selection of authentic consignment designer hand bags. I picked up a 1980s Gucci number and I am very pleased with it. The store staff was friendly, engaging and very helpful. I really enjoyed my shopping experience at this boutique.
