Gorilla Cheese

This is one of the three food trucks I’ve actually been impressed with in Canada. Of course, the only cheese I like on a grilled cheese is mozzarella and American, so I’m limited on what I will get. Because of this, unless the Sarduci is on the menu for that day I’m out of luck, which happens more than I would like it to. My friend has tried other sandwiches and he has never been disappointed. Recommended for sure.

Had a negative experience with these guys today at a festival. Wanted to try them out as I was interested in hiring them to cater my daughters sweet sixteen party of 250 guests however we have decided on another food truck with better manners. Today I went to order a classic grilled cheese and asked the cashier if it would be possible to add a couple tomatoes and I would pay extra and all of a sudden the guy at the grilled turned around, blatantly rolled his eyes at me and said rudely «don’t you like anything that’s listed on the menu?» Oh you mean the 4 item menu with ridiculous ingredients like apples and maple syrup I thought. Barf. I was quite taken aback so I just got the classic sandwich but I should of turned around and walked away because presumably the owner tried to humiliate me in front of a ton of people. He acted as though I asked him to bake me a fresh load of bread and churn the cheese to make the sandwich when I simply inquired if he could add a tomato slice. He could have just simply said «oh I’m sorry they are already pre-​made with specific ingredients» but no, he had to act like an a** for no reason. Will not be going back here due to that rudeness. Also, the grilled cheese is just mediocre for a $ 10 cheese only sandwich, I make better at home.

I can’t get over the Lumberjack. Simply the best grilled cheese I’ve ever had. Cheddar, bacon, sliced granny smith apples, maple syrup. how can you lose?

I only recognized these guys because they were on Dragon’s Den and decided to give it a go. Definitely better than any grilled cheese I’ve had; there’s something different about that cheese. They’re quite enthusiastic and friendly, so the customer service was great. Try it at least once,

We ordered the Lumberjack, the Sarducci and the O.G. The Lumberjack had cheese, maple syrup bacon and sliced granny smith apple. These 3 things should always be together. The tang of the apple and the sweetness of the bacon with the gooey cheese made this a winner. The Sarducci had red onion, balsamic, cheese, tomato and basil. My mom was surprised at how sweet it was. The sweetness of the onion was buffered by that delicious cheese on multigrain bread. Mmmmmm. The O.G. is the classic grilled cheese. No fuss, just straight up. Enough to satisfy adults and the fussiest of 3 year olds.
It was great to meet them and finally get the try their food!
I look forward to trying more!

Oh man, this was a fantastic grilled cheese sandwich! I was on my way elsewhere for lunch and lo and behold I see this food truck parked just steps from my office. Gourmet grilled cheese? I’m sold already!
After a bit of waffling between the Gorilla Sarducci (Mozzarella, Tomatoes, Red Onions, Fresh Basil, Balsamic Glaze on Multigrain) and the Zesty Mordant (Cheddar, Jalapenos, Zesty Doritos on White) I went with the latter… I mean Doritos and Jalapeño on a grilled cheese? Where else are you going to find that?!
Anyways, the sandwich was excellent. You think it would be difficult to screw up grilled cheese but brother, I’ve seen it too many times. The Gorillas had it toasted just right, the bread was fresh, the cheese of high quality and of course I loved the combination of toppings. Plus it was two bucks off regular price… some sort of promotion with the Toronto Star. Extra special props for proudly using Jensen Cheese which uses only microbial enzymes instead of animal rennet making it very vegetarian friendly for herbivores such as myself.
If I see the Gorilla Cheese truck parked some place else, I’ll definitely have to try the Gorilla Sarducci. Try ‘em out… if you can find them. Who knows where they’ll be next?

Tried the Gorilla Sarducci. It was delish. Yeah, I still think that it’s a tad pricey, but man, they make a mean grilled cheese. Try ‘em if they’re ever in your neck of the woods!

I had a grilled cheese from these guys awhile back. I didn’t think it was that great. This time around, though, it was much better!
I had the lumberjack which had green apple slices, maple syrup, and bacon, all in the grilled cheese sandwich. What a yummy combination!
Friendly service.
They even have cool stickers for the kids (and the kids at heart).
