Only good for alcohol which I didn’t want last night. 20 dollar nachos for a tray of hardened nachos with only cheese stuck to tray paper with 5 bites of chicken right in the center and sparse lettuce Not served with salsa or sour cream or guacamole. Then we ordered chicken wings which were rubbery bc undercooked. Then we ordered mains and food came before the cutlery did. Lol. What a joke.

This will possibly be the fanciest Fox & The Fiddle you will ever walk into. Just opened this year, in the summer it features luxurious outdoor couches and heating lamps. You can also slip inside to get nice seating next to a gas fireplace and bookshelves. Keeping with the theme, the bill comes in a cute book. And with the fancier pub and location, come the typical prices and Toronto fare. While drinks are more reasonable with booze(beer/wine) ranging from 6 – 8 $ and the meals will eat your wallet more with dishes costing around 14 – 24 $. The service depends on the waiter, but they are pretty attentive and usually fairly friendly. So how was the food? Bleck… Each visit I’ve been left feeling regret. Most dishes have a theme of being immensely deep fried and drowning in sauce(my poor perogies!) The desserts are huge portions and could probably satisfy 3 people thoroughly. This may be a fancier looking pub but the food remains the same as any cheap one. Salads and appetizers are alright enough. I’d recommend this as a great place as a snack and drink spot before a game, but otherwise maybe skip dinner.

Very disappointed with this location. I’ve been to many other locations and this one had by far the worst food. The chicken on the salad was ice cold, the cheese on the nachos were cold and we found a few hairs in it too. Won’t be coming back here ever. EVER.

Great patio terrible food! The chicken on Caesar was cold the sliders had weird tangy taste. Honestly, my daughter said«I am hungry» after we walked of the place. Don’t waist your time or money!

Saw this location being built and were shocked to see it was going to be a Fox & Fiddle. We had a great waiter and we saw the manager or owner often walking around which is always a good sign when at a restaurant. Food was very good, the service was great, the price was good… It rained while we were there out on the patio, quickly and professionally umbrellas where put up and people were ushered inside to keep dry until the rain stopped. Very good location for good food.

Food is terrible. The turkey sandwich is literally worse than a sandwich I can get from Loblaws. Patio is nice and décor inside is nice enough. If you go for drinks, you’re fine. If you order any food you will be sorely disappointed.

My fondest memory of the Fox & Fiddle franchise is a going away party my colleagues had for me at the Bloor Street W location(the one across from U of T below the Holiday Inn). The dim and slightly depressing ambience was what came to mind when I saw the Fox was re-opening at John and Adelaide. I was like: «Really? Couldn’t they do better at the base of a new condo?» Fast forward to several weeks later, when my dad was visiting me for the weekend and we wanted to grab a quick no frills pint. Since I live around the corner, the new Fox & Fiddle came to mind. This new location is bright, with nice furniture and a more«up-scale» feel. It was a very welcoming change from what I expected from this franchise, and I told our server this as he quickly hooked us up with some drinks. He mentioned that they were trying very hard to create a better experience at this location with things like in-house baked bread and an actual chef(not just a cook defrosting mozza sticks) on site. I had a peek at the menu, and while it does have a lot of the pub favorites, it’s not the same greasy, cheesy food that the other locations have. Dinner was still a few hours away and I was a bit hungry, so I did order a pound of wings. Our server suggested getting them dry with the buffalo sauce on the side which was very good. I’ve eaten a lot of wings in the city, and I really enjoyed these. These wings were giant and meaty and after three of them I was satisfied. I would definitely go back for an after work pint and some wings!

Came here on Canada day for a late lunch with a group of 12 people since we wanted to try a new patio spot. I knew going in that with the combination of the restaurant just opening plus our large party that the meal may take a little longer but it was ridiculous. Took over two hours by the time I paid my bill. Unfortunately the food wasn’t much better. My boyfriend and I ordered the pico de gallo nachos and the buffalo chicken poutine to share. The nachos were dry with little cheese and toppings scattered throughout. A few other couples at our table also ordered them and felt the same way. The poutine doesn’t come with gravy and that isn’t specified on the menu, so again I found the dish quite dry. There were only a few pieces of Buffalo chicken so it wasn’t saucy enough and after two bites I had to really dig to find any cheese at all. Overall it’s overpriced and overhyped. Hope that they can find their groove eventually but I won’t be back.

If I could rate it a zero like the tip we left, I would. Came here last night and sat on the patio. I had one server ask for our drink order but she wasn’t sure my martini could be made so she went to go find out. Well that was the last we saw of her. I guess our waiter came and informed me that my drink was being made. Ok but what exactly is that since no one came back to me. Drink was ok so I left well enough alone. Next came our burgers. Correction our bread with pickles because we couldn’t see much meat in between. The fries were completely under cooked and not consumable. My husband mentioned it to the waiter. The waiter cleared our dishes and brought this disgusting cake covered in toffee icing which we never asked for. It would have been a nice gesture to comp something but don’t you think you should ask first, just like the original drink. Now I wish I had sent back the drink. Too late, terrible experience all the way around, won’t be back and for the first time ever we left no tip. Can’t blame a waiter for bad food but you can over the worst service.

Disappointing. It’s close to home but the food and presentation is not good. I sat outside so I can not comment on the ambiance indoors. I do not like that they give you a book with your bill inside it made no sense to me… Will not be going back

The food tastes great, but the portions are pretty small for the price. Nice atmosphere. Good service.

I ate here with my mother in law on a Saturday night. The place is gorgeous, so many interesting details. We sat near the window in a very comfy sofa. We both enjoyed a lovely crisp house pinot gris. We ordered the onion rings/poutine and it was really good. I enjoyed the rings with our without the onion gravy on them.(so nice to have a vegetarian gravy) I ordered the beet salad and it was fantastic. The heirloom beets were perfect. I love the variety of the menu. I will definitely be back.

That Fox is back but it seems they have matured! I stumbled upon it Friday night and only have great things to say. We sat on the beautiful patio and were told there is more to come in terms of furniture; people watching commenced. Ordered drinks and apps and everything was delicious! Highly recommend the Cheddar Cauliflower and the Beet Salad. Started to rain so we shuffled inside and spent the rest of our night there. Has a great vibe and beautiful décor. The staff was attentive but not overbearing. I’ll be back soon Fox on John!

Can I review a place based on one drink alone? Sure! Why the heck not?! This location is quite new. There are several throughout the city. The patio is quite large. There are a mix of high tables, low tables, and outdoor sofas. We were there just to enjoy the nice weather and to have a drink. Service was very friendly, attentive, and efficient. I would definitely go back to enjoy the outdoor space and to try some of the food as well.

This place just reopened, now in a brand new building. Went there today to check it out and was quite happy. Italian house wine was 5 dollars a glass, the food was really nice too and arrived very quickly. I particularly liked the tomato and basil soup. Staff was really pleasant and attentive. Venue looks good, lots of comfortable seats, there’s a great«library» area at the back that looks really nice. I’ll definitely go back, especially if they keep up the 5 dollar wine. The patio isn’t open yet, but they say it will be a matter of days, and looks like it will be a great outside area.

…aaaand she’s back! Fox and The Fiddle, that is. A new build, but same location and address. You wouldn’t know it was a Fox and Fiddle by the décor, with nice big armchairs, a fireplace, clean single stall washrooms, and friendly manicured servers. The food menu still reads like a pub, though, despite their insistence they’re a «Gastropub» now… food was pretty pedestrian. I like the calamari, salt n pepper wings, and I’ve heard they have good burgers but didn’t have one. I wasn’t a huge fan of the onion ring poutine, their take on devilled eggs… and I wanted a banana split but they ran out ;) The drinks were really good, and when I asked for a shot and told the server to just bring me something, he must have heard me saddened by the lack of banana splits, because he brought me a banana liqueur shot! Great service. I’d go back after they’ve found their feet even more, and once that big patio is ready for me!

Walked into the F&F one cold evening with Bryan G and his partner Geoff F. Upon entering, I was immediately taken by a) their incredible warmth(the pub’s not Bryan and Geoff) and b) the aroma of something we could not define. Was it like the inside of a head shop or a gentlemen’s club? Organic, kind of floral, but kind of spicy too. It wasn’t offensive but we actually sat upstairs to soften the blow of this mystery smell, and where — it was promised — it would be even warmer. Right they were. It was hot as a crotch up there. We ordered up some pints and at the server’s reco grabbed a pound of pineapple and curry wings. I was dubious about the Guinness, but no one ever pours it right. As for the wings, not only did they come out in less than five minutes, they were saucy, enormous, and delicious. Good call, pub dude. Two wings in I realized, THIS is what the pub smells like. Pineapple and curry pack an olfactory punch. Obligatory Title Pun: Dum, dum, diddle, to be your FIDDLE. Menu Readability: Exactly the same as every other pub in the city. Need to mention: They have a rooftop patio. What this place teaches me about myself: That’s another ABBAOTP Susan C!

Cheap beer and good wings. What’s not to like? $ 10 domestic pitchers all day on Mondays and half-price wings. $ 10 domestic pitchers until 5:00 every day. And, Wednesdays, I think, they have a beer and burger special for like $ 8. Though I’m not Unilocal’s resident wing expert, I’d stand behind the Fox’s salt-and-pepper wings against any other dry rub wings in the city. The staff are a little stand-off’ish at first, but warm up with regular visits. If that’s all you’re looking for, consider this a 3.5 to 4 star review, but if you’re looking for something bigger and better, then move along.

I thought this bar was super cool, and definitely one of the best I encountered in Toronto. We spent most of our time on the second level, so if the first is anything different I can’t really speak to it, although I did notice they had a nice large outdoor patio down there(signaled by the rising stacks of cigarette smoke) when I was on my way in. The bar is very spacious, with another outdoor patio on the second level that looked like it could hold quite a large party. We were here on Monday night for the football game and they had a huge screen draped down the biggest wall showing the game, a nice surprise to see our sports displayed so prominently outside of the States. The bar service was always pretty quick, even with it being extremely crowded. There seemed to be some really great deals going on for the Monday night game, although I didn’t take advantage of any of them as I had already eaten and didn’t want to drink piss beer. Apparently the pitchers of Molson or some other Canadian stuff was only about $ 10, while a regular pint(I was drinking Black & Tans) ran $ 6 or $ 7. I believe someone also said they sold wings by the pound, and they were apparently really cheap as well. I didn’t eat any but the ones I saw leftover were huge, much better than what’s offered across the street at Hooters.

The Fox and Fiddle is in an awkward location downtown. It’s a two-storey pub complex with two main bars on each floor, multiple TVs showing sports(as you’d imagine) and a full run of taps larger than most pubs in Toronto. What makes it awkward is that it’s found at the base of John Street just past all of the hip and chic restaurants and nightclubs and stands out a bit because of it. I guess the saving grace is that it finds itself across the street from Hooters( ) if that can act as a bit of a transition. It looks and feels like a British Pub and has a decent downstairs patio somewhat but not quite entirely guarded from the bustle of John Street. The upstairs patio is a patio but more often than not, used as a smoking area. The pub runs a series of specials every night of the week with the pinnacle being the Sunday night that offers not only live comedy at 10:00pm every Sunday night(for the insomniacs, students, and unemployable among us) but also $ 10 pitchers of domestic draft and half-price wings. The wings are battered and if you enjoy the spicier side of life, you’ll find the suicide sauce is not just hot but actually tasty. I’m glad to see the kitchen opted for flavour over fire. If you want to start your work week in a deficit situation, you could think of worse options.
