Extreme Clean Today ECT Auto Detailing

This place is a total SCAM. I would have rated it a zero if I could. I bought the Groupon deal. I tried to call to book an appointment but only got voicemail telling me to book by email. The site was difficult to navigate but I managed to make an appointment online. When I got to my appointment the guy asked me for my voucher and took it and went to the back. He then came back out with my voucher and then started telling me that my car was excessively dirty and want to uncharge. He told me I had a lot of salt residue, pet hair (I don’t have a pet), and a whole bunch of B.S. and then told me the upgrade would cost an additional $ 190.00. I told him no. My car was not dirty, did not have a lot of salt residues and absolutely no pet hair. I said I want to cancel and get my money back. He told me I have to deal with Groupon. I called Groupon right away and they told me that ECT had cashed out my voucher indicating that they did their job (That’s why he took my voucher before his scam upgrade quote). I argued with Groupon that they did not do the job and they are nothing but a scam. Groupon said unfortunately they could not give me a refund but would give me a credit for future purchase, which I accepted. ECT Auto Detailing is a SCAM people.

Got a groupon and was NEVER able to get an appointment.
Their reservation system is ONLY on their website. My voucher number was never recognized by their website.
I called them but they NEVER answer the phone and tell you to send an email. I wrote the email and they told me to use the website to book the appointment but my voucher does not work.
I lost my money. It looks like this is a scam

I bought a Groupon for $ 69, which covered their «Extreme Package» — full interior and exterior cleaning + shampoo of seats and floors + exterior waxing. I booked an appointment online with no problems. This place is not about that telephone life, which is annoying when you want confirmation or have questions that you need answered immediately.
The guy took a look at my (already relatively clean) car and spoke about upgrading me to the $ 99 package to include stain removal treatment. There were maybe two food stains on the backseat that would easily come out with just shampoo. He said «It’s up to you.» I didn’t say yes, but I guess my mistake was not adamantly saying no.
When I came to pick up my car 2.5 hours later, it was spotless, but I had a $ 50 bill (on top of the $ 69 Groupon)! The $ 50 was for taxes, an environmental fee, and a $ 30 UPGRADE THAT WAS NOT APPROVED BY ME. I didn’t appreciate that at all. They don’t print receipts with a breakdown of all the charges/​taxes, so I later realized the guy also overcharged me by $ 5.
It definitely wasn’t a deal… I ended up spending $ 120 total, which is a standard price for auto detailing packages. They do a good job and they’re friendly… But that’s the secret. They’ll swindle you with a smile! Beware.

I bought a Groupon for this place and was not impressed. They basically won’t clean your car unless you buy add-​ons. We bought two Groupons, one for my husband and one for me.
For my husband — he insisted there was too much pet hair and that would take extra time and thus he had to pay extra. Note: we don’t even have a pet. He may have had his friend’s dog in his car a couple of times a year back but I can’t believe that would create SO much fur (it’s not like when we sit in the car, we’d come out with pet hair, I had never even noticed any before). This was ~$ 30 so my husband paid it. They did a mediocre job but for $ 100, fine, I can say that’s justified.
For me — I went at a later date and maybe he got greedier because he wanted ~$ 100 in add-​ons because there were some salt crumbles in my car that needed to be vacuumed (apparently that would take extra time) and because my car was «heavily soiled». I wish I had taken pictures to post here because it definitely was not. I generally get comments on well maintained my car is.
I didn’t really have high expectations to begin with because I understand that it is unlikely that $ 70 will get my car looking like new, I just didn’t want to go through the trouble of vacuuming/​handwashing myself in crappy weather. I tried to reason with him explaining that — and saying that I’d understand if it wasn’t spic and span but that I did not want to pay for the add-​ons but he refused and wished me «good luck» returning my Groupon. So not only will they try to rip you off, they’re rude too.
Anyway, I reasoned with Groupon and got my money back but I’d suggest not even bothering buying the Groupon since you’ll have to pay more anyway (defeating the purpose).
There are people on here saying you shouldn’t complain because you can’t get your car detailed for that cheap anywhere else but I beg to differ — I’ve gotten detailing on other Groupons and have had an amazing experience. It’s just this vendor that’s the problem.

I got my detailing service, Extreme package through Groupon. I read all the work that comes along with my package and thought to myself what a great deal. I do detailing on my car during the summers and understand the work and patience involved in the washing, drying, clay barring, waxing, tire cleaning, interior vacuuming, dashboard cleaning and etc… it takes a good 3 – 4 hours of your time. I went for my appointment today and was greeted right away by Vince. Nice fellow and good customer service. There were cars lined up to be detailed but after 20 minutes my car was next in line. I was prepared to wait 3 – 4 hours because I understand the work that is involved in detailing. Once my car was finished, the job was done perfectly. My leather seats never looked shinier and newer, the carpets looked new and salt stains were gone. One complaint was that my windows on the inside could’ve been cleaned better. I’m reading the reviews here and I have to say that I am very happy with the service that I received and the job that was done to my car. I have booked another appointment for my fiancé’s car that I am sure will get the same service and results as mine.

I went to have my car detailed for the second time and I really don’t know what the problem is with everyone else. Everyone knows that to get your car detailed you are going to pay upwards of $ 100.00 if you want a good job. I got in for an appointment right away, it was close to my work and very convenient for me. I will continue to go every year, even twice a year. Lisa or Vince were extremely nice to me… I find if you are nice to people in general they are nice to you back. It may seem shady, and unprofessional to some but for me going to those expensive places are more of a con to me. Give Extreme Clean a break guys… you try and start a business and lets see if you are still in that business after a year. Good for them and good for me… my car is beautiful inside and out and I very happy to have found them. thanks elaine

I got a groupon for a $ 39 deal for a «deluxe package». My car is not that dirty, it wasn’t all muddy and gross. But I was told that my car was considered «extremely soiled»
In order to use my deal here is what he told me:
1) if you want u car seats clean (which was not included in the deluxe package) you need to upgrade the deal $ 30
2) to remove salt off the floor of my car $ 40 and he said will give me ½ off. He there is no point of cleaning the floor unless you first clean off the salt.
3) There is a $ 12 environmental tax + tax
4) I was told to leave me car here for 4 hours for their job to be done
5) The guy wanted EVERY SINGLE THING gone from the car. Nothing in the compartment. He said everything on the car is considered «soil»

This place is a scam. The guy refused to take my groupon (which was prepaid) because I wouldn’t purchase his upgrades. He wanted an additional $ 120 to clean my car even though my voucher was prepaid. He condescendingly called me «Hon» throughout our exchange. He told me he would not clean my car and that I should contact Groupon for my money back. I wonder how many people schlep out to this place only to be ripped off. I left feeling frustrated, angry, and like someone tried to take advantage of me. I should also mention that the customer who was leaving as I was arriving was irate because her ipod charger was coincidentally missing. Perhaps it was for the best that they wouldn’t clean my car, I still have my CD’s, GPS, and designer sunglasses safe and sound. Caviat Emptor! Buyer Beware!

Similar to other reviewers, I used this place through a Groupon-​type deal. It was a hassle booking an appointment time (back and forth emails with long delays in replying, last minute rescheduling, etc). When you get there, they hustle you for various upgrades (not a huge deal, but just be aware), and the place does look fairly sketchy/​unprofessional. My car wasn’t terribly dirty to begin with… I was reasonably satisfied with the work done (not great, but not terrible). My biggest problem was that there was 10 extra km on the odometer, and a HORRIBLE average MPG on the trip computer when I got the car back (ie. they took it for a 10 km joy ride and beat the hell out of the car). No response when I politely called them out on this.

This auto detailing centre has been open for a few months. We discovered this place through a deal on Groupon. Since it was so new, we could not find any reviews for this place so I decided to write one up for those weary of businesses without any reviews and for those curious about this place. Interestingly enough, Extreme Clean Today also cleans homes but this review is for their auto detailing division.
We got the $ 69 deluxe package which usually retails for $ 289 and includes everything they offer. Took about 3 hours. Finished on time as they said it would be.
Let me break down my review:
Customer Service — 4 stars — friendly, personable, and explains the processes to you if you ask them.
Value — 4 stars — for $ 69, it was such a deal. If I had got my car detailed at the dealership where I got my car, it would have easily ran over $ 1000 including labour costs. Groupons are awesome.
Satisfaction — 2.5 stars — I have high standards for a lot of things and I wasn’t quite impressed with the state of cleanliness of my car. Sure it was way cleaner than when I brought it in, but there were spots in my car where there was solidified dirt, and there was an area with gum that they tried to take off but couldn’t. (They said they tried but didn’t want to ruin the carpet by scrubbing it more…) I know for a fact that if I had taken it into my dealership for a cleaning it would have met my 5 star standards but like I said, it is pricey and this was an amazing value. They did a good vacuum job and general cleaning job.
Convenience — 3 stars — I live in Markham so this was a trek out to Etobicoke which isn’t really convenient for me. But having said that, this location is right by hwy 427 so easily accessible if you have a car, and while waiting, there is a huge IKEA within 10 minutes walk so you can head over there to kill the 2 – 4 hours time while waiting.
And while this auto detailing centre isn’t the most convenient location for me, I’m glad I discovered this place and will consider coming back here the next time I rack up a mountain of dust bunnies in my car. Why? Just because, great customer service is important to me. And this guy delivers. I hope his business does well :)
