Always fair prices here, and great selection, more so I’d say than the other fish shops in Kensington. Most recently, I got a dozen oysters for $ 9.99. Not sure if that was a special or not, and I was skeptical of the low price, but the oysters turned out to be great!

Every now and then I pop in to buy seafood and never have I bough something that wasn’t good. I’ve bought fresh fish to make ceviche, calamari and even octopus tentacles here. The people who work here are incredibly helpful except for that one time I went in bought something and asked for ice. I was running errands and I didn’t want it to be sitting in the car for an hour or two without ice. The gentleman who served me seemed annoyed and said I didn’t need it but he did offer to do it anyway. Meh, anyways. Product-​wise and for the most part, this place is pretty great.

I really like this place. If you stack quality up against price with other places in Kensington, Coral Sea comes out on top. I’ve bought super fresh monkfish here as well as some great shark that I used for ceviche. All the fishmongers here are helpful and friendly, which may not seem like a big deal, but to me, it is. The selection definitely varies from day to day, but when I’m in the market, I always pop in to see what’s available.
This is my first stop in Kensington Market for fresh fish at a good price.

I confess I don’t know the difference b/​w the 3 fishmongers on Baldwin st., but I like going here b/​c the guys treat me w/​such respect & helpfulness! I smell like newbie fish fry & they are helpful w/​recipe suggestions.
They will clean the fish for you too.
Everyone who has served me is pretty awesome.
It appears the selection is limited, but then again, I’ve been too shy to inquire on their halibut!
