A very tiny branch at corner of College and Shaw, small collection, limited seating, i dont think i even saw a suitable place to plug in a laptop, so this wasnt on site… There isnt much to say about this branch.

Even though I live within walking distance I never went inside the College Shaw Library until 2 months ago. I could kick myself. Great customer service. Fast responses to holds no matter what level you’re researching. Friendly staff. Yes… *FRIENDLY*. Take That Beaches Library. Take that Palmerston Library. Quiet(but not in that ‘library prison” kind of way). Natural Light and Sunny. Free WiFi. Free Smiles. Free Window Seat to Little Italy. Can’t be beat. College Shaw Library — — I LUV U

Air Conditioning at FULLBLAST! College Shaw Library is the«coolest» library I been to in Toronto! 30C hot, sunny and humid outside, I took a break from the heat… and I was shivering and in need of a light jacket after chilling here for 15 minutes! Lucky for me to find a working area with electric outlets and a good view of College Street. Free WIFI with outlets, Great View and full blast AC… I am happy!

This is the first library in the city that’s made me feel at home. In terms of their actual catalogue, you could do better at other larger branches. However, when it comes to layout, neighbourhood, people watching opportunities, and my ability to spend hours and hours here? Tops. Plus, of all the libraries I’ve been to so far, this definitely has the nicest staff with what appears to be… what, intra-office camaraderie? Smiles from library personnel? Gasp! Incredible!
