Carlton & Church Medical & Walk-In Clinic

I’ve been twice, I just went today I wouldn’t go again. Don’t get me started on the rude, expressionless receptionist who didn’t answer me when I asked her a question. (the Asian one) How could anyone hire someone this ignorant? Astoundingly rude, I’d fire her on the spot.
There’s lots of other walk in clinics around College and Yonge, and College and Bay and there’s a good one up at Wellesley and Church, upstairs, just a few blocks away.
The first time I went, the doctor was some young guy with a beard, and he was obnoxious and rude. He told me to go to emergency for temporary high blood pressure. When I checked with another clinic they told me that he was wrong. All he did was make me extremely worried, he showed no compassion or tact at all, it was shocking really.
I went in again today, to get a referral for physio, because the physio is right next door. The young male doctor I saw seemed pissed off and annoyed. He didn’t want to give me the referral saying it would be «unethical» because he didn’t think it would work, even though the physio told me to get the referral! He was dismissive and rude. He gave some advice on something that I already knew was incorrect to treat my condition. I least I got the referral note, and that’s what I needed.
They need to restaff this place!
I was lucky both times in that I was the only person in the waiting room, but it did fill up as I was waiting my turn.
It’s a shame because the Loblaws store itself is fantastic and their pharmacy staff are very good, one of them gave me some great advice. In a high profile store like this, they need the very best. I was expecting the best.

My bf is new to this clinic so he had to fill a form and then another patient came and he was new too. And guess what?
My bf’s turn was after that other new patient because his form was on top my my bf’s. My bf let him go first and the staff (she’s new, how do I know? An hour of wait time) was whispering and frowning to another staff so my bf told her that his form came second because that guy came later so the form was on top. And guess what? She argued «no he came first, he filled the form first and I remembered him seating first» like how dare you? Even if she was right (not) that attitude is highly unacceptable. My bf was not being confrontational and he didn’t even demand to see the doc first. If there is a cctv I would demand her to check it!
Stupid clinic I will never recommend anyone coming here.

I have never been to such a poorly staffed walk-​in. The clinic itself is really nice and clean, but whoever did the hiring dropped the ball hard.
First off, it’s super hit or miss with the receptionists. They can be very unpleasant at times, though in fairness to them they probably have to deal with people that are fed up with waiting all day.
But then again, why wouldn’t people be fed up? If I come in at 2pm on a weekday, and there is only one other person waiting, my estimated wait time should not be 45 minutes. Additionally, that huge estimated wait time should not be doubled, when neither myself nor the other person waiting have been seen. What could the doctor possibly be doing back that, is someone giving birth? If this was a one time incident I could over look it, but honestly I shouldn’t have to consistently schedule 3 hours out of my day to see a doctor for 2 minutes.
Which brings me to my last point, the doctors are so rushed they don’t give you the time of day. Like I’m sorry if you’re trying to catch up on Game of Thrones in your back office, but maybe if you had got on the hype train when everyone else did you wouldn’t be overwhelmed with 5 seasons of unexpected beheadings.
Moral of the story, I will not be going back so hopefully that reduces the wait for the rest of you.

I’m surprised at all of the negative reviews here. I have had great experience when I have gone to this clinic. It’s clean, convenient, open far better hours than many clinics and have great doctors. The staff I met were busy understandably but never rude.
I think it’s normal to wait at a walk in clinic, it is after all without an appointment. This clinic is a far better option than going to the emergency room and waiting 4 hours. I was so surprised it was open on the weekend when lots of other clinics were closed.
The doctor I saw was great! She was clearly busy but very efficient, kind, and explained my condition very well. She gave me great advise and I was feeling so much better very quickly with her treatment. I’m so happy this clinic is around and really surprised at what people expect from a walk in clinic from these other reviews.

I’ve been here twice now. The first visit was horrendous and deserves a 1 while this morning’s visit deserved a full 5 stars… My advice is to go early. I went right at 9 this morning and was promptly seen by a great physician. When I went a few hours before they closed (my first visit), staff was extremely rude and uncaring. They told me they didn’t have time to see me, despite me telling them it was an emergency and I couldn’t even move and needed urgent care. I had to beg the physician to see me. She only agreed because I told her I wasn’t going to leave, I was in that much pain that I honestly couldn’t get up. She acted like she did me a huge favour… But this is your duty as a physician. I’m a medical student myself, and it’s our job to care for people who need urgent care, even if it makes you 5 minutes late to go home.

I agree with the majority of the bad reviews. I just went last night, came 1 hour before closing and they said they would not take in anymore patients.
One receptionist seemed nice but the other was rude. If you you are planning to go there before an hour to closing, don’t even bother.

The Asian receptionist very very very rude. She talks to people with bad attitude. However, Dr. Chan is the best, she knows how to threat patients.

I came here once with great success, so when I needed to visit a nearby walk-​in clinic after 5pm I figured I’d come here and be out by their 7pm closing. Here’s some helpful knowledge I gained that I feel I need to share with everyone: just because their closing time is 7pm and you show up at 5:15pm do not expect them to take you.
There were six people in the waiting room, so I was expecting a wait, but I was not expecting to be turned away! I have heard of places having a cut off time of 30 minutes prior to closing, but an hour and 45 minutes seems like an excessive cut off time.
Once I accepted that I wouldn’t be seen at that clinic, I explained to the receptionist that I was in a lot of pain and needed to go to a nearby clinic. Rather than assist and give me an alternate option, she just looked at me with her «I don’t care anymore» face and told me she had no suggestions for me.
To summarize: call ahead to make sure they’re actually seeing people despite how long it is before the clinic is stated to close, and do not expect to interact with friendly staff members.

Understaffed, perhaps?
I have a suggestion for a medical office:
–Your office should always have enough staff such that if your waiting room is full, you can see everyone within an hour. –

The last time I came here, I was offered a wait time of around an hour… after an hour had passed, I walked up to the counter to ask how long it might be. The only way the woman can tell is by counting our stacks of health cards. She indicates that there are still 15 people ahead of me, so maybe another hour and a half???
OK, this clinic does not feel like the Loblaw’s below. Awful front desk staff, who are unfriendly and just ignore you as you stand at the desk. Terrible wait times. The one time I successfully got in here, the physician barely even had time to sit down before rushing out.

I see a lot of negative reviews, so maybe I just got lucky? But I had nothing to complain about. I rushed over before they closed on a Friday evening. There weren’t very many people in front of me, and the doctor was helpful. I waited a bit, but not that long.

As I am sitting here waiting to see a doctor, I would like to say a few things about this medical clinic.
I come here out of convenience.
That is about the only reason.
You can call to see what hours they are open, but they have never ever picked up the phone once.
I’m convinced that the phones are props for when they want to ignore you.
Located in Loblaws, you can grab groceries after or peruse food things while you wait and wait to be seen.
Here is a summary of the process.
1. Upon arrival, notice all the sad and coughing people miserably waiting to see a doctor.
2. Go to the counter and stand there.
3. Continue standing without being acknowledged.
4. Clear your throat. Cough. Stare. If you are lucky, one out of three people at the counter will look at you and then look away.
5. Eventually, you will be asked for your health card. Sit down in a gross vinyl chair.
6. Wait.
7. Check in on Unilocal.
8. Repeat step#6.
9. Eventually, you will be invited to wait in the doctor office area.
10. Wait. At least it’s a different room.
11. A nurse will arrive. And afterwards you will see the doctor.
12. The doctor will suggest that you see a specialist or a family doctor.
13. A few frustrating hours later, you’re done! Reward yourself with something from the Loblaws bakery.

This is the worst clinic I have ever been to ! I need to find out how to report them for malpractice. I am just about 3 months pregnanct, I don’t have a family doctor and I went to this clinic to get my first referrals for blood work and ultra sound. My ultra sound came back and indicated I was having a complication with my pregnancy, the clinic called me at work and told me i had to come in right away that it was urgent. I get there and i waited 2.5 hours to see a doctor! The doctor said he would be sending me right away to Mt. Sinai to see a specialist in high risk pregnancies and told me to wait for their call. A week and a half went by and still no call from the clinic or hospital. I called the clinic furious and they said «Oh ya we faxed the hospital and they are not accepting new patients» Are you joking me? And how the f*^&% am I supposed to know that? Apparently this is serious and this is how I am being treated? So here I am 3 months pregnant and still have not yet been referred to an obstetrician by this clinic, unreal! have never gone in there and waited less than 2 hours and the front desk staff are the most RUDE staff I have ever encountered in my entire life. Do not go here!!! stay far away! I was referred to the clinic at 80 Bond street, I called them, they were SUPER nice and made an appointment to see me right away.

I dont have a family doctor yet so i have to go to walk in clinica to do anything but This place is a frikken joke. I’m the only person in the waiting room and I’m still waiting 40 mins… The receptionist said there’s other people in the rooms … Like wtf so hurry the fuck up. This happens everytime but I don’t know where else to go… Also I have has to give my number to them 3 times and I have has blood work and tests done here … They say if they don’t contact you your fine, but considering I just had to give them my number AGAIN now I’m worried… This clinic sucks don’t come here. Can someone suggest a better clinic for me pleas!!!
