Established in 2009.

Located in the heart of the city, Byfield Dance Experience (BDX) is an inspiring Toronto dance studio space created in 2009 by Dora Award winner and Gemini Award nominee Shawn Byfield. A National authority in dance choreography, an expert dance instructor, and veteran of the entertainment biz, Byfield created BDX to enhance culture in Toronto. BDX offers regular tap dance and hip hop dance classes for adults and a clean, vibrant rental space to all aspects of the arts community.

As a sought-​after dance choreographer, performer, presenter, coach and entrepreneur, Shawn Byfield’s unique perspective is enjoyed by thousands who train and mentor with him yearly.

Whether talking about dance, choreography, motivation or marketing, Shawn’s message is fun and energetic: two things that are lacking in today’s world.

He won a DORA Award as co-​creator/​choreographer of «i Think i Can,» is a GEMINI Award nominee and nominated for 2014 Black Canadian Awards. A leading force in Canadian entertainment, he is a veteran TV & film performer, renowned dance instructor & creator of Toronto’s #1 dance studio for adults Byfield Dance Experience. He’s also a certified public speaker offering actionable tips, motivation and inspiring messages to dance and entertainment professionals.

Shawn coaches thousands of students nationwide, and provides absolutely the most positive, motivating and fun learning environment to encourage our next generation of performers and leaders.
