A solid 4 stars, would give 4.5 if I could. This place is a neighbourhood staple — food is great(spicy crispy chicken sandwich is extremely addictive), gelato is delicious(huge fan of the pistachio) and the staff is very friendly. Can’t think of a bad thing to say about Arte, it’s just missing the wow factor that a 5 star joint must have.

A cute little spot for great gelato! I went at the end of the night when the choices of flavours was pretty limited but what I got was yummy!

I will make a pittstop at Ossington station just to get gelato here. It’s homemade and out of this world! I love gelato, and get it all over the city, but this is just the best. I have this 3 to 4 times a week. I haven’t had anything else here, so I can only comment on the gelato. The hazelnut is to die for!

Pretty good gelato. I am not sure what 5-star gelato would look/taste like, but this place hits the spot. The patio outside is nice in the summer. I dislike chocolatey/caramely flavors and only eat fruit or plain vanilla/cream flavors and this guys had pistachio flavor to die for! However the blueberry flavor was a bit bland. Had it better in other places. Lemon and basil flavor is interesting, but other places have done basil better. Still, solid 4-stars. Their big screen with sports is a little annoying, and so are the sports fans when the game is on, but otherwise good ambiance, nothing special.

My favourite place. Best margarita pizza in the city, I highly encourage everyone to order it. Additionally, the gelatos are delicious. If you are there, order the pistachio gelato.

Nice place, good coffee, «some» food, but comparing to other available options in the area, nothing special. Positive is the big screen with Jays games beeing streamed and alcohol available, however, last time I had a beer, it was 2 months expired bottle of Steamwhistle. Definitely did not tast like a steamwhistle. Overall nice place with a decent mixture of coffee&food&beer vibe.

Love this spot. Service is good, the staff is friendly and personable. The food is good, whether it’s the gelato, the sandwiches, the pizza or the espresso/coffee. I like to chill on the patio when it’s sunny and warm.

Visited Artegelato on a Sunday afternoon with my sister. The girl at the counter was super nice, very helpful, and let us try the flavours we wanted. We were both very pleased with the flavours we chose and would definitely return!

Came here for gelato and was not disappointed! I got the frutti di bosco, lemon & basil and tiramisu. My friend got the banana walnut, cheesecake and dark chocolate. The stand out flavors for me were definitely the tiramisu and banana walnut, as well as the lemon & basil for unique flavor(tart and refreshing with a hint of sweetness). They were all delicious in terms of quality, although the frutti di bosco was pretty forgettable next to my other picks and I will probably opt for a more interesting flavor next time. Friendly service and nice atmosphere, a fave!

The coffee is made to perfection, made with skill and out of this world. This is another good place for good coffee. I tried the chicken sandwich and is was very good also. I recommend this place to anyone.

Shock, horror! I didn’t actually try any gelato while I was here. It was a cold day, and I was more tempted by their lasagne, salad/fries and pop deal for 9.99. A great deal it was! While the lasagne wasn’t quite cheesy enough for my liking, it was certainly tasty, with a plentiful portion of fresh meat and nicely-layered sheets. The Caesar side salad was really good, with crispy, fresh lettuce and the dressing came in just the right amount. I topped it off with a fabulous double espresso with an especially gorgeous crema. All this was served quickly and in a very pleasant manner. What more could you want from lunch? I used to live right beside this joint and wish I had indulged in their lunches more often. While most visitors to Artegelato will go solely for their gelato, it’s important not to overlook this place as a great lunch/brunch spot.

Amazing gelato. Not only that but their margarita pizza is the best I’ve had in the city.

This is probably an unusual review but… The people who work here are amazing. I had a medical emergency which required an ambulance to be called. The staff and patrons took care of my little boy, while i was being looked after. I’m sure the gelato was delicious, my son ate the whole cup. But what impressed me the most was their concern and consideration for the well being of a complete stranger. I can’t thank them enough and wish their business the greatest success! Nicole

Absolutely love the gelato here. My favourite place to get pistachio and hazelnut(tastes like nutella) gelato. They also have cheap but good thin crust pizza. The service is great. During the fall/winter months, only one case will have gelato, but the spring/summer months have both cases which is great for variety but will make choosing very difficult. If you can’t decide on a flavour, they are more than happy to give you a sample.

This is an update on my previous review. Over the months they have gotten sloppy — perhaps success was getting to the their head. Food is inconsistent — you never know if it will turn out good or bad. Wait times are terrible, and service is not what it should be. Disappointing, considering my review just last October in 2012 was 5⁄5.

I’m loving this place. I’ve just been in twice in a four-day span and have a strong feeling they’ll be seeing a lot of me in the future. No one else on Unilocal has reviewed Arte’s pizza, which you can see them making in the back, and I can confirm the veggie slices are very tasty and came fresh from the oven. Both times my slices had sliced mushrooms, roasted red pepper and onion toppings with a dash of oregano. The tomato sauce had a fresh, simple flavour(like a passata) and the crust had the right amount of crispness, with a thin-to-medium thickness. I will also mention that their pizzas are a bargain compared to Pizza Pizza down the street, by the slice or by the pie. I get a ridiculous pizza craving after doing yoga at Tula West(a few doors down) and used to hit Pizza Pizza for my fix but I’ll be going to Arte from now on. As everyone else pointed out, their gelato is also delicious. I’m having fun experimenting with three new flavours each time I go in. The dark chocolate is a standout and the peach flavour was really creamy and delicious. The young woman and young man who’ve served me so far were friendly and efficient. My only suggestion for improvement is that the outdoor seating area could use some sprucing up with plants.

While I was eating my quarter chicken at Sardinha across the street… I saw Arte Gelato… and I know where I would be going next! Though it was getting a little chilly, but I know I want gelato before winter really come! The girl that served me was super friendly and I found out she was the one that made all these delicious tasting gelato! I was offered some tasting and then I got a small($ 3.50) which is a size of a medium at any other places! My small cup was jammed with 3 flavours. they tasted so rich, smooth and creamy and I hope they were not too fattening? Gelato supposed to have a lower butterfat content lower than ice cream. When I asked for a glass of water, I was served with sparkling water with no extra charge… I love gelato! I love Arte Gelato!

I’ve been watching like a hawk all summer for this place to open. They really dragged their feet renovating and only launched on the final weekend in August. Of course, I was away that weekend so my long awaited FTR got scooped by a 3 liner. No big deal though. Legitimate score for Raghida. When I returned from cottage country and caught the glow of Arte Gelato’s open sign I knew it was time to try. Truthfully, I’m all Baker Botted out and was up for something new. Arte Gelato’s owner was friendly and advised us of their dairy-free sorbet items. He mentioned that all the gelato is made on site and more flavours would be coming soon. I wasn’t blown away by the watermelon flavour, which tasted very sweet and a bit artificial. What really did it for be was the pistacchio. When you get gelato, you should always get a nut flavour is something I’ve learned with time. Usually I go for nocciola(hazelnut) but I was feeling adventurous and I liked the soft green colour. The best part about Arte has got to be that they don’t limit you on the number of flavours you can get. Just choose a size and pick away. Once you choose your flavours, they make it up for you. Make sure you say the one you want the most of first, because you’ll get the biggest portion of this one, filling the bottom of the cup. Then, in a break from Toronto gelato place tradition of modelling their business practice after a late-night gas station, making you pre-pay before you even decide what you want, at Arte you get to pay AFTER you’ve got your cone. Amazing! Bye bye Dolce! Don’t think I’ll be wasting the energy to walk down to College for your over-priced, mediocre gelato that requires pre-payment.
