This is an excellent store for organic products. Their products are fresh and they have unique products that is hard to find elsewhere. Great customer service and their Spanish is on point. Definitely a great altenative source for a healthy shopping.

Great selection and variety! Tons of vegan and organic, non-gmo products. The place looks clean and their produce looks fresh. I’ve never been disappointed and sometimes I just go to browse through their stuff. Useful tidbit of information: the owners speak Spanish quite fluently and carry a good selection of Latin American products. For my Peruvian expats, and tourists that have been to Peru, they carry: Aji Panca, Aji mirasol, Aji Amarillo, and Rocoto for all your Peruvian culinary needs. Great addition to the community.

If everyone used this market for their groceries, Toronto would be healthy and slim.(I buy my food the day I cook it, so I go there almost daily and have NEVER seen an overweight person there). It’s all fruits, vegetables, and good dairy. They have some direct connections with farmers, so the food is always meticulously fresh. If you need something — ask the family, they’ve added several products at my request. Also, do try to resist the best Montréal bagels in the city, delivered fresh every day. Organic Milk in glass bottles may seem expensive at first, but that’s from the deposit on the bottle, which you don’t pay when you bring your empty back.

Always great quality produce. The owners are friendly and helpful. And they have Inca The Golden Kola!

This store really punches above its weight in terms of variety and quality. The new shop is also really clean and orderly. Two things worth noting: 1. Montréal style bagels delivered fresh at least a couple times a week. This is our go-to source for bagels. 2. The family’s latin and asian heritage is subtly reflected on the shelves. Great burrito shells and and tortillas.

I heart Bloorcourt Village Market! I recently moved into the neighbourhood and decided to visit each of the 4 or 5 small grocers along Bloor between Dufferin and Ossington. I did this a few Sundays in a row and each time I wound up buying one or two items from other grocers and the rest of my list from Bloorcourt Village Market. What set them apart is their emphasis on freshness, cleanliness, organic products and variety. Other grocers didn’t have the friendly staff or the extensive selection. The prices are fairly competitive as well. I’m also vegan so its nice to see the bounty of vegetarian/vegan options. Their non-produce offering is great as well. For such a small place they cover a lot of bases, much more than I would have expected. Overall, I’d highlighly recommend this market to anyone who wants friendly service and quality produce.

When other small grocers let you down Bloorcourt Village Market has your back. They’ve got excellent quality produce, an amazing selection for a tiny shop, and friendly helpful owners. Confession; Sometimes I just head in on the way home from work to be inspired into cooking something decent for dinner. When my vegan friend is in town I hit them up constantly. Let’s face, there are times when we’re forced to hit the neighborhood grocer /convenience store for the missing link in whatever you’ve just go to make and it feels as though we’re paying the troll to cross the bridge. These people make city living a pleasure — I actually feel happy to give them my money.

Simply the perfect local independent grocery store. Everything is high quality, the service is excellent. They’ve saved me when I’m missing an importnant ingredient many times. And somehow they always have avocados that are the perfect ripeness for immediate guac … nice.

Bloorcourt Village Market is an awesome neighbourhood fruit and grocery market. They have excellent produce, a good selection of other grocery items, the store is clean and bright, and the owners are super friendly. Although the new location is significantly smaller it is also brighter and more inviting and I much prefer it. This isn’t my closest fruit market but I often find myself coming here after finding wilted lettuce or unripe tomatoes at the 2 or 3 markets closer to my house. Easily the best market in the area.

When I first moved downtown to the Bloorcourt Village area I was ecstatic to go to this family owned, local food market instead of my usual North York Dominion(now, Metro). There is something special about local produce and food shops. Maybe it’s because everybody knows your name, and they’re always glad you came(sorry) but Bloorcourt Market is hands down a local fave. The prices are by no means extraordinarily better than other grocers, but their produce is always fresh and the family who own it are incredibly kind and sincere. They always ask about you and they actually remember you. They are a true staple of the community. A few months ago I learned to my grave sadness that they were closing their doors due to a rent dispute with the stores owner after over 10 years in business there. Well, we wouldn’t have it! Community members poured their hearts out to the store operators begging for them to stay and shunned the landlord for his cruel, heartless ways. What would be the fate of our beloved local market? Happily, they reopened just a few doors down(next to Shopper’s between Delaware and Dovercourt) into a smaller, but much more vibrant and bright store. Bloorcourt Market is great for produce(local always on the North American fruits and veggies) and all your every-day grocery needs!

Bloorcourt Village Market is an institution in this tiny West side neighborhood. A few months ago the bad news came down that the family who runs this market would have to vacate their old store location, which was on the next block over. There was such a huge outpouring of grief that the family pledged to remain in the neighborhood. Their new location took a couple of months to open, but I will never forget hearing the news that the new place had finally taken the brown paper out of the windows and opened it’s doors. I won’t forget it because it was my birthday and my drunken exuberance was unleashed upon the unprepared stranger who gave me the news at around 1am at Disgraceland. When I eagerly entered the new place I immediately told one of the owners that I’d nearly developed scurvy without them. She laughed and said it was great to have such community support. The new store is smaller, possibly by half, but it is now more of a specialty produce and grocery mart. The old location had a lot of room but their nonperishable aisles didn’t seem to move a lot of stock. The new location still features some of their old specialties, including a wide range of latino and asian cooking supplies. The produce is always great, with a focus on organic when available. They also have a few cooler cases with drinks and some perishable goods. If you’re in the neighborhood, skip the Dufferin Mall nightmare and head straight to this great little store, the jewel of the neighborhood.
