Specialties

We have a seasonally changing menu offering upscale comfort food with a modern twist. Gourmet pizza, a selection of pasta dishes and gourmet sandwiches provide great value at lunch. Classic bistro staples like grilled calamari, steak-frites and grilled salmon are all affordably priced and are perfect for a casual evening out. Featuring an extensive wine list with more than a dozen wines by the glass, Archeo is also a perfect drinks destination.

At our historic building, we offer a unique and inviting atmosphere to our customers. Our interior combines an open plan and welcoming hospitality. High yellow pine ceilings, concrete floors, exposed brick walls and the reclaimed timber bar and tables are a perfect blend of contemporary style and historic tradition.

Our patio is a sheltered oasis at the heart of Toronto’s Historic Distillery District. Archeo’s outdoor patio is alfresco dining at its summertime best. We are perfect for a laid-back lunch, dinner or business function.

History

Established in 2003.

Archeo’s name is derived from archeology and its uniqueness as a casual dining destination owes much to its multi-layered past. A rare example of Victorian industrial architecture, its industrial patina comes naturally, given its origins as an 1887 maintenance house that once serviced the alcohol and purification and storage facilities inside Toronto’s historic Distillery District. Initially a single open space devoted to a fitting shop, by 1889 it was divided into two halves, one each for a carpenter’s and plumber’s shop. Today restored to its original open-concept design, Archeo is a contemporary-styled restaurant with a unique historic setting.
