Annex Cat Rescue

The Annex Cat Rescue is hands down one of the greatest charitable organizations in Toronto. Entirely volunteer-​run, this is a great organization to join up with if you’re looking for do some impactful volunteering.
I’ve been involved as a foster parent for the last 6 months, and I’ve recently been involved in writing for their blog and contributing social media content. Their team is accommodating and great to work with, and they always put the cats first.
If you’re looking to adopt a cat, there’s no better organization to connect with. You’ll be adopting a cat that’s living with and being socialized by a foster family, and you’ll get to meet the kitty in a relaxed environment before making any adoption decisions. Helping kittens rescued from the street, and supporting one of the leanest, most passionate and dedicated charity out there? It’s a great choice that will make you feel ever better.

I adopted a cat from ACR several years ago. The process was so professional and enjoyable that I decided to volunteer with the organization.
Since that time, I’ve volunteered in various areas, most recently as a foster home provider. The volunteers and supporters who make this organization possible are outstanding, and the work is tremendously rewarding (and it’s fun!).
If you’re looking to adopt a cat/​kitten or volunteer with an animal welfare organization, I wholeheartedly recommend ACR.

We wanted to adopt a kitty to keep our nine year old male tabby company. We figured a female kitten would be best.
Thursday I saw one that I wanted and happily someone had dibs on her. I chose another. I had an interview with one of the volunteers Friday afternoon.
We visited the kitty we wanted in her foster home on Friday evening. Her foster mom liked us and let us take her.
Crumpet is a spunky nine week old kitty is who is full of spirit. She’s go go go … then crashes for a nap.
Everything was handled very professionally by the ARC and we’ve been happy with the experience.

ACR is a really great group, who takes care of some of Toronto’s neediest kitties: the ferals. A dedicated group of volunteers works really hard to feed and vet the cats living on the streets, spaying and neutering as many of them as possible so that they don’t just keep reproducing, and trapping and rehoming any kittens or friendly adults who can be tamed.

Hi All!
Just wanted everyone in town to know about this great organization. Sorry, I don’t know too too much about it but what I do know is that they do great work! If you are looking to volunteer or better yet, adopt a cat, this is the place to call. I have had the chance to meet some of the staff as well as some of their rescues and I really think this is a great venue for those looking to adopt. Cats who are rescued from the streets are offered up to foster homes while they are being reared or just waiting for their ”‘forever homes”’.
