Well hey there! Hope you’re lucky enough to stumble across my review before risking the chances of many food bourne illnesses carried on by unsanitary«in the danger zone» buffets! If you’re currently in or just left this buffet and reading my review… damn, may the inglorious toilet bound days not last a century. Let’s commence! I personally hate buffets due to it’s rep of being quite unsanitary and don’t like my food sitting out for longer than 30 minutes. Call me picky but hey, we all need standards… But it’s mothers birthday and fam is on budget mode with my grandparents and they oddly dig the buffet ‘all you can eat’ gist. The floor staff looks like they’re here just to get paid and only paid… no f**ks given. I’m a self proclaimed phone addict don’t get me wrong but honestly, it’s so disrespectful when you’re making a phone call, walking through the buffet and clearly have people trying to get your attention to get a water refill and you get that eye roll from her…*eye twitch Food reflects back on how terrible the staff is. Lol. Dry, sometimes not even there, and gives you a distasteful feeling. *bleh and makes you mouth the words ‘wtf’?! No, seriously… I like my cucumbers snappy and fresh… not under a lamp and sucked dry to its cucumber bone… But you get it… food is greasy, dry and stale… Washrooms smell like shit… and once you walk out of the washrooms you kind of start contemplating of doing a dine and dash since this place offers you no goddamn refund if you’re not happy. They could care less of your presence… My name’s Sara so I’m used to being treated like the princess my name derives from… I tried Henceforth, save you’re hard earned money and you deserve better! Always remember that, you’re f**king special and your stomach is begging you to the least, feed its some pizza? Ya know… Ahh c’est la vie. Obviously won’t come again, even by force… nope!

My wife wanted to eat here for some reason fine no problem we went around 8:30pm I made her go in and check to make sure the tables are still full. Well the mistake was I went in ½ the food was cold and some of it was very dry food. I am not a dog so I will not eat dry food. The waitress came and told me she will charge me extra for wasted food. I let her have it are you kidding me? This is dry look at it she said nothing and went to the manager. I told my wife lets go my wife went to pay and he said we wasted food my wife explained how the food was dry and we will not eat dry food. He then tells me not to come back lol buddy don’t worry we won’t my wife then mentioned she will call the health inspector he told me no on else complained yeah right if someone else complained what would you do? We asked for his name he wouldn’t give it when my wife mentioned we will call the health inspector he became startled. I checked the health reviews of this place lol what a joke it should have been shut down long ago. SAVEYOURMONEY! You can have better food at 7 — 11 than this place. The food quality was absolutely horrendous. The food was clearly old and looked reheated. It tasted just as bad. We brought this to attention of staff, and the woman replied that they do not offer refunds. She did not offer any recourse or fix for the situation. Never will I go back here again! Rating: F

The most disgusting Chinese food EVER!!! Dried up old garbage on the buffet. The place was filthy. I actually saw the server scrape something gross off the inside of a water glass with a fork and put the fork back on the table. I feel sorry for whoever was sitting in that seat. Don’t waste your time or money!!! Told the cashier how awful the food was and her reply was«I just come here to work.» Would rather starve to death than ever eat here again!!!

My expectations were low for this buffet but my family insisted to dine here. We were a group of 4, and hungry after a busy day. They actually have a decent selection of food. The food turnover was good. Staff refilled food regularly during the busy dinner rush. You get a bit of everything to try. BBQ your own meat, sushi, Chinese food, fruit, cookies, ice cream, seafood, etc. The quality of the food is not the best but some of the items were pretty good such as the green beans and prawns. Plates were cleared regularly. Staff refilled water and dropped off extra napkins.

To me, this buffet restaurant has been one of infamous I experienced so I have tried to stay away from it. But as I recently heard a rumour that it is under a new ownership, I decided to try out. Result: it could be my low expectation or hunger but it was not bad.

RECENTLYUNDERNEWMANAGEMENT. A LOTHASCHANGEDFORTHEBETTER. I love this restaurant and go often. The food is great and the prices are great. The building is large so there is plenty of seating and there’s usually not a lot of people there(I go around 5pm so it may get busy later in the evening). The restaurant is fairly old so it’s kind of shabby. I wouldn’t say it’s dirty but it’s not super clean either. The variety is awesome. There are so many different kinds of food and it’s pretty good quality. I’m a really picky person and I like it so that says a lot. They have all you can eat crab but it’s so dry and shrivelled up it’s like pulling little pieces of cardboard out of the shell so I avoid that even though I love crab. But the rest of the food is great. The waitresses can barely speak english and we never know what they are saying so that’s awkward. They only come around to ask if you want a drink then you’re on your own but it’s an all you can eat buffet so they aren’t going to ask how your meal is every 5 mins. The food used to look like it had been sitting for a while but new management took over and now everything looks super fresh. I heard something about a food safety issue, they weren’t keeping the food hot enough to pass the inspection so they’ve fixed that as well. Overall I’m very pleased with the restaurant, even more with the new owners. I’d highly recommend it.

you pay for what you get from a buffet that costs around 15 – 17 dollars. lots of variety and obviously the main draw is the crab and all you can eat at that. people that post negatives reviews comparing to expensive restaurants like the Keg should not go there in the first place if you want flare and great customer service like having a server ask you every five minutes«How is your meal?» go somewhere else. for good value for the money, go to Oriental buffet.

Food Quality: 2⁄10 Customer Service: 1⁄10 Price: 1⁄10 the most disgusting place to have food in surrey area. very bad customer service and food is all oily, deep fried, some of them at least one day old, barbeque was not working and no meat to barbeque, ice cream buckets were either half or empty. i asked the manager if i can have more ice creams, and he said«you look around, you eat too much, and its all good enough» lol. hopefully they lose the business and someone else with better management can take this place and renovate the whole place. oh forgot to say, the building is 100 years old, washroom smell and it looks disgusting and the interior design makes you feel blue.

I just want to say… THANKGAWD I DIDN’T GETFOODPOISONING! I dragged my buddy out to this because I used to love going to buffets as a kid. Boy times have changed. You get what you paid for. Its cheap just like the food. All the food was stale cause it’s been left out too long and all day. even the chicken tasted off. I dare not touch the sushi fearing horrible food poisoning. Their ice cream was disgusting. didn’t even taste like ice cream. it tasted like pepto bismol and the cream part had long expired. And I don’t know why but I found the decore very depressing. With so little staff around seems like you could easily do a dine and dash. We waited 5 minutes by the til until a staff acknowledged us. couldve walked out.

My boyfriend and I went there for the first time today. Not one employee greeted us or even said hello. We sat ourselves and sat there expecting someone to come over and say hello and at the very least give us water. We had to go up to the guy standing who was giving other tables water then just standing and watching the room. He finally brought us water once we asked. We went and got our first plate and came back to sit down. To our surprise an ‘oriental’ restaurant didn’t even put chop sticks on the table; the only thing they feel is needed is only a fork. Not even a knife to go with that! Once we started eating the chicken balls were cold and the pork was all fat. And this has to be the only place that put parsley on sushi! Parsley on sushi!!! Weird! Half way through our meal we accidentally spilt a cup of water. The man working saw us do it and didn’t even come over with a cloth. I had to go ask for one and clean it up myself. I realize this is a buffet but come on your not even doing the basics of service. Every other buffet we’ve been to has had a server bring over pop, coffee or more napkins; at least ask how our meal is. Once we finally got the bill we went to pay. The man at the counter didn’t even look at us. He was yelling at another co-worker in a different language looking right through us. He didn’t smile, didn’t say thank you– nothing. Needless to say the service was super shitty and the food was almost as bad. We won’t be going back. Think twice before going. You’ve been warned!

When you see glistening mango pudding, you expect it to smell, well, like mangoes… but at Oriental Buffet, the pungent scent of dog crap reeks from these watery yellow cubes. I kid you not. It was so bad, I called my friends over one after the other to sniff it and to laugh at them finch back in agony. Ambiance: Apart from the mango pudding, everything else about Oriental Buffet was actually sublime. The restaurant was sparkling clean and I’m guessing because of its location, seating was more than roomy. Fried Chicken: «Holy Sh! t, it tastes as good as CHURCH’S CHICKEN!!!» is what one of my friends exclaimed after taking his first bite of the fried chicken drumstick. One can easily tell that they deep-fried the chicken with no batter which left me doubtful. However, after hearing that clear crispy crunch sound, I couldn’t help but to indulge myself. Chinese Food: There was a wide array of Chinese delicacies to select from and while no particular dish«wowed» me, none of them tasted bad either. The food was well-seasoned, not TOO greasy, and actually WARM(such a rare feat nowadays). Desserts(other than Mango Pudding): Stale cake and bland gelatin were available like every restaurant of this mold; however, I was pleasantly surprised by their hard-serve ice cream. Upon first glance, it seemed as though they offered the typical unexciting flavors: chocolate, strawberry, & vanilla. After repeated tastings, I discovered that it was chocolate with traces of cocoa powder; strawberry with real chunks of the fruit; and french vanilla. Delicious!!! Closing Thoughts: I find it quite unfortunate that there’s finally a good Chinese buffet yet from the looks of it, business was so-so. We went on a Thursday night and there were maybe 6 tables seated with customers out of a possible 50 – 60. Dinner cost $ 16 – 17 after tax and tips; fair. In any case though, this restaurant is easily worth 4 stars(–1 for the pudding).

I dunno why my dad LOVES this place but it’s the only place he wants to go to when eating out. It’s a huge restaurant with lots of parking, and lots of food to choose from… unfortunately you’re choosing from lots of BAD food. It’s wayyyyyy to greasy and it just has that horrible taste of food left out there for days…(I know its not days, probably hours but still my taste buds don’t like it at all). I leave the place feeling DISGUSTED… but wait… they had Jello… and my kids liked the Jello… so I guess… you get another star…

This is a place where you want to go for their Sunday special all you can eat buffet. The food is mediocre and so is the service. But for what you can get for the price its well worth it. Bring your appetite, folks.

There’s nothing special about Oriental Buffet, just your standard Chinese buffet food fare. It does have a very large seating area along with private rooms, so it’s an option for birthday parties and the like. That being said, you will find little kids running all about so watch your step if you don’t want to lose your plate. They came under new management a couple years ago so it has helped with the cleanliness. It used to be my Dad’s favourite place for food because it was cheap and fast, but the rest of the family and I hated to go because of that, the food was cheap in quality too.
