I have been to E&A’s a total of three times to date, and I am torn on my star rating because there are some things that are so good and other things that are so bad, so I settled for a happy medium of three stars. I’ve been here twice for brunch and once for food that was not brunch during a staff party. The good: the brunch is amazingly cheap — everything is $ 6 and there is even an item that is $ 4. Mimosas are $ 3 which was also quite surprising. The food tasted delicious for brunch, and they are pretty good in getting orders straight with a lot of modifications. Cool interior and vibe, and I love the fact that they have board games there! On a not so busy day my friends and I were able to get through 2 rounds of Scrabble, punctuated by our waitress coming by to refill our coffee. The bad: Food that wasn’t breakfast was meh. I had the perogies(appetizer size) that was $ 10.50, and found it to be meh and disappointing for the price. All the other food was kind of overpriced period. I found the craft beer to be $ 2 – 3 over what I would find in Vancouver, which was weird. Also, they don’t advertise coffee on their menu. Though I was pleasantly surprised to hear that coffee had free refills, coffee works itself out to be about $ 3.15 ish, which is more expensive than the mimosa! Weird that they don’t advertise it. Service was okay — the restaurant wasn;t too busy but there were only three waitresses, the manager and a guy from the bar serving, but it was slow to get stuff done. We tried on numerous occasions to flag down our waitress but it took her at least 10 minutes before we were able to ask her to get some cutlery for us. Also, for a place that expansive, a restaurant should have a more decent parking lot that exists on their premise. There is only about 7 stalls, with the rest of the parking reserved for the liquor store that is next door. I don’t know if the place has ever been full, but there is no way that 7 stalls will cut it. All in all, I love how cheap the breakfast is and how delicious it is. That will probably be my sole reason for coming back, to have a great breakfast at a great price.

Another JRG pub, with a similar environment to Town Hall. Good selection of beers and drinks. The menu is similar as well. However, you MUST get the Chicken and Waffle sandwich here. They don’t have it at any other JRG pub. Oh, and don’t expect to eat it with your hands.

Pub has great promotions and good quality food. My wife and I have gone here a number of times over the last few months skipping pubs that are a lot closer to home. But the latest visit will be my last. The new policy of allowing children into the pub has ruined my Edith and Arthur experience. I go to pubs to get away from children not to have somebody’s kids foisted upon me. There are plenty of restaurants where children are welcome. A neighborhood pub should not be one of them. Some restaurants are even designed for children. Why any parent would want to have their 8 year old in a pub playing video games on their phone is beyond me. The only conclusion I can come to is that the parents are too cheap to hire a baby sitter. Edith and Arthur’s have really dropped the ball n this one. I don’t know what they hope are hoping to accomplish but it will not be my repeat patronage. Too bad. I actually liked the place.

I have been here for breakfast lunch and dinner on different occasions. Their breakfast has to be my favorite. Their are actual choices of dishes for breakfast all of them being of decent proportion and variety while still being at classic pub prices. Their lunch and dinner menu has a decent amount of options(and is a little more expensive). I find their food to be tasty but often over salted. Their meals usually come in a bowl or on a wooden plank depending what you ordered. I find that any burger or sandwich meal to be a little bit too small and I have to either order something else or eat something later, which is fine if you are not that hunger but isn’t really something I want when going out for dinner. Their drink menu has a nice variety. What I will say I really like is their perogies. I am never hungry or disappointed after ordering those. The menu is very similar if not the same as all the other JR company public houses. This location is rather small and the one thing that stops me from going here is the parking. THEREISNONE. It is rather annoying to drive out to Edith and Arthurs to either drive around and around fighting for the 5 stalls or just giving up and going somewhere else.

Terrible service. We were literally kicked out of this place because my friend’s drivers’ license expired a year ago. She wasn’t even drinking! We never got to try the food because our server insisted on us leaving. We will never be back!

Our group was a six person table for brunch. The food was good but the service awful. We sat down at first as two with the other four joining within five minutes. The hostess was informed of the number of people coming, but only bought two menus to the table. By the time the other four people got to the table there were still no additional menus. This goes for water glasses as well. It’s relatively busy for brunch but not crazy. The staff should be able to not only see that the table requires extra menus and glasses but respond to the multiple requests for such items. Eventually the water glass problem was solved. Enough time had passed that we shared the menus to figure out what to order. So the orders go in and the coffee and drinks begin to arrive with relative speed. Our waitress hardly ever comes to check to see if we want more drinks or coffee refills. I find this odd because this is where the place makes its money. The coffee is $ 3.10 on the bill, I’d like a refill please and thank you. The brunch food of skillets and omelettes is amazingly priced, I believe they were only $ 6 each. The food was delivered hot and no one had a compliant about the taste, which was good cause the waitress didn’t come to check if there was a problem. I’m not sure if it was an off day for the staff but it was noticeable enough to warrant two stars upon review. I will try this place again because it’s likely worth another shot. Their crafty beer selection was good and seemed like its probably awesome for sports watching. Also, the parking situation is totally shite.

My experience at Edith and Arthur has been a horrible one. A reservation was made beforehand but when we got there, the tables are not reserved and 2 tables had to be combined to make room. Food took 50 minutes to arrive. A friend of mine has been forced to leave the restaurant when she doesn’t have her ID while no one at the table is consuming alcohol. When the food did arrive, one person’s order was missed entirely and the waitress did not apologize for the mistake. The watermelon and apple in the fruit salad tastes like onion(most likely due to use of unwashed knifes that was used to cut onion beforehand). Several more mistake has been made. Raw egg allergy that has been explicit stated when ordering has been ignored and runny egg yolks were served. Over easy eggs were served instead of scrambled. Sausages were served instead of bacon. The waitress’s attitude was rude and unacceptable. In the end, the issue was brought up to the manager on duty and they offered have the bill of the table on the house(average $ 8 per person). Gift certificates were also offered. I still would not visit this restaurant again due to the unpleasant experience.

Absolutely no customer service. Takes forever to order drinks and food, and even longer to get served. Had to ask the waitress three times before drinks were served and the place was not even that busy. Please, avoid this place, not worth the money.

I went here during their happy hour and the drinks tasted watered down and service was slow even though the place wasn’t even half full. On the positive side, the food was pretty good. If you go on a Friday or Saturday it gets super loud as they have a DJ and the place kinda turns into a club.

Went to E&A with my friend last night for Halloween. We had drink tickets which was great. The place looks amazing! I was surprised because last night I came here is looked very different. And they played really good music. The staff was very friendly and patient with me and my friend because we were very unsure what we wanted to have. We ended up having high balls. I got a vodka soda and my friend had a rum and Coke. Unfortunately the drinks weren’t good at all. Very strong, so strong we only took a few sips. We were only their a short while but I plan to come here again with more friends.

I live close by so it’s always an option… But looking to cut it out. Service consistently bad. Servers are always standing at the bar. Not attending to tables. If she came by every 10mins here would be a drink order every time, but coming by after 30mins… been she only has two tables… I prefer to just get my bill and leave. I’ll drink at home.

Came here to have dinner. The place was packed full of people. It was a really busy night. The food was tasty, service was blahh! Our server was never to be found. The inside was really full and we were sat in the patio. It was really cold too. After we ordered our food, it took at least 30min. before we got our food. The chicken wings for the appetizer wasn’t that great. It was too soggy! I was expecting something crispy, but instead, we got the chicken wings that tasted like boiled chicken wings. But everything else was really tasty and delicious. Food was great. Place has great atmosphere. Service experience wasn’t the great.

While«Townhall» name has established itself as a standard around the lower mainland in recent years, Edith and Arthur is an «overall» average pub. That doesn’t discredit the bar, due to the food being above average for a pub and a DJ being present during the weekends. The bar offers an above average assortment of brews and Happy hour deals look attractive, when present at the appropriate times. The challenge to this bar is Tap house 5 mins away offers a much bigger entertainment draw and thus often hurts the volume of customers seeking music and a fun atmosphere come weekends. A visit to Edith & Arthur is nice for a decent beer selection, however overall it remains average bar struggling to maintain a significant stream of young customers due to the Henry and Taphouse alternatives nearby.

I live fairly close to Edith & Arthur and have gone there a handful of times. Overall I always come back to the thought that everything they offer is mediocre. The service is hit and miss but generally more on the down side. I attended a birthday party there a couple of weeks ago and our party got seated outside and all of their heating lamps were broken. And if you live in BC and it’s the middle of December you can only imagine how cold it was. We were given one server for a party of around 30. My sister and I both ordered burgers and upon the initial tasting she claimed that hers tasted burnt. I prefer my meat to be charred so I didn’t think much of it but eventually even I couldn’t help but notice the overwhelming taste of scorched meat. I opened my burger and flipped the patty over and it was completely BLACK and hard. I won’t be going there again which is unfortunate because it is a cute little place. Everything on the menu you can make at home yourself so why even pay.

Awese service! Hands down the best for a pub! Menu is great with continued updates! Many excellent beers on tap! In general a great spot

We had such a great experience the first time we were here thanks to their extensive selection of craft beer on tap and a great bartender, but that guy was gone on Sunday and the floor manager who thinks he is a rockstar totally convinced us never to step foot in there again. We walked in on Sunday and it was packed. There was a large beefy guy typing away at a host station facing the door. We stood in front of him, waiting for some direction, and he looked up and glared at us and went back to what he was doing. No hello, no «seat yourself» — just a dirty look. The waitress passing finally said seat yourself, so we did. There were two stools at the bar, only. The floor manager then walked across the room and sat in one, so we couldn’t even sit there! I’ve never seen anything like this guy! Definitely added the Surrey hospitality to this location. We sat outside for a minute, but when the waitress came unfortunately she couldn’t remember any of the names of the craft beers on tap, they aren’t on the menu, and I have no interest in drinking Kokanee on tap in surrey, just to be out. We walked out super disappointed and we won’t come back.

Nice atmosphere and very friendly service. Good food(had the nachos and fire-dusted calamari again). A few $ more than other pubs but you get what you pay for in quality. I really enjoyed Edith & Arthur(much like I enjoyed their sister location — Townhall in Langley). Two things I noticed: — they carry a wider variety of liquor(for example, they had the super-awesome Maple Finished Crown Royal) — parking at this location is kinda lousy — if the(tiny) lot is full, you may be out of luck because street parking barely exists in this area I’ll definitely be back!

Best Upscale Pub in Surrey. If you are looking for a restaurant with a «downtown/gastown» feel but locally in your neighbourhood, look no farther. This used to be the old Fleetwood Arms, but those days are long gone. This restaurant is completely different from floor to ceiling. The service is way-above average, the food is solid and the atmosphere is fun. Parking sucks for the establishment, can’t deny that, but there are many streets with parallel parking within a short walking distance. I recommend the nachos. This is a must — have. Drink selection is excellent. You will not be disappointed in this department. Can’t make reservations after 7 — so keep this in mind.

Another trendy pub you wouldn’t expect to find in the depths of Surrey, but there it is, craft brews, fireplaces and cozy with a historical vibe. Are chicken and waffles«over!» yet? Because Edith + Arthur’s are pretty epic — a big piece of breaded chicken breast sandwiched between two thick, crispy waffles and lettuce/tomato, served with a shot glass of maple gravy to pour over top. It’s presented as a sandwich, but I tackled it with knife and fork. The side salad was also surprisingly good, utilizing little chunks of watermelon and matchsticks of cucumber with a tangy dressing. I didn’t even have to eat for the rest of the day.

Had the nachos they were awesome. Drink selection and on tap beer selection was good. Medium size place, but was empty enough for us to go right in so I don’t understand why we had to wait 10 minutes to get in the door. The guys at the door were really nice and treated us great. Prices were good for what the place was.
