Great breakfast and lunch restaurant. A locally owned and operated hot spot. Everything is good but the crab cakes with poached eggs are especially delicious.

Chef Big D’s hits the spot. My girlfriend and I came here after a hard workout and were not disappointed. The food was clean, healthy, plentiful and delicious. So good that we came back the next day and got the same thing. Wish they had a Chef Big It’s in my hometown.

A chaotic start but satisfying end. Rule 1: Sit at any table that is clean and prepped. On a Sunday afternoon around 11:30pm you would hope staffing would be sufficient but there was a clear insufficiency. There was only one waitress on the floor responsible for helping all the customers, delivering food, and cleaning up tables because the other waitress was tied up on the till helping a line up of 10+ patrons paying for their meal. Due to this situation, tables weren’t being cleaned which meant no one waiting at the door could sit — because the rule is, Sit at any clean table and then you will be served. A lot of people behind us were confused and getting impatient with the disorganization. Finally after 25 minutes, the staff at the till was done and was able to bust some tables. If we disregarded this glitch in the system, service and food was great! Our server was quick to get our order and serve us water once we sat down. I ordered the Veggie Usual($ 10). I chose the whole wheat toast(among other choices of white and sourdough) but the butter, peanut butter, marmalade, and various jams made me eat it all up. My scrambled eggs were fluffy and not over cooked. The«hashbrowns» were more like potato chips — I think I had a dud batch because mine were super crispy and hard, I wish they were more soft potato with a crispy outside, which my friend had. The tomato, avocado and fruit were fresh and a perfect accompaniment. My boyfriend ordered the breakfast burrito, he enjoyed it — a tortilla packed full of scrambled eggs, cheese, mushrooms, and sausages. Overall, besides from the hangry start, me and my crew left happy with bellies full.

On our way back down to Seattle from Whistler, we stopped by for some breakfast food. It was a Sunday and the place was pretty busy, but we were seated right away which was nice. There was only one person serving so service was a little slow, but again… it was busy so no biggie. The person was extremely nice which I appreciated considering she was flying solo on a busy Sunday. The overall atmosphere was chill and laid back. Totally a neighborhood diner feel. The food was good too. I probably wouldnt drive all the way up just for food, but I would definitely go back if ever driving through. I saw a couple non-breakfast dishes that other people ordered and they looked amazing!!! Definitely a fan.

Cozy breakfast, yum. Great service and kids’ menu is for all ages. Great if you don’t like huge portions.

Driving by Squamish and need a place to eat lunch or breakfast and you don’t want to eat at that McDonald’s you always see? Well, drive little past McDonald’s on Cleveland and go eat here. They have all the standard breakfast stuff with nice portions, quick service, and some good quality food. Go for: breakfast(try the crab cakes) and lunch Don’t go for: specialty breakfast items as the menu is standard breakfast stuff you’d expect

The food is always good, the portions are always generous, and the service is always efficient. There are some menu items I am not thrilled about, such as the hashbrowns, and I found that the tropical pancakes got soggy after awhile with the sauce, but were otherwise tasty; next time I could ask for the sauce on the side. I have found plenty of menu items that I am thrilled about, though — I love your caesar salad, beef dip, beef dip melt, and club house to name a few. I still think 5 stars are in order for this great little place.

I arrived just as they were opening. Found a seat for myself. Server provided me with a menu within 5 minutes of sitting down. She was friendly and courteous, asked if I wanted more water for my tea etc. I ordered the Tropical Pancakes, they were probably the best pancakes I’ve ever eaten. The whipped topping was delicious but felt like there wasn’t enough syrup. But to save the day they have single serving jams on the tables. So that was a bonus. They had cute little woven cosies on their teapots which was a nice accent to the restaurant experience. Good overall, pricing was standard for this area of the sea to sky. Cheaper than the White spot which is close by.

Always love this spot for a big breakfast! It’s our squamish go-to. It’s understandable why there is sometimes a bit of a wait. Locals love the place!

Wife and I stopped here craving a burger. It sounded good and we had high expectations for this ½ pound $ 14.25 burger, but when it arrived it tasted like thanksgiving stuffing, so we asked if they mistook it for some kind of veggie burger. Turns out they cut it with bread crumbs, which explained the colour, texture and taste. They must use a LOT of bread. We had ordered a smoked salmon salad and were splitting the burger but we could both only handle one bite each. We told the server we didn’t want the burger, and the owner came out and made a scene in front of everyone in the restaurant. We told her we did not want to pay because it was not all beef. She claimed that the description on the menu said«spiced burger» and that bread crumbs was a spice. Terrible service and gross burger.

Really good food with really nice take away layout. Looks a lot better then the cheap white kind. Everything comes with fresh fruit and the poached eggs are perfect and huge because they use fresh farmed eggs. It DOES make a big difference! Crab cakes are quite yummy and the potatoes are really good! My favourite are their pancakes. I crave them often! It’s delicious, and their maple syrup isn’t the store bought and has quite a nice richness. Love it. The only thing is that it could be sort of more expensive if your eating daily and it’s quite a wait since it’s so busy.

Great late brunch(1:30pm) as we were driving home from Whistler. We had a group of 6 with 2 kids. Guess we had great timing cause a big table had just opened up. The serving sizes are generous. Food was delicious and service was great. Nice cozy relaxed atmosphere, like a little neighborhood coffee shop vibe. We’re remembering this place for our next trip for sure!

Eggs Benny were awesome — homemade sauce the best. Kids loved the pancakes and portion sizes.

Went to this place yesterday for breakfast on the way to Whistler and it was one the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. I ordered Big D’s omelette with cranberry sourdough toast. I live in Langley, but I will be making the drive just for breakfast.

A hamburger as big as my head — just what was needed after a bit of hiking. I had the BigD burger. I thought the price was a bit high but then I read the list of toppings from which I picked three. So my Todd-burger was constructed as: 1. Grilled chicken — perfectly cooked 2. Bacon — just crispy enough 3. Brie — for that continental flavour 4. Chutney — today’s secret ingredient and a bit of a game changer. My partner had the yogurt and granola with fresh fruit — it was also pretty big and the fruit(Apples, strawberries, melon, kiwi) was all fresh. Again a healthy sized serving and good to the last morsel. If you’re in Squamish(or driving past on the way to Whistler) this is a great place for lunch.

This is a local greasy spoon evolving into something a bit more hip and quite frankly unique for Squamish. You can get the standard easy over eggs and hash browns but also some healthier options like the salmon frittata with freshly grinded carrots. I, nor anyone I’ve taken here, has been disappointed so far. Coffee was also surprisingly good on every occasion. It’s a bit a of self service place where you seat yourself and checkout at the counter but has recently improved with the servers actually smiling at you when delivering food. It’s going to be interesting where Big D takes this place in the next couple of years as it’s always packed and has potential for growth.
